Structural integrity of the rim has left the chat
Steel wheels are crazy resilient. I've bent some gnarly wheels back to round and used them for years afterwards

Once the steel has been heated, also known as annealing, it changes the structure of the atoms and molecules that are aligned during the forging and quenching processes used when it was made new. This is why a knife blade, for instance, is tempered, and heat treated so the blade has a harder portion and a more ductile portion. One can not set an edge on the non-tempered side of the blade. It is softer not capable of holding an edge. If you heat the harder side that the edge is set on, it will soften the steel, and the blade will not hold an edge and can break depending on the alloy. So to say that "restoring " bending this destroyed rim is "as good as new is very inaccurate. It may be round again but will not be capable of withstanding the same wear and tear that the original could prior to the "squaring " abuse. It is basic metallurgy. I work with metal daily as a structural steel builder, so when most read this, they'll say, "He don't know shit." I'm not losing sleep over it.

@K. I. T. Только они продают не как запаску. Да и какая разница? Металл тоже уставший, при достаточном ускорении он деформируется и вуаля, авария. Колесо широкое, не докатка. Значит даже используя как запаску, на нем будут мчать с привычной человеку скоростью. Эти люди- потенциальные убийцы.

Actually if a wheel bends even a little bit in frame it can’t be used again because after steel is bent from it’s factory form it’s looses structure from the inside making it easy to bend so next time you go slightly harder over a curb that wheel will split in half

Yeah I would have tossed both for safety reasons. But in other countries you have to make due with what you have. Looks good.

I got a dent in my rim when I hit a hot hole at 19mph, and the tire popped due to the dent in the rim. When I took it to the shop, they told me that I needed a whole new rim, and so I got a what looks like a new rim lol
They really got that customer squared away 🤣

It's not the sidewall that got patched this job is fine just a shitty plug quality, interior plug are way better at holding pressure

You don't get much about work-hardening and metallurgy, do you? Bending steel makes it weaker
Amazing work but I will just buy new rims or use the spare tire (spare that exactly same of normal tire , not the donut tires spare) till I purchase a new rims and tire . Once bent , it could bent again easily , better to buy stronger rims too.

The metal has already lost its strength and may have developed microscopic cracks which could prove fatal if the same rim is repaired. Life is more important than saving money over the new rim.

На видео диски разные. Сначала диск в центре не имеет ни одной царапины, а потом когда стал более ровным, большие царапины появились в середине
После обработки огнём диск стал пластилиновым, до первой ямки. И как шина после этого осталась целой, её должно было пережевать.

@some irish fella I’ve been not sure even before the movie, Irish. No I thought he would patch the tire on the inside while it was off the rim instead of just putting that plug in it after it was inflated. That’s all I was saying ….have a good one.
