Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

Absolutely would do it! Teeth might be chattering the whole time but wouldn't miss that epic experience!!
Infinite in minus...tho seems funn
I'm so used to you guys doing incredible things that it usually isn't shocking... But THIS. I was in awe the whole time. Absolutely insane. Your courage and determination is so inspiring.
same
Yikes. No way. Ever.
at what point does bravery become stupidity and testing fate, a la titanic submarine tho?
My #1 fear is heights. This video had my hands and feet sweating!
But what is 2000ft? Metric system will get you over your fear of hights
@M High enough to kill you. That’s still around 600 m.
I'm not afraid of heights, I'm afraid of plummeting to serious injury or death. I'll stand in the roof of a 1000 story building. But probably not go near the edge unless it has a big guardrail of some sort.
SAME
@Joe McKim So you kinda are afraid of heights :D I'm the same way. As long as there is some sort of barrier or guard rail I'm fine. Cut that out of the equation and I'll be hugging the ground faaaar away from the edge.
There is no way in HAYELL I'd do that at this point in my life. But, Kara's ability to push through is crazy inspiring. Makes me feel like maybe I can face my biggest fears, too.
"It's the best thing I've ever eaten"
I love how every meal Kara has, its always the best thing she's ever eaten lol 😆
My absolute favorite thing about this video is getting to see how much you two truly love and support each other. It’s so wonderful to watch you cheer each other on and the encouragement and love just comes across in a way that makes us understand how you’re feeling. This video was great, you’re great. What a team!
Can we all just take a moment to recognize how absolutely incredible it is that they did this AND filmed the whole thing?! Beautiful shots and POVs. You two are insanely amazing! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
Literally I’d be too focused on keeping myself calm and getting through it to look around much less film
@musically intimidated SAME. I got so nervous when Nate was holding the selfie stick out while on that ladder 😖
Great drone footage by Nate while Kara went first
Kara also did instagram stories while doing this! They're so brave!
@Em omg she’s crazy hahahaha I love them so much 😂
My heart is pounding just watching you two climb this. Congratulations!!!!
Literally had my hands and feet sweating throughout the whole entire video. I was really screaming out loud, saying "Stop filming! Please grab the string tight!" You guys are just so incredible to be able to finish this challenge, love both of u so much!
Um... How'd you get down? The whole thing in reverse? This was beyond anything I'd ever dream of being able to do! Y'all are amazing for so many reasons.
Usually climbing down is the hard part!
There's a regular hiking trail going up as well.
Kara is such a badass. She does things I would never have the opportunity to even try, and she rocks it. Nate is legend for his insane mountain biking. Together you guys are superhero's.
Kara is such a trooper for always being down to join Nate on these wild and crazy adventures that he comes up with lol and seeing him encourage her is so sweet. Great shots of the ladder. I have a fear of heights so I don't see myself ever doing something like this lol
Love the way you support each other! Next time you do a Via Ferrata, always have your two carabiner's facing in opposite directions when you clip onto the wire. If you were to accidentally fall off, you could risk having both carabiner's open at the same time. Placing them in opposite directions protects you because it provides an extra layer of safety and stops the risk of them both opening. I work as a Via Ferrata guide in the Italian Dolomites. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us! : )
I was going to say this it’s the most important thing I’ve been taught for them
My point exactly. They don’t know what they r doing
It was just a regular hike down?
Oops didn’t mean to comment here
They did on the first low Via Ferrata. At 3:55 you can see Nate’s carabiner facing opposite directions and right before that if you watch how Kara clips hers, she does opposite directions as well.
I've been binge-watching all of your hundreds of videos since July and you have inspired me to take my first flight in 20 years this past weekend! It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, and now I look forward to finally seeing the world! Also- I love how you both encourage each other so much. Such a positive example of a relationship.
Wow Nate is so motivational and encouraging to Kara, that’s amazing! Just cheering her on and helping her and being the most supporting husband! Love them! So proud of them❤
As someone who is terrified of heights, I would never do something like this. But seeing how you guys handled this with your encouragements with it to each other and filmed it all is really beautiful!
Your drone footage is spectacular! It takes your video to the next level! Great job guys! I would NEVERRRR. You two are so inspiring. Keep it up.
This is BY FAR my most favorite video of you two! Idk how you can make someone feel so alive through your videos but you’ve accomplished that; and for that I thank you. 💕 safe travels amigos.
so you're saying nate and kara climbed up such a steep mountain AND documented, even flew a drone over the ferrata for us viewers?? you're amazing guys! good job!
And all of that in sneakers. Wow.
For real!
Do you mean it's fake?
I'm so proud of both of you, epic adventure! ❤
I commend Kara in her hike as I , too, am one who is also afraid of heights! Awesome journey! 😊🫶🏆🏔❤
Our favorite video of yours guys! Our hearts were racing just watching you climb! So exciting and incredible at the same time. Well worth it for those views and the feeling of overcoming your fears at the end.
You two are most brave couple on the internet❣️ thank you so much for bringing the climb to us. God bless you both.
Just started watching and catching up with all of your incredible adventure trips all over the world , and you guys are really made for each other , be safe and keep making wonderful memories, God bless.,
Thank you so much for making such videos. It's amazing. I feel like I would never be able to do it due to some health issues, so experiencing this through your video is the best thing I can do to get as close to that ladder as possible.
My anxiety was RAGING during this entire episode. I don’t think I could do something like this (extremely terrified of heights), but thank you for letting us live vicariously through you on these adventures. I look forward to your vlogs every week. Thank you! ❤
My heart was in my throat the entire time they were on the ladder and going up past it. I am terrified of heights too and I could just feel my own heart beating a mile a minute, even knowing they made it through. I was even nervous when they were standing by the cross because it seemed so close to the edge. I love all their videos and seeing adventures through them.
Me too!!
ME TOO! there was even a few times i had to look away lol
The fear sweat would have my helmet geysering straight off my head.
SAME and im already very nervous for something this week, so this did not help...but I love it and them :))
I love how encouraging Nate is to Kara
I've watched EVERY single one of your videos, my loves... and nothing has ever scared me more than this did. Even though I know you are both fine and made it through this, I'm terrified right now. My heart is actually racing and I can't imagine anything scarier than this. Kudos to you both, though, for not only doing this but for RECORDING it so we can see it. Unreal. Love you guys! ❤
Funny how the mind works. You know they survived and yet, we are taking every step with them, every heart beat and every bit of sweat. YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING. Thank You
I love that you guys still enjoy each other's company so much after all these years. You guys are fun!!
WOW....I'm blown away watching you two facing your fears. The bond you have and love and admiration is soo beautiful. By far the best video on utube to watch and the breathtaking views are astounding. Congratulations to you both ...... So happy I found you on utube. Can't wait to see your videos! Love you both and may God always have a "wall of protection" around you both!
Amazing video and such a beautiful couple!
My hands and feet are SWEATING as I'm watching Kara climbing up the ladder. You guys are amazing and have such a talent for making me feel like I'm right there with you. So so proud of you!
MINE are STILL DRIPPING
✨🤍💦🤍✨
Sameee
Amazing efforts 🏞️🏔️⛰️ breathtaking views . Humble Request to add back down clips also. Stay blessed 💞
So inspiring..but ill keep hiking here in Canada..You two are super infectious..im hooked .Massive kudos to you both
Man I was getting nauseated just watching you both climb. I couldn’t look for most of it. You guys totally nailed it. Wow!!! Amazing !!!
I was sitting on the edge of my couch with my heart about to come out of my chest you guys doing that ladder up that mountain. Your video editing is top notch! What a stunning place!
Having lived in the alps, I know that no photo can give off the real drama of the nature there. And I know how it must be terribly scary! Incredible of you two! I would never dare, my heart was racing watching you ❤
Kara you are my hero! What a brave gal to go first on the ladder 😱 and then still have to climb even higher! My limit is a ski lift. You are amazing! 🥰
Nate's an absolute beast at everything he does, but Kara totally encompasses my mantra of "do it scared" and you're both SO inspiring. Maybe I'm not climbing a mountain but when I'm scared I think of all the people that do it scared, and that gives me a lot of strength to continue pushing myself in life ❤️ You guys are epic ⭐️
I never heard of "do it scared, " but I like it! And it makes so much sense. My mantra is Seek Discomfort, (from Yes Theory) So my new mantra will be Seek Discomfort, do it scared! Thanks for sharing!
That is an amazing mantra and I appreciate this perspective so much!! Thank you for sharing!! Kara & Nate are epic, and you are too!! 💫
I love this so much! I was a competitive equestrian for years and I would always be so nervous and never felt “ready” to move up a level. But somewhere along the journey I saw a similar quote saying you’ll never feel ready, you just do it scared. And i told myself that over and over and eventually went to national level (was never a winner lol but I did it and survived which is what counted for me). Just do it scared!
@Kris Very similar in meaning. Somethings just require fear/discomfort, that's how we grow 🌱
@Julia Hatter Right back at you ❤️
You guys are awesome and brave!👏 Me and wife burned so much calories and dead tired after watching this video 😅 Can't believe you were able to record all along as well! Amazing! 🤟
It warms my heart to watch these two, obviously in-love humans live their life to fullest every day. Thank you for sharing your travels with us!
my feet's feeling funny most of the time watching this.... bless you both! such stamina and grit! my heart's shouting "get down those stairs Kara!" such respect for you both.
Kara you are such a role model for the young and the old ... You can do anything! You're 1 of a kind my friend!
Just watched you both on Matt & Abby & now im addicted i have been binge watching & damn you two are amazing love the support you show each other great content.
the way they encourage each other, kara with doing everything nate’s wild mind comes to & nate cheering her on and helping her through the hardest parts with no judgment! honestly beautiful ❤
You guys are so brave! I could never do that. Love you guys so much❤.
I literally am in awe of you guys. So proud you did it and I’m forever grateful for you two. I could cry.
I'm rewatching this footage for... I don't know how many times now. I am literally in tears celebrating with you guys as you both hug the cross at the peak. I am just in awe! You two are beyond inspiring! I don't watch TV, but your channel is my weekly TV show.
I've been climbing all my life and I love how you show all the emotions. That's how I always feel and this is very nicely described. I have much less anxiety now, but it never goes away completely.
I just started bouldering and am terrified of heights, but this is most definitely getting added to my bucket list. You guys are amazingly insane in the most awesome way! Thanks for trying amazing things for the rest of us!
Kara never ceases to amaze me!! She’s so courageous and so strong. I have crazy anxiety with heights and she’s so calm and is so positive!
Me too. My palms are sweating watching them climb.
Thanks for doing this for me! LOL. I'm not physically in good enough shape to climb like that, but I have lived it through you guys.
3 min in the video, I don't know if you mention it later but actually, the story behind vies ferrates is quite interesting, they were created in order to help armies move through mountains in war times. Now, normal people like us are able to enjoy them
I love watching your channel and the incredible adventures that you do, but I must say that I could not watch this one. I am so afraid of heights that I could not even watch without getting sick. I’m so glad that you guys made it up and down safely.
You deserve all the awards for not only doing this challenge, but getting those camera angles at the same time with a team of two! WOAH!
Hey Kara and Nate! I just wanted to say thank you for being an inspiration to me for so long. I started watching your travel vlogs in 7th grade during the Trans Siberian Railway series and completely fell in love with you guys and your videos. Now, I’m a senior in high school and have probably watched every single one of your videos at least twice! You also inspired my love for travel and it’s one of the reasons I have decided to go to university in Prague next year! So, thank you for all you do. I hope you guys know how much your videos mean to your followers, even the younger ones :) -Anya Martin from Eugene, Oregon
That is so cool, Anya!!! Thank you so much for the support and encouragement. So glad you have enjoyed our videos for so long 🥰🌏❤️
Have a great senior yr. Believe memories from your life will just come out of no where when you get older, so make them count. And good luck in Prague next yr. Wishing you only prosperity love and peace in your life.
@Anya Martin I totally agree! They are the best!!
@Kara and Nate I love your videos
@Kara and Nate ❤ I really appreciate you taking time to make these amazing videos for us
What a crazy fun thing to do together! Living vicariously thru your blogs!!!!
All I kept thinking when ya'll reached the top was "You are only half way there! You need to get down!" I was so glad to hear Kara say that going down was worse. I would need a helicopter to meet me at the top to take me down. Good job guys! You're both incredible!
There is a (steep and not easy) hiking path down from the peak. But I strangely enough find walking down a difficult and very steep path significantly less scary than hiking up. One reason is that going up you add the physical exertion of going up the equivalent of stairs in thin air to the psychological fear of slipping and falling.
Let’s all take a moment to appreciate that Kara and Nate are so outgoing and funny. Like they quite literally were climbing small ladders above a HUGE mountain! Keep up the good work!! 😇😇😇
that was so intense. You two are the real deal with these challenges. I wish you had a Kara and Nate sticker to apply to the cross even if it's illegal... lol. I am so proud of you. that is all. :)
That looks so amazing but absolutely frightening lol. I have a major fear I heights, but I think I would try it. But totally with you Kara if anyone was trying to get on the ladder with me I would not move until they got off 😅
That was incredible! I was sick to my stomach the whole time watching. I don’t know what was more impressive the sheer fact that you guys did it or the fact that you were filming and manning a drone while doing it. You guys are incredible!
I would be a 7 out of 10 because doing scary things is hard but as Kara said it is always rewarding in the end. You guys have done so many hard but amazing things and if I didn’t know who y’all were I would say you guys could climb mt everest
Wow, I was missing the reflection in the lake because I couldn't see past the cloud and then I realized just how crystal clear that water is 😍
Damn this is my favorite couple on the internet. I love how positive you are. I started my 2023 watching you. Very inspiring.
I am terrified of heights and can't imagine ever doing this.
The incredible footage you guys took during this climb has made this one of my favorite videos of yours! What an incredible opportunity! You guys killed it!
I agree the footage was amazing!!
I'm so proud of the both of you both. Nate you are so encouraging.
My tired and disabled body lives the wildest dreams through your videos. Whenever you climb the hardest mountains or swim the scariest sea, I feel I’ve done it with you. That’s how good your videos are. Thank you ❤x
@ Joanna Foley I'm right there with you! I feel I'm living vicariously through them and I'm enjoying every moment!!
Me too! My disabled body feels the same way! They 're fresh air! Even if this was sooooo scary just watching! 🤪😂
The same here too, just amazing to watch. Xx
Their videos really are a blessing to so many who for a variety of reasons would have no other way to experience these adventures. Their dedication to bringing us along for the ride and providing such an immersive experience is just amazing, and I hope they see your comment and know just how much we appreciate it.
@Julia Hatter I agree 100%. I appreciate them so much ❤️
I have an odd phobia - I fear watching people fall from high places. I avoided watching this but I’m happy I did - because you two are absolute LEGENDS. Like how on Earth did you not only climb that damn ladder but also produce such beautiful videography?!? I’m in utter awe at your accomplishments! Very well done. I still wouldn’t do it, but I admire you both.
I was literally anxious and sweating just watching this video. You two are seriously amazing and make me want to step out of my comfort zone even more (definitely could never do this) you guys just smiled through the whole thing even though you were terrified and the constant encouragement and validation made me want to cry. Love you guys so much.
i really wish I can be out there on that mountain taking in the views, I can only imagine it to be infinitely peaceful and soul healing!
You two are so amazing. Climbing that thing is one thing but filming while climbing and flying a drone to boot. You make beautiful vlogs. What next??? I love you two.
My knees were wobbly just watching every minute of this epic adventure!!!!! Just when I think you two couldn’t out do yourselves you go and do it!! Well done to both of you!! Just amazing!!
Right - no problem for me to ride at very high speeds (at the race track) but to what them going up that ladder - oh boy 😱😱😬
what an experience! smiling along with you the whole way.. well, maybe not the whole way 😛 We laughed a bit too hard at Kara reaching for the tickets and they were behind the screen 😂 proud of you both. I, Aimee B the great would have smashed this too, but Craig nearly cried just watching it haha! GO TEAM!
You guys would do great. I forget that Craig doesn't like heights.
Hi Kinging It!! Love to see you guys cheering on your friends and fellow UAclipsrs!! Love your videos and adventures too!! Can't wait to see your trip to Norway!! ❤️
My legs are gonna turn into jelly, I can't even begin to be 10 feet up that mountain. Gosh. This is insane!
the dedication nate has to get good shots. literally flying a drone in the side of a MOUNTAIN🤯🤯
You're both insane, but in a good way. You couldn't pay me enough to do that. I can't even climb a ladder onto my roof, let alone one that's suspended between two mountains with a drop that large. I was holding onto my seat watching those POVs. 😱😵 Well done!
I honestly have not ever watched a video where my heart was beating out of my chest so much. You guys are authentic, adventurous and kind souls and I have adored watching your epic adventures over the years. But more importantly I love watching the character you have as you approach life. I feel like I just ran a marathon watching this 😅
So proud of you guys well done!
The fact that you filmed and did this simultaneously is absolutely incredible!
I can’t believe how fearless they are! 😅
My thoughts exactly!!!!!! ~Cara 😆
These routes/trails with fixed cables are called “Klettersteig”. I think he explained it well…it’s a mix of hiking and climbing, usually in terrain that requires fixed cables or ladders in order to be “hikable”. In Europe Klettersteige are considered harder than hiking but easier than technical mountaineering or climbing. It’s a rather safe option with the extra thrill.
Guys, my heart is pounding watching this and I literally feel nauseous lol! Kudos to you for doing this, I can't believe what you two do, you're both amazing! Love your videos!
Seeing everyone is so impressed and shocked about it makes me think I may be a bit different. I'm 14, I have done the climb and to be honest I wasn't even that scared to hang from the ladder.
I’m just watching this adventure and want to thank you for the totally awesome and crazy climb you did. I get to live this through you two.
Kara, you are so incredibly brave, you and Nate have to be the best support system ever. There’s no way I would do this now however in my younger I probably would seriously consider it, but 35 years ago it wasn’t on anyones radar I knew. Please do remain conscious of your limitations and remain safe. Sending love and appreciation for your U tube adventures! ❤
I sweated the whole time watching this. You two are an inspiration! Also, the way he encouraged and praised her for her accomplishments was super sweet 🙂
You have officially crossed over from UAclipsrs to Thrill Seekers. One of my favorite videos! The 360 camera shots were amazing. The drone shots were SUPER epic. You guys are cray-zee, very brave and full of talent.
A Japanese tv show covered this “ladder to heaven” and I’ve been wondering what the traverse is like up to and around the area would be like. Thank you so much for giving the in-depth look into the journey!
I would 100% do this but I don’t know how my 156cm height would handle some of the courses…
OMG I can't believe you guys just did that! MY HEART was in my BUTT the whole climb!!! You guys are awesome.
I can't even express how badly I want to do this. It's been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember! Can't wait till the day I do it :)
I usually skip through vlogs because it's mostly boring but this...THIS WAS EPIC. I was at the seat of my pants the ENTIRE time. Thank you for filming this. You guys are so inspiring. One of these days, after 1000 hikes/climbs up other mountains (ha!), I hope to build up the courage to try this.
Wow just wow! Just watching this I have that jelly feeling in my stomach from heights. Be very proud of yourselves because that takes an incredible amount of courage and mental gymnastics to keep going. I certainly wouldn’t be able to do it.
Can we all just appreciate how supportive Nate is!
Yes!! I just really love the way these two love each other. It’s always a joy to witness
I’ve watched numerous videos over the years where influencers do exciting, and sometimes dangerous activities for their channels. And then there’s you guys that always do take us on these awesome, very unique, and sometimes dangerous adventures. What’s really great is that you take us to spectacular places that most of us would never see had you not taken us along. Although you make these videos as a source of income, and as great way to see the world, but I can tell that you really care about the quality, and entertainment value of your videos, and always strive to make them as good as possible. Here you are, hiking up the side of a mountain while hooked on cables, but regardless of how difficult it probably was, you guys took amazing videos of each other climbing. It’s simply amazing what you do to entertain us week. Thank you!
Big love, huge courage (specially Kara) and so happy couple who truly love each other! Bravo and thank you for sharing with us such a breathtaking journey. 😍🤪👏
My entire body is tingly and I feel like passing out just watching this. Good job guys! LOL
I can’t wait to travel the world and see places like Kara and Nate someday
This is my favourite video of yours so far and that's saying something. This was absolutely sublime to watch, as good as anything out there on any platform right now. Even though you're clipped on, the difficulty level and some of those ascents were spine-tingling! Much love.
Y’all inspire me so much. Especially you, Kara. Lots of love to Nate too, but girl the way you push through fear because you know the end result will be so worth it never ceases to amaze me. You’ve helped me get outside my comfort zone and have experiences i wouldn’t have had otherwise. Thank you all so much for sharing your journey with us, I hope you know just how much we appreciate it. Keep being you, keep shining!! 🥹✨❤️
Wow, just wow!!! You two are so dynamic, a perfect couple! It's so sweet that you've found each other, your both so encouraging and supportive of each other. What fun adventures you two crazy, fun people let us follow along with you on. Loved it!!!
I swore through all of this 😂😂😂 , you guys always surprise me and make me smile xx
Yall do the most for your channel and were all here for it! Love the content ❤ amazing video like always
I think people know if they can do certain tasks like this. And I love what you guys do and just now found your site and have subscribed just to watch you. Been to Austria but never ever would attempt what you do. And that is fine with me because I can enjoy watching you and feel the thrill of just watching you at my age of 74. It's all good.
