  • Today we learn How to make hot sauce from scratch!! This is a simple hot sauce made from fresh red hot chili peppers and a few other simple ingredients. Once you learn how to make hot sauce easy way then you can test different flavor combinations to make a hot sauce your own way.

    Hey, i'm not sure if this has been covered. When you said you like a "thinner Sauce", you followed through with that technique if you blend it while its still hot you have that "Tabasco" consistency. What if I like mine THICC? not a fan of thin/runny sauces, do i use less vinegar? Let it turn cold before blending? Thanks!

      both! The more vinegar you add the more watery it will be, and the longer you let it cool, the longer it will come together and the thicker it will become

    Why are you cooking it? Salt, vinegar and peppers(chilies) a bottle and a blender. Oh and more "manly" peppers like Ghost, Reapers or Hab's if that's all you have . The adding one hot pepper for heat crap leads to poor hot sauce. Check it!

      Better far better. If you use good vinegar (strong) you could pour it in a rusty can and it would never go bad. Please use a clean glass bottle I was being a bit hyperbolic but still. Oh and use all one kind of pepper none of that "adding one really hot one for heat crap" Low heat? you low heat peppers High heat*(my kind) use high heat peppers(chilies) Sorry for the rant.

    I tried this recipe with ripe red jalapeños and apple cider vinegar it came out great! The puree didn't want to sieve through the mesh strainer so I bottled it straight up. Thanks for making this video!

    Did this with carolina reapers last year. Using cayenne long thins this year because honestly the carolina reapers were like mustard gas and radioactive waste

    Need to let the all the ingredients sit for a few days before blending them to a sauce, not in fridge just covered and at room temp , thickness can be adjusted as well as heat before bottling

    You know u could use a herb blender to dust chilli seeds and peppers then bottle it to make it hotter and use less vinerger ,

      Thank you so much!!! Im stoked you like it! This is kinda like my base sauce... from here you can play with the flavors a bit.. smoke the chilies, use different peppers, add sweet peppers with some hot peppers! its endless!! So glad you enjoyed it

      It'll last a few months in the fridge, room temp if not sealed maybe a day or two.

    Hi, nice video, want to ask if I don't bottle this and just let it remain in an open bowl and refrigerate it and consume it within 3-4 days, will the flavors be as strong?
    Also, can I use dried red chili peppers instead of fresh and will there be a loss of taste and flavor? Thanks

      Thanks for your reply. I did try making it with dried chili peppers. The spiciness was just too strong for me, my mouth started burning just by one drop of sauce.

      It'll last for 3-4 days covered in the fridge for sure... the dried chili peppers will change the taste and texture for sure but I'm sure itll be good

      @Sauce Stache I've made two batches so far... first one was a Hungarian chilli pepper sauce with some ghost peppers and a few habaneros for extra heat, added a little pineapple juice. So good with a little sweetness. Next was a jalapeno lime sauce, also added a couple ghost peppers and juice and a little roasted garlic as well. The opportunities are endless. Thanks for the video, you really got me inspired to keep making different blends.
