This is the most profitable* If you can convince them they want it and that they should pay you the margins you are asking. It's almost like saying I have this custom stick that costs me next to nothing to aquire, and I sell it for $5k a pop. Sure, if I can convince enough people they want it and will pay that, most profitable, but there in lies the rub.
Online, it’s not this serious. In person, make sure you have sold a clear objective from your customer of what’s to be expected, and accomplish that objective. The best practice is to be specific about what you are charging and exactly what you are charging it for, and then get the agreement on this in writing and signed. Simple as that.
It’s quite debatable that it increases the longevity of the roof but it can make it look cleaner. Might ruin the warranty of a roof if the contractor found out that you used something that eats the organic components of a roof made of tar paper and sand…
@David Mike you are right, the only way we do it is by wire brush and spray pump with zinc after. It’s never a good idea to power wash you’re roof even if it’s lower pressure
Been roofing for years, absolutely 100% DO NOT power wash your roof with anything but water, any chemicals will ruin it, and despite what he said in the video, no it does not increase roof life, it shortens it, it’s purely cosmetic and it’s not worth it but if you do choose to power was it, power wash it from the top down and use the lowest possible pressure
Actually you ALWAYS wash from the bottom up, & rinse from the top down. Same goes for brick or stone walls too. This ensures you don’t miss areas. Starting at the top allows product to run over unwashed areas and hides them until it’s rinsed. Causing rework…..But NEVER power was a shingle roof!
Agreed, but I’d go one step further and say it’s never a good idea to power wash your roof at all. Wire brush and spray with zinc when you’re finished. You are absolutely right though, if you do power wash then always then start from the ridge and go down.
Do NOT have your roof washed by a pressure washing company. You will almost certainly void your roof warranty. I can’t even believe this is on here…. Like saying sodium hypochlorite makes the statement seem more legit. But it’s not. It’s a liability and surprising to see here. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@Multimedia Productions I’d ask the company that provided your roof warranty. Not me. Not anyone else. And get it in writing. Then send your quote / contract to them so they can approve that. This way they’re culpable the whole way through. I’m just trying to help.
I'm an electrician. I once had a boss ask to have his new shingled roof pressure washed with an actual pressure washer. I was glad to help but knew it would not be good for his roof. He demanded to have it done so I did. It cleaned up really good and looked nice but I'm sure it took years off his roof.
“Low concentration” is a bit I’ll informed in my opinion. Commercial bleach ranges from 12-14% potency and is typically ran through a proportioner at a minimum of 30/70 - 50/50 (not including cling surfactants) Judging by how much that bleach is foaming up you are running quite a hot mix!
@Yelk Nicols 5% potency or 5% total in mixture? Your final mix ( what’s sprayed on the roof ) is measured by a ratio bleach/water/surfactant. 5% potency would be household bleach, most soft wash companies use a commercial bleach supply same as pool guys
@lisakp71 you’re right, I think most commenters are confused by that, the low pressure statement is not low concentration. However, he doesn’t seem to have the proper ppe to be using higher concentrations and should be diluting it a bit more or wearing more equipment or he is risking long term effects of inhalation damage, eye damage, etc. I hope he’s being safe.
It’s the most profitable but hard to upsell because of how costly it is? Doesn’t that sound like maybe your profit margin could be a bit lower, making it less expensive and therefore easier to upsell??
Its harder to sell however you make alot more money. It really depends on what works better for you, do you need less money more often or more money less often
@Maui Randall less overhead (lower cost/use of product) is more profitable in small buisnesses. Your comment makes little sense, clarify if you can please.
Roof washing probably the best thing I do to my house. It’s the best before/ after transformation, especially from the street view. I do mine about every 2.
Justin we appreciate your videos man. It’s profitable bc you’re using the same method that you use to clean the house, but the roof is a lot harder to clean and it gets done a lot less often. So yes, charging a lot is not uncalled for. And a lot of people don’t even realize there are huge benefits of getting your roof cleaned, and it’ll actually SAVE you money long term, even though it’s expensive in the moment.
Love your videos man. Started a pressure washing business with a friend here in Florida 4 months ago, and already bought our second truck and have steady work every week
I worked with a company who did soft roof washes and the effort that goes into keeping the chemicals off the ground so it doesn't kill grass or plants was one of my least favorite parts of the job
@Kulbmeister it's expensive and most profitable because the cost is all margin. It doesn't cost that much at all in materials or labor, they just up sell the fuck out of it, which is why it's hard to sell. Basically they're charging too much.
It wont. Not if he still sprays the rest of the roof directly. If all of the organic material is eaten one way or another, the roof will look the same. Clean.

I’ve been running a soft washing business down here in Fort Lauderdale for about 6 months. Extremely lucrative in this area because of the massive amounts of algae and mold and the fact that there’s no winter to slow business down. An added benefit is the rain, most roofs don’t even need to be rinsed if you time it right.
@David Hodgin you shouldn’t let those chemicals get on plants either but for if/when it happens we pre and post treat everything. Haven’t killed any plants or vegetation yet.
"Also one of the hardest services to sell, because of how costly it is" - impacts profitability. If it is something you charge high for, doesn't mean it's profitable. It's after you take revenue made minus costs incurred gives you PROFIT
What about for roofs with attics vented like that, you’re spraying right into it, rain never blows up and diagonally so it’s less an issue in nature but for hoses…never had any trouble ?
@Bblz Ryfusion wtf are you talking about? You made a incorrect assumption just because you don’t see his original replies. And like I said the one that’s still there contains the comment ONLY he made about taping over the holes, and you can see me reference that in my first 3 replies.

I'm a home inspector and have been roofing for 18 years...NEVER pressure wash your asphalt shingles. You will "pressure wash" your granules right off the shingles and cut the life of your roof down by about 75% of its life.
When I used to own a house I used to wash the sides of my house by myself but I always wondered whether it was anything that was available to wash a roof with. Thanks for letting me know. Just in case I ever own a house again.

Usually the most profitable service is one that can reasonably sell without needing to hike up prices to margin a profit, with a low cost of material as well. Try to utilize a skill-set that you’re contracted and paid for your time rather than relying on a high cost-to-run ratio and business structure. People pay more for solicited services much more often when they don’t have the tools/resources and knowledge to do certain improvements, fixtures, maintenance etc etc.
"This is the most profitable service any pressure washer business can offer" "However it is the hardest service to sell because of how costly it is" KEKW
For people starting a power washing business: do not do roof washing. It increases your insurance costs, may not be even covered by your insurance, and is high risk vs profit margin. It also can void the warranty on the customer's roof. Most customers don't care and don't know what this service even is.
Omg please DON'T DO THIS unless there's workmanship warranty. This process might damage your roof and may void your warranty. Don't just let anyone do this or don't at all 🤦♂️
I did roofing. If a roofing company has almost enough leftover product for a small roof, someone can get new shingles for a comparable price. Washing is more cost efficient the larger the roof.
In CT there is a company that showed them using the machine that is used for driveways on roofs to clean them 🤣 I have no idea how he came up with that idea I must ruin the shingles scrubbing it lol
I've had this service done. It killed every plant and bush along side the house. The company that did it eneded up cutting me a check for a couple grand. And I'm no safety Sally. But where's this guy's respirator? Sodium hypochlorite also known as bleach is no joke.
I had to scrape every single shingle on my timberlines before I could apply the chemical. It's a 12 on 12 roof... I wonder what it would have cost to have someone else do it
Dude calls bleach by its chemical name, but ain’t smart enough to know to run an integral calculation on the sales rate and profit margin of the service. Keep up the great work lil buddy.
This man speed running through life. Here I thought he wasn't showing the after because the 1 min limit. Turns out he trynna beat 10 seconds everytime.
Sodium hypochlorite itself may be toxic if ingested, or by dermal or ocular exposure. If mixed with acidic solutions chlorine gas is produced, and mixing with ammonia-based solutions gives rise to chloramine solution, both of which contribute to toxic effects.
@JW Ik lol it was pretty much a joke. But tbh considering he didn’t have the ladder tied off it actually made the whole process very dangerous as he’s standing above the edge of the roof on the ladder. The ladder could have caved out at the base at any moment
I'm convinced, at this point, that this dude knows bugger all about running a legitimate business and is all about grindset 😂 Also, shout-out to OSHA, lmao
You wouldnt catch me climbing up that roof to pressure clean the tiles down. Me and my brothers do high pressure cleaning. We clean newly built brick houses. Good money in it too. Can do a whole house in under an hour and get paid $500. Can easily do 5 houses a day and be home by lunch time
I’ll be very truthful I own a residential and commercial roofing company and I’ve found that having your roof cleaned actually shortens the life of the shingles. 🤷🏻♂️
@SamWiseGamgee well I can’t knock anyones hustle. I do agree there is so much more to owning your own business than most of these videos like to show you but I respect anyone who has the guts and tenacity to start their own business. If they don’t know how truly difficult it can be they will learn quickly. Working for myself has been the most difficult, and most rewarding things I’ve ever done in my life.
100% it does. Yes it is caustic. But it will eat a lot of other things aswell. It drives me nuts seeing these videos. Such a saturated market and I'm curious how many of these new start up pressure washing businesses have a business license, insurance, pay taxes, some places require chem application to be spraying bleach like that. There are so much more to a business than just getting out there with some gear and busting your butt. But these people LOVE to push this bs that anyone can do it and that it's easy money.
Very curious if he collect any of the run off that would make its way into the public right away. Any beach city (at least in SoCal) would fine you, make you clean and collect any runoff that could make it to the storm drain. If you can’t clean it up they would hire a private contractor that considers it hazardous waste making the price sky rocket when cleaning.
It might work for looking clean, but roofing longevity is the stability of the plywood under. If you have good shingles GAF they do what he’s saying with rain. But I sell roofing systems so what do I know

I got up on a metal roof at my pressure washing job, asked the boss what kind of Osha regulations we would follow. He replied: "Osha? You mean oh shit" I asked what's oh shit? He said "what you'll say if you fall of the roof. So dont."

I have had that job
What kind of chemical would u use for grease off of concrete
How costly is it?
My opinion
If he’s spraying sodium hypochlorite without a respirator he’s asking for Chlorine gas In his lungs, PPE is important.
@Pulaski damn son
He will be fine I used to do it and never wore a respirator and never noticed any problem
does @pulaski and @payYatick even work or do they just comment here alllllllll day long 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💯
Sod off
I'm sure I have damaged my lung tissue I have sprayed heavy mixes. I will always use a mask when spraying any SH
Literally everything this guy does is "the most profitable service" 😅 I've heard it way to many times.
This is the most profitable*

Yes
He’s a genius!
@Goku I wouldn't say he's a fraud lol. I was just saying it's funny to hear the same ass thing at the beginning of every video.
"Sodium hypochlorite"
Come on don't get all scientific, just say you're spraying bleach on the rooftop
Why don’t u guys educate each other instead of insulting each other?
Exactly
@Glenn Lavalle smart

@Pablo Escobar Pablo did you understand it now?
@David Mike yeah you have trees that need trimmed. Too much shade and shingles staying wet are what cause mold an mildew to grow.
@CJ407 costs more? Lol. You got quite the scam going.
@GVC Marketing exactly what I was saying.
Sad there wasn’t post treatment. If u do another, show the clean roof🙏
@FREEDOM.IS.ESSENTIAL What’s BP shingles?
Just get shingles with lime stone. 😋 don't buy BP shingles ever !!!
Holy mother of bots

@DEViL but how would one clean their roof if they live in a mildew induced climate? Thats my question
@Multimedia Productions my roof doesn’t get moss and mildew on it because I don’t have trees hanging over my home.
@DEViL so how do you clean your roof?
@Blueshirt haha then you should get them cleaned.
I'm an electrician. I once had a boss ask to have his new shingled roof pressure washed with an actual pressure washer. I was glad to help but knew it would not be good for his roof. I use rain…
@Noah PaulOG I agree totally with you. You're 💯% correct.
You don't use pressure on shingles, they can't take it. Pressure cleaning is for tiles.
@TroniX FiX You should see what a shingle is, its just asphalt and fibers thats cemented
“Low concentration” is a bit I’ll informed in my opinion. Commercial bleach ranges from 12-14% potency and is typically ran through a proportioner at a minimum of 30/70 - 50/50 (not including cling surfactants)
Judging by how much that bleach is foaming up you are running quite a hot mix!
Aim for 6% solution and the worst damage you'll take will be miscolored clothes.
@Spot On Details 5% is also the highest id go. Low concentration
@Yelk Nicols 5% potency or 5% total in mixture? Your final mix ( what’s sprayed on the roof ) is measured by a ratio bleach/water/surfactant. 5% potency would be household bleach, most soft wash companies use a commercial bleach supply same as pool guys
The highest concentration that I would ever put on a roof is 5%. And that’s plenty for a shingle roof.

@Jelly Monster not really more profit, just less overhead if you are the laborer.
@shell okay mr. Economist please explain it to us
@a creative name bro I'm a random guy from UAclips. I'm right
Roof washing probably the best thing I do to my house. It’s the best before/ after transformation, especially from the street view. I do mine about every 2.

Yea you could afford Pensacola or Gainesville I could get us contracts both have high amounts of fog and dense humidity lots of work
Yeah, what part?
We're considering Ft. Myers or Punta Gorda.
Can't afford Naples yet.
Hell yeah man congratulations
What part of Florida??
I worked with a company who did soft roof washes and the effort that goes into keeping the chemicals off the ground so it doesn't kill grass or plants was one of my least favorite parts of the job
He can actually contradict himself in 30s. That's some talent.
“most profitable” , “hardest service to sell due to how costly it is”. That’s your problem.
@Kulbmeister it's expensive and most profitable because the cost is all margin. It doesn't cost that much at all in materials or labor, they just up sell the fuck out of it, which is why it's hard to sell. Basically they're charging too much.
@Kulbmeister you aint in business are you..
@Kulbmeister it is a contradiction.. saying something is super profitable but is unfortunately hard to sell because of how costly it is. Just funny 😁
What? Expensive things are obviously more challenging to sell. How’s that any one persons problem?
I have customers ask for us to clean the moss and lichen off their roof all the time.
Need to spray half way up lightly and then start at the top and come down . The big run downs you are making will leave streaks and uneven cleaning.
I'd guess, spray lightly, use a roller, rinse and repeat. Using a 'shower' nozzle for even distribution.
It wont. Not if he still sprays the rest of the roof directly. If all of the organic material is eaten one way or another, the roof will look the same. Clean.

@Chris V. spray water on it to dilute the chemicals
How do you pre and post treat to not kill any vegetation?
@David Hodgin you shouldn’t let those chemicals get on plants either but for if/when it happens we pre and post treat everything. Haven’t killed any plants or vegetation yet.
Hey You shouldn’t let those chemicals into storm drains
50/50 mix of Muriatic acid and water. Works every time. Engine degreaser works great also.

DO NOT DO THIS TO YOUR ROOF. I'm a roofer by trade, do not do this.
As a roofer I really love this service as it destroys the asphalt lol thanks for free money dude
Usually the most profitable service is one that can reasonably sell without needing to hike up prices to margin a profit, with a low cost of material as well. Bro your videos are fr awesome man. You could probably end up doing social media marketing for a huge company.
"many homeowners doing even know it exists"
So this was an ad... Good play sir
"This is the most profitable service any pressure washer business can offer"
"However it is the hardest service to sell because of how costly it is"

For people starting a power washing business: do not do roof washing. It increases your insurance costs, may not be even covered by your insurance, and is high risk vs profit margin. It also can void the warranty on the customer's roof. Most customers don't care and don't know what this service even is.
I do this every day. It’s a pretty easy gig as well.
Omg please DON'T DO THIS unless there's workmanship warranty. This process might damage your roof and may void your warranty. Don't just let anyone do this or don't at all 🤦♂️
there's something about cleaning videos that soothes my soul
can't imagine how many people want it washed more than once and only pay for one wash. I'd demand payment up front for sure
I did roofing. If a roofing company has almost enough leftover product for a small roof, someone can get new shingles for a comparable price. Washing is more cost efficient the larger the roof.
But can you also use a Graphene Coating on the roof? 🤔
But can you also use a Graphene Coating on the roof? 🤔
Me and my dad actually own our own power washing business and we work all around our metro plexiglass we do jobs like this all the time
This is the last kind of job I did with my boss before he passed away,I miss you chris.
Rip Chris 🙏
This does save the roof this is the way the roof manufacturers recommends to clean the roof dude definitely needs a respirator
In CT there is a company that showed them using the machine that is used for driveways on roofs to clean them 🤣 I have no idea how he came up with that idea I must ruin the shingles scrubbing it lol
Guy: *washes roof*
Also guy: This is called roof washing
So “costly” it took him literally 30 seconds to do half the roof.
It is also hazardous because it can kill plants around the property if you don't properly care for them before and after the cleaning.
Dude it costs less than the equivalent in fuel. It really isn't expensive 🤣
My dad’s been in the roofing business almost 30 years and he laughed when he saw this. Roof looks ready to be tore off not “cleaned”
@Michael if you’re dense enough to think I was talking about your dad, sure, go ahead and take it as an insult.
@cutthroat795 is that supposed to be an insult
That’s a self employed “expert” for you
It ALSO is known for damaging various paint products!
Get a gallon of pool shock, you can get it at ocean state job lot. Dilute it with water, add in a back pack sprayer and clean your roof for about $4
Get yourself a ladder stabilizer. You will never use a ladder without one once you finally use one. You'll feel a lot safer working off a ladder too
Caution from another video. Some products can damage the paint in siding below.
I've had this service done. It killed every plant and bush along side the house. The company that did it eneded up cutting me a check for a couple grand. And I'm no safety Sally. But where's this guy's respirator? Sodium hypochlorite also known as bleach is no joke.
Природа вокруг обязательно скажет спасибо за химию !
I had to scrape every single shingle on my timberlines before I could apply the chemical. It's a 12 on 12 roof... I wonder what it would have cost to have someone else do it
I work for a soft wash company. Would love to trade tips and tricks!
This is also the process many inexperienced individuals have tried to do and in the process they have destroyed their clients roof.
Dude calls bleach by its chemical name, but ain’t smart enough to know to run an integral calculation on the sales rate and profit margin of the service. Keep up the great work lil buddy.
That’s awesome. I have people ask me if I do that all of the time. My Company Name Is, Magic Wand Pressure Washing 👍
How much do you charge for a roof?
It would have been nice to see the whole job done
I'm glad he clarified it's called roof washing.
Forgot to mention that the surrounding landscape is all organic so what do you think happens? Its the most risk service a pressure washer provides.
It can actually reduce roof lifespan. Pressure washing removes tons of granules, exposing the fiberglass and tar layer underneath.
It's called soft-washing it's about 70-90PSI
These comments are what I'd expect from this guys fans
They said he said low pressure... if you have never done this work stop trying to claim you know what Your tlking about.
The thing is everything you do I can do for my
Self lmao
This man speed running through life. Here I thought he wasn't showing the after because the 1 min limit. Turns out he trynna beat 10 seconds everytime.
I've been in that business so I will always support your videos with a like
Sodium hypochlorite itself may be toxic if ingested, or by dermal or ocular exposure. If mixed with acidic solutions chlorine gas is produced, and mixing with ammonia-based solutions gives rise to chloramine solution, both of which contribute to toxic effects.
Doesn’t this affect roof warranty though?
Having the ladder that far above the edge is an osha violation. That’s a write up bud
@JW Ik lol it was pretty much a joke. But tbh considering he didn’t have the ladder tied off it actually made the whole process very dangerous as he’s standing above the edge of the roof on the ladder. The ladder could have caved out at the base at any moment
Doesn't even need a ladder. You can spray the SH from the ground considering the height of the house isn't much.
I'm convinced, at this point, that this dude knows bugger all about running a legitimate business and is all about grindset 😂
Also, shout-out to OSHA, lmao
Lol best comment
It's crazy how like 4 videos of different services are all the most profitable
Also more valuable in certain areas. I’d pay for that in the Pacific Northwest… not for where I live in CA currently
Don’t over charge and then it won’t be so costly and then more people will get it done.
Roof washing seems like the oil change place trying to change your air filter for $70.
You are right.
I didn’t think to wash my roof..
I figured the rain did that for me.
I’d be interested to see a before and after of this roof..????
Tell me you have money to burn without telling me you have money to burn.
The Jone's: we'll buy the roof washing package please.
Sprays bleach on a roof and then blames the brand of house paint when it gets ruined 🤦♀️
You wouldnt catch me climbing up that roof to pressure clean the tiles down.
Me and my brothers do high pressure cleaning. We clean newly built brick houses. Good money in it too. Can do a whole house in under an hour and get paid $500. Can easily do 5 houses a day and be home by lunch time
Never thought about washing a roof good idea!
My biggest concern is our health over time.
I wonder how much is the price range for this service?
I’ll be very truthful I own a residential and commercial roofing company and I’ve found that having your roof cleaned actually shortens the life of the shingles. 🤷🏻♂️
@Justin Jacinto totally agree with that!
Yeh, this is purely an aesthetics thing.
So I’ll be sure to sue you after for literally poisoning my yard and local wildlife with bleach 🤷🏻♂️😂
Untill a window guy comes over and tells the Home owner their seals on windows got mess up by this service.....Nice and Smart 🤓
It’s not a mistake it’s a masterpiece
Whats the best mixture for tile roofs?thanks heaps dude!
I thought this manouver you're doing was called floor brushing, thanks for telling me it's roof cleaning 👍
By the time a roof looks this bad it most likely needs to be re-shingled anyways
It might work for looking clean, but roofing longevity is the stability of the plywood under. If you have good shingles GAF they do what he’s saying with rain. But I sell roofing systems so what do I know
Would that work for titled roofs ? Youd figure it would but shingles and title are different substrates.
Why dont you show the outcome that might help you sell a few more jobs

A before & after would've been nice
Yeah that's cap😂 I've pressure washed for 3 years roof cleaning with sodium hypochloride is inexpensive.
Most profitable pressure wash is the sewer line, $400-$600 per hour for most plumbers in Sydney
Everything this guy said is so true
I got up on a metal roof at my pressure washing job, asked the boss what kind of Osha regulations we would follow. He replied: "Osha? You mean oh shit" I asked what's oh shit? He said "what you'll say if you fall of the roof. So dont."
