This was the most terrifying storm we got over 2 feet of water inside the house and we were lucky to just survive this. Pray for everyone please.
Omg please be safe
Please be safe
Prayers
I’ll be praying🙏🏻
Where you located? So sorry for your loss; may your recovery be safe and fast.
Prayers for the Florida residents and prayers for everyone involved on the islands. I pray my family and friends in Brunswick Georgia get out ok also
What I love most about America...Not one person during this disaster has asked which political party they belong to. If only we could maintain that level of compassion and humanity.
Um, we all credit our Republican governor for the incredible response...
My great grandmother and grandma are down there right now in Englewood, I am so worried for them I want to cry. I just hope everyone in that area will be ok 😢
I’ll pray for them for you🥺💕
Don't worry, they will be fine. They will have stories to tell you. Be strong. One more day and rescues will begin. May you find peace and your grandmas in fine form.
Hope they are safe
Call them?
I pray that they are ok. God is good.❤
Goodness!!! Be safe my fellow countrymen in Florida!!
I hope you have gotten to safety.
May the Lord protect you!

I live in Jacksonville and this storm swerved past right above us. We got a lil rain but that was it. We rarely get hit by hurricanes here. Last one I can remember is Irma. Lost power for 3 days but not too much damage on the westside. Dorian came close but we got no rain, it was just a windstorm.
I’m on west coast, eye supposed to hit us soon. Our back yard was flooded out before the storm even made landfall. Pray for us please
Stay safe mam I hope you and you family make it out of this safe
MAY THE LORD BE WITH YOU PLEASE GET AS HIGH AS YOU CAN AND PLEASE PRAY TO YOUR LORD JESUS🙏🏽🙏🏽
Asking for protection for you and everyone that live where you are. Stay encouraged, I know that’s easy said than done😔 I’m praying for you all.

God bless you and your family
Wow devastating hopefully everyone gets the help they need, may god be with you all.
I hope the people and animals were able to make it out alive 💔
We live in Tampa Florida I plead the blood of Jesus over my windows and my doors we have fallen trees around us and branches everywhere my back porch is leaking quite a bit the winds were howling and scary thank God we're okay my dad is in Manatee County and he is in an old folks Community in a old trailer and he made it as well however the strangest thing is our power was working and it never shut off that was weird I've never seen wind like that I couldn't believe it praise God we made it through my prayers go out to all of you suffering through the storm this was a giant nightmare as of now we're still feeling some howling winds and thuds on our roof
Prayers for all affected in the storm, im 80 miles north and still had roof damage
Praying for you all!!!Love from Texas!!!♥️💙
All the people calling for 911, I really pray for all the families, it is horrific😢
911 cannot help them until the storm passes. It's devastating but I wish they would have heed the warnings.
Send your thoughts and prayers quick! It will help them!!
Thats funny. They were told to evacuate. God is probably shaking his head right now with disappointment 🤦♂️
Florida people have been very naughty for god to punish them like this. Or is it because of De Santis, who knows. You need to mend your ways.
I live in Cape Coral. I was lucky and didn’t get flooded. Prayers for all those who are suffering
Great news❤️
my heart goes out to all that suffered at this monsters fury.
Here In Polk the storm has been on us for about 6 hours with wind very strong don’t know how much longer this will last but prayers out to everyone please check on your loved ones
My deepest condolences to the family and God bless you all 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

As a direct victim of hurricane Ida last year, I certainly feel for the people in west FL right now. We didn't get the water level like Ian. I hate to say it, but the devastating storms are getting more frequent in the Gulf. With the rise in sea level and global warming together, respect for these storms need to increase along with the threat.
will California have to suffer this or just around Florida?
@@manhoeban Hurricane Ian will not reach California...
HAARP. Not " global warming"

The part where I live in Florida barely got hit. It was just a bunch of rain and wind. I don't know why they canceled school for the rain. That's literally normal weather for us. But hopefully everyone who got hit is ok.
probably just to play it safe cause you never know. glad your area wasnt hit bad.
Because school buses can’t drive in over like 40mph winds and much of Florida was getting way over that.
prayer to all the people that have to go thru this , be safe guys
We live where the hurricane is going to impact us with lots of heavy rain and high winds today and tommorrow and apparently my family does not want to leave so I'm kinda worried and all of the schools shut down. But I know that God will protect me and my family! Stay safe with everyone who is impacted by it! ❤
i have a question how will god protect you if god doesn’t exactly help us anyway im not an atheist just asking
Hurricane Michael made landfall on the Florida Panhandle as a category 5 storm in October 2018.
The same kinds of powerful storms happening all over the world today within only weeks ago. So were not alone with is kind of mayhem. Many other nations are going through the same and are just beginning rebuilding after storms struck.
How sad. God bless all who were effected.
You are all forgetting Michael. 😔 Anyone in the Panama to Big Bend area can tell you what this was capable of.
My mom was in Panama City with hurricane Michael. Devastating :(
I know right!? I was thinking the same thing!!!! 850 strong 🤟🏻 praying for my friends and family down south though..(cape coral )

My family and I took refuge in our kitchen in our home here in Cape Coral because it was the center most area of our house and being that I have Autism, ADHD and OCD I was checking my front door repetitively hoping the storm surge water was not in our street and I was so thankful to God Almighty that the storm surge water never came to our street our neighborhood.
Wow, I was in the storm but it wasn’t bad should be just the power went out and we had intense rain and even a tropical tornado and now hurricane Idalia made landfall in Florida, and now is in Canada, and we almost got hit by hurricane Idalia but we just got a bit of rain not that much.
Ian sounds like the identical twin of 1917 Maria when it passed through Puerto Rico.Almost the same winds force (150 vs 155 miles per hour), trajectory speed and hurricane size!
Didn't Maria pass through in 2017 instead of 1917 or was there one also in 1917?

I'm right on the GA FL line literally near Okefenokee Swamp and headwaters of the Suwannee river 2 milea drom the FL line and we are already getting strong gusts here. A lot of people coming up 41 to evacuate but I just have a bad feeling about this storm. Micheal 2as supposed to hit us but turned towards the panhandle last minute. So i know it can turn and change course a bit. Really having a bad feeling but maybe it's worry about my friend in winter park FL,anyone in the comments in or near Orlando FL? If so how is it?
I’m in Winter Garden, it’s a cat 1 now and nothing serious has happened here. Just feels like a heavy rainstorm with strong winds. Winter Park is 30 minutes east of here, I’m guessing it’s the same for them or slightly better.
Wtf man🤦🏽♂️ I pray for everybody that had to go through this madness… god bless you all

They don't call em "BARRIER ISLANDS" for nothing , sadly people build cheap buildings on them, which are ok, until the "BIG ONE" Hits.

Crazy thing is I was in it it's was a category 4 about 155 Mph winds my house roof was destroyed later coast guard came out and loaded us up it was the scariest thing of my life.
One thing that can happen if this keeps going on is Florida being gone because some places from the past sank in the ocean because it flooded so Florida might go away 😢😢😢 but thank god some of us don’t have to go through this bad situation ❤❤🙏🙏

Not everyone got money to leave and God does protect people because he created the storm he created everything.
A lot of people have strong ass houses. For the people on the beach, I can’t say but I understand not wanting to leave your home knowing it won’t be there when you get back. It’s hard. Also this hurricane strengthens to a major hurricane overnight.
😱Meu Deus 🥺
I hope nobody was injured. That is high storm surge. Prayers.
I’m in Cape Coral but not flood zone thankfully but still got a lot of damage
Other than some business which use landlines to connect their credit card machines to banking networks. No one uses a phone anymore that requires a wire to the home. The telephone manholes are now used only for fiber optic cables which are only 1 inch in diameter. All the cables in the telephone vaults are pressurized and waterproof. Fiber optic cables use only 3% of the space in the telephone cable vault's conduits.
😔 It's so sad how bad it's getting every time hurricane hit Florida but The Bible say a lot of things will come to this world things that you can even imagine that it will happen past end days get closer to the world
Florida hasn't encountered a hurricane for five years. Prior to 2016, almost 11 years went by without a single hurricane landfall anywhere in Florida.
Michael.
This is incorrect. Michael was a Cat 5 and struck the panhandle a few years back.
Bull. Mexico beach was flattened by cat 5 Michael
Hurricane Michael was extremely devastating
We got hit by Irma just 2-3 years ago.
Damn, these are sick waves! Surfboard enjoyers probably have blessed season.
As bad as they kept saying this storm was going up be for days . It seems a lot stayed and did not
But still I pray 4 the people in Florida 🙏

You say your car -- the car you left sitting in a ground level parking lot 50 feet off the beach where a Cat 4 hurricane was forecast to hit -- got flooded? Well that's weird. No way you could have seen that coming.
There is no raised parking on Fort Myers beach.
@@SWFLAerialGuy Sounds like a great reason (along with several hundred others) to leave Fort Meyers BEFORE the well advertised hurricane hits.

*1 of 4* Cities can eliminate homeless tent encampments by replacing them with *Homeless Shelter Villages* [HSV] using _Pallet Shelter's_ existing *Homeless Shelter Village* [HSV] components. The _Community Room_ sells for $37,000 and serves as a shared laundry room, restaurant, *child daycare center,* and addiction services center. The _Bathroom_ cost $35,000 and the _Services Office_ costs $9,000. So for only $81,000 a city can establish a *Homeless Shelter Village* [HSV]. The 10'X10' *Camping Cube Sport Pop Up Tent* that costs only $120 provides protection from the elements; for two people and their belongings.

This is so sad. 😢
This is really common though sadly
This is insane…😮

The question is how can you prevent damage to coastal communities by hurricane? What can you do to prepare for the onslaught? What is the impact that you want to deter? You do not have to imagine the damage. You can see it now.
You prevent the tragedy of it by not living there.
Was terrifying in Wauchula.
I still don’t understand why you’d leave your car there. You literally had days to leave
I think most are rental cars.
Damn, imagine sharks swimming through the streets
Big possibility, warm water, 9ft water, by the beach.
Thats what i was thinkin bout. Its definitely gone be sharks
Some people knew there would be sharks as well as alligators and cottonmouths, Florida is a God damn swamp.
This is the kind of thing that would keep me from ever staying behind for a hurricane.
These are the component to create *Homeless Shelter Villages* [HSV] using _Pallet Shelter's_ existing HSV products: the _Community Room_ sells for $37,000, the _Bathroom_ costs $35,000, and the _Services Office_ costs $9,000. So for only $81,000 a city can establish a HSV. The two person _Shelter 64_ costs $7,000. 100 X $7,000 = $700,000. For $781,000 the city can establish a HSV for 200 residents. For $160 million a city can establish 205 HSVs to shelter 41,000 residents.
The reporters knowingly sacrificed the rentals cars for their expedition.
Forget that. They're risking their well being every time they do this.
Exactly. Totally unnecessary and puts others lives at risk if they require rescue.
You know exactly what you get living
In Florida.
This could happen every year.
Hope they purchased the extra insurance on those rental cars considering they just admitted on live television that they parked them in an area that they expected to get flooded.
funny thing, when you live down here, most ins companies will not cover flooding. they all tell you to evacuate or get to higher land, that there is pleanty time to move your vehicle.
What are did anyone not expect to flood?

At a United Nations roundtable on Wednesday, a group of builders, engineers, and architects debuted a concept for an affordable floating city. Unlike instances in the past when these futuristic designs have been met with skepticism, the executive director of the _United Nations Human Settlement Programme_ (UN-Habitat), Maimunah Mohd Sharif, said the UN would support and shepherd this project to fruition. *Paragraph 5 of 5.* *Build and anchor these floating cities for the homeless ON LAND that has already been flooded or will be flooded in the future.* _The UN is supporting a design for a new floating city that can house the homeless while withstanding a Category 5 hurricane_ _Oceanix_ envisions the villages within about a mile of major coastal cities. The platforms could also be towed to safer locations in the event of a disaster. The platforms would be bolstered by Biorock, a material created by exposing underwater minerals to an electric current. This leads to the formation of a limestone coating that's three times harder than concrete, but can still be made to float. The substance becomes stronger with age and can even repair itself as long as it's still exposed to the current. This allows it to withstand harsh weather conditions. "Cities really start and fail by how well they manage water," engineer Bry Sarté told the UN on Wednesday. In a disaster scenario, machine generators could pull air from the atmosphere, condense it into water, and filter it for impurities like metal or bacteria. These machines pull clean drinking water out of thin air, and they might be a solution to the global water crisis.* In addition to homes, the city would feature a spiritual center, cultural center, and communal library, where residents could rent computers and bicycles as well as books. All buildings would be constructed out of sustainable materials like timber and bamboo. They're also designed to be disassembled so that future generations of architects can reconfigure the concept.
