Words fail to describe how unbelievably happy I am that Pikmin 4 is, not only a real game that's actually happening, but releasing in just a little over a month. I really never thought I would see the day.
All these years of waiting for it, and Olimar is still a terrible pilot.

@Every% I think there is theories as to why it always happens and people speculate it’s the plasm wraith that does it there’s theory videos on it. Idk if it’s bc their ships are bad I doubt it
I love that Olimar always appears in each game but I hope there are other returning characters too. I've always had a feeling that Louie held more than just one dark secret so hoping we get more info on him and a return of the Water/Plasm Wraith
Louie will definitely make an appearance, if he isn't somehow the final boss where we find out he manipulated Olimar's ship and made him crash or something

I have been waiting for a new pikmin for what seems like a decade but from what I've seen so far, the wait is worth it. The game looks amazing.

Pikmin is such a fun, inventive, and unique series. More people should play it.

3 was my first Pikmin game, it's hard to explain but the best way I can describe it is the gameplay was relaxing/therapeutic. Definitely going to get this one

Just hearing Olimar is in the game makes it worth buying😌 Also your own character is really cool!! I do hope we get an Olimar side mission like in Pikmin 3 Deluxe (love that little guy)

It is a little weird seeing a create your own character feature in a character focused game like Pikmin, but as long as there are strong personalities as always I am still excited!
Pikmin has a very simple story

@descender Not necessarily, Pikmin is known for it’s very streamlined gameplay so they don’t really HAVE to show it off. Pikmin fans know what to expect when it comes to it, so giving us something NEW is exciting, besides the story, of course.

@descender well if yall keep up with the trailers the last one gave us plenty of new features and gameplay footage. Such as ice pikmin, night time, and the new doggie. Now they are showing character customization so seems like it's going to be a great game.
Out of AAAAALLLL the features I was hoping for 10 years, I could never imagine a character creator and a dog! I am so hyped for Pikmin 4!

i have but one complaint abt pikmin 4, and thats the fact that the dog, having been allegedly based on bulbmin, almost assures that bulbmin will not return ): but they were my favorite pikmin type

You got it backwards. Oatchi is a Bulby. Bulbies are dogs and the namesake of Bulborbs, because Olimar named them after his.
I’m old enough to remember the first Pikmin. Seeing a 4th installment for the switch made this 30 year old freak out. Really stoked for this.
Pikmin is super underrated. I really hope that this game can help it grow more popular.

Was already hyped for this game, now even more so with the character creator!
I think with this character creator it just makes the game more immersive as you get to make your personal character. Which I think was a pretty good idea for them to add into the game
I like it. I wonder how names will work? It seems that you do pick a name at the end of the character creation but usually the voice actors pronounce names like in Pikmin 2 and 3.
Two of my favorite franchises releasing games in one year. Couldn't be happier about it!

@Theonetruewonderflyseeing how people haven’t been able to play as olimar but instead find his records and whatnot in pikmin 3 they really don’t mind, neither do I naturally as well
Omg I am so excited for this! Getting to make my own captain is also great! I wish this was out now! I have a count down on my phone just for this. I REALLY hope there is a demo soon so I can get even more excited!

Okay, I'm super excited about a new Pikmin game, but can we also take a moment to appreciate how good the VA here was? I'm used to the English localization voiceovers for Nintendo games sounding overly polished/professional, resulting in a stiff and unnatural voiceover. But this guy absolutely hit it out of the park with his line deliveries. Props to him and the voice directing!
Finished the trilogy recently, very captivated with the gameplay and overall atmosphere. May your patience be rewarded nicely, Pikmin fans

My family and I love Pikmin! My 6 year old asks me daily how long till this one comes out. She is so excited to see what new pikmin may appear and for the new dog. Can’t wait to enjoy this with her. I wish it were 4 players so we could all play together.

All the stories were pretty good to me i assume this would be as good as the previous games

I swear this looks so freaking cool just from the short little tiny teaser trailer that we got like I really really hope that it's as fun if not more fun than all of the other picnic games have ever been I hope that they bring batcaves I hope that we have a nice long game that we can play for hours and hours and hours and not finish in like a single Play sitting if we're like good at the game like I'm so hopeful for this
looks awesome. my only concern is that games with character creators tend to forget to give said characters any semblance of a personality, but maybe they could do something similar to pikmin 1 where your choices during the game impact the ending.

For being a colorfully adorable game, it’s a pretty compelling and challenging RTS - not to mention, incredibly morbid. 😅

With each game the emphasis that this "mysterious oxygen-rich planet" is our very own Earth becomes more and more clear- I really hope the story does something with that

@DETahaX Considering Star Fox Zero made them lose money so it is never being touched again and they no longer find it F-Zero or EarthBound profitable
@John Shea So did Pikmin 3 and now we got Pikmin 4. The Wii U didn't sell well, and games re-released on Switch sold way better because of the install size (same with Kirby even). If they were to do the same with SF0, it would be considered much more profitable. It's not that they don't see their franchises profitable, it's about their will to make a great game and market it well. If Itoi (or someone at Nintendo willing to take up the challenge and convince the company higher-ups) wants to make a new Earthbound/Mother game, they would do it, and they'd be skilled enough to market it well this time around. Again, it's not about how *you* see the fanchises profitable or not, it's about the will of the people at Nintendo to be creatve and make something people would like or more of what they like.
I literally cannot wait to make my own character in the game. Thank you for this feature. You have us on our seats for more info ;)

I modded pikmin 2 to play co op and it was sooooo much better. Worse comes to worse i will certainly mod again

They did the character creator well. Im so happy. It was completely unexpected, first hearing i had concerns it might not be done well, but from what i see this is stellar execution for its first addition to the franchise.

wym this character creation is incredibly basic. essentially the character creation from animal crossing. bare minimum

@Kenobi_enjoyer you guys are looking at it the wrong way. First, this protagonist is what you make it. You have to roleplay/use your imagination here. Bring your character to life yourself.
Second: It's basic because this is the first iteration of this system. It doesn't need to be over the top or flashy in its execution for it's first time. It just needs to be solid and this is a solid start for a character creator In Pikmin.
Third: There are still Canon Protagonists alongside your created character, namely Shepard, Colin, and the Bald guy with glasses, and they are sure to come with their own unique personalities and such.
They will be to the game what previous protagonists were, only difference here is you will be among them and the story will largely center around you and your efforts, where they play a supporting role.
For what it is now, I think it serves it's purpose well. Definitely could have been done way worse.

As a newcomer to pikmin I’m very excited. The demo for pikmin 3 deluxe was ehh for many small reasons, but this game changes all of that completely. I just hope there’s no multiple difficulties in this game

It tickles me to no end that Olimar not only crashed down for a second time, but his rescuers ALSO crashed landed.
The new 3D art styles for the player character are absolutely adorable and look wonderful. I can't wait for the customisation!

Who needs a captain with a great design, backstory, and personality when you can make your own.
I think putting _you_ in this world is going to do just enough for the relationship you have with your pikmin to feel all the more personal. As much as I love the original cast, this is a great great change, one I think suits the *future* of the series much better.
I'm going to assume that Captain Olimar is actually not on the Pikmin planet this time around but rather he sent a distress signal during the events of the third game and Alph, Brittany and Charlie rescued him and Louie first before this new team had a chance to reach them. Or Olimar could of sent out a distress signal when he first crash landed in the first game, which would be funny since it took the Rescue team all this time to reach him, however long it's been since the events of the first game to now. Or maybe I just know nothing!

I love Pikmin so much, I hope it’s a really long game. Pikmin 2 had so much more content than number 3 but number 3 had way cooler challenges (battle enemies, collect treasures etc.).
The only thing I don’t like about Pikmin 4 so far is that I don’t think you should be able to customise your character. I prefer having a set character otherwise it seems less engrossing.

Pikmin 1 is about repairing your ship
Pikmin 2 is about collecting treasures
Pikmin 3 is about collecting fruit.
It seems Pikmin 4 is about rescuing everyone, Olimar as well as the rescue team themselves

Hope with this there also comes the possibility of a Pikmin 1 and 2 remake for switch! 2 was by far my favorite from all the way back to the gamecube era

Character customization seems interesting! However the first game even though I’ve never played it, will always have more appeal. Because at that point we knew next to nothing about the planet and were stuck alone fending for ourselves. However Pikmin 3 will always be my favorite. You can see how pikmin 4 is really not like the other three.

Fingers crossed it has multiplayer. I played through 3 with my brother in law and it was some of the most fun I've ever had in a pikmin game.
