Killer Whales: Up Close and Personal
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 жов 2021
- During four years of shooting in the icy waters that surround the volcanic archipelago of the Crozet Islands, we have followed the trial and tribulations of Delphine, a young female adolescent killer whale. Living and growing within her family group she gradually learns how to find her bearings, how to hunt king penguins or Minke rorquals and how to get stranded in order to catch sea elephants.

Thanks all for your comments. I am the director of this film which was shot 23 years ago. I am glad to let you know that Delphine is still alive and is now the mother of 3 calves. We are returning again in Nov, 2023 in Crozet to meet her, and see how she now teaches her young to catch elephant seals on the beach. There is now 5 time more elephant seals than when we were shooting the film, so the intentional beaching technique is a skill that many orcas practice. To answer other questions I have seen, I shot the orca sharing the minke whale without any particular protection: the orcas were even pushing the carcass towards me as if to say " you want some ? please share that meal with us !" They even brought me pectoral fins of elephant seals, and were scouting at me when I was entering the water to pick up the RHIB we used for filming. Unfortunately, there is no making of footage of this, but we will make some this year !
omg I am so lucky to watch it the day after, you commented this.....I was actually thinking about Delphine journey......and when will the video come please reply.....I AM REALLY IN LOVE WITH YOUR WORK IN THIS VIDEO. Well what about Liaison {MOTHER}💖.
@DIKSHA SONI. FANTASTIC!! I'm so excited! I study the Orca here, in Australia, and the New Zealand pod/s. I am fascinated by the different culture, language and even what 'appears' to be.. different..'accents'!, lol.
I have been following Delphine's , and her pod's journey and development through your scientific research and video footage of her and her family.
It is so beautifully filmed, showing the intimate family moments of this Orca pod..due to your respect and empathy of these beautiful, stunning, incredibly intelligent, sentient beings.
THANK YOU, for the time you've given of yourself, and the respectful and caring nature, in which you do so, to share these wonderful and RARE moments with us. It is TRULY respected and appreciated!!
@DIKSHA SONI. Yes!! I wasn't sure how to spell her mother's name. Do you know if that's accurate..or were you just taking a guess, lol. It 'phonetically' (sounds) like ..'Lee-sohn', to me, but being French, I wasn't sure how it is spelled.
I have tried to find it on google search but can only find (so far).. as her being referred to as *A2*. It also says that she was given the name of **_*Mae_* , (by a Captain who's ship was stranded/shipwrecked) in, I believe.. 197'2'.. if I'm remembering correctly??
Interestingly, she was ALSO (self?)-stranded on the beach!!
@K.A. Brown Turn on the caption for name💖. No need of google the name. Well you said you have been following Delphine and her pods .....are they safe...I too love orcas like how beautiful they are.....actually I ended here after watching some videos about SEAWORLD and TILIKUM....dont you think they do bad to these creatures??like see how much they play in how much area....and area at seaworld i dont think so its enough 🤯
@DIKSHA SONI. Very good point! Because it was in English, I didn't even think of doing that, lol.
thanks!! :-D
Tbh, I don't like them being on, unless film is in another language it, as it covers part of the screen on my laptop, which is why I hadn't considered. That, and also, there are often massive mistakes &/or mistranslations, when auto-generated & not checked by the ppl who actually know correct spelling/s.. ESPECIALLY with names, and the plethora of 'alternate ways' ppl seem to use these days, lol. :'-D
Hope you have/are having a great weekend!!
Delphine kept me stressed this whole video. 😂😩 She has the best orca mom ever! This was a really good doc. I love Orcas so much.
It was great. Once saw a short of a pod after a seal on a small ice flow. Two in tandem tried to overturn the ice and succeeded when they were joined by a third. The teamwork was incredible. These are amazing creatures!
Ikr Delphine is so problematic and dramatic I can’t with her 😂
Delphine needs a whooping and to be put on punishment as well: "No jumping out of the water 🌊 like Shamu for two weeks! If you give me any talk back I'll make it three!" 😂 😆 😂 😆
When she was lost I was like oh no ! Please don’t get hurt 😢 so fascinating how she was just staying still & was taught to do so! So intelligent!
Me too
Delphine needs her own reality show.
I’d watch. It would be a new dangerous adventure every episode. Full of dangers and parties.
And then you woke up
I need to see edited clips of the Delphine Show complete with typical cheesy sitcom music, canned laughter and regular guest appearances from the elephant seals.
*Coming up on today's episode* 15:52
Filming for a few months every few years is more than enough intrusion these animals need. You want a reality show, go find yourself some humans who have agency to say no if they choose.
I'm fascinated by how patient her mother is with her naughtiness
I literally cried. I said to myself a mother of 2... if she can have patience with her child.. I can do better with mine lol.. 🤦🏽♀️❤
@Candita Watley Learn from the whales, and teach what they taught you to your kids. One day they'll grow up to do the same....
Naughty. Lol. Thinking the same thing. She is a Mum so hopefully she will curve it. Love this family.
Orcas are so smart. Imagine the mom teaching her to stay in one place if she is lost. That means they had to teach her in a hypothetical situation kinda thing, like teaching a human child to dial 911 if someone is injured. Amazing.
They could have also told her since they have their own language of sounds.
@Rottweiler Fun !! and dialects! the several types of Orcas also was found to have their own dialects!
@Barugo which makes it even more sad to think about the orcas in captivity from different pods being unable to communicate with each other 😭
@forg Boycott Seaworld!
@Corey Million and advocate for the end of breeding programs!
When you watch this, see how the love and bond these beautiful creatures have as a family, it's even harder to see them captured. When you see how the older ones protect, love and teach the young. The way they stay with their families. Its a beautiful society, a society that humans should take note of. Thank you for a beautiful look into the amazing life of an orca.
Huh, sounds nearly identical to a practicing Christian family!
Exactly! Especially considering how the baby’s used(?) to be taken away from the moms when held in captivity. Also, how orca or animal shows in general are still legal in many countries us absolutely beyond me
@Genghis Khan What?
@Coffee&Crime Gal🤎 I don't get it either.
By far the best documentary about Orcas I've ever seen. The way the family teaches the youngsters, the way they celebrate together and hunt together. It's never easy to see a penguin or seal turn into lunch, but Orcas gotta eat too. :) This was so great I'm going to recommend this video to everyone!
Lol.. right...
@mervyn Hosking ok
@mervyn Hosking yeah. I think u proved your point when u wrote that. Lmao.
Only thing is they didn't know the reason for the child going up to the shore. It's one of many way they catch pray
It’s incredible how patient the mother is with Delphine! Every time she gets lost, the mother rushes over and is so happy to see her wayward daughter! ❤
I was so sad when the little one was lost in the kelp. Then I seen the whole pod coming back for her and was relieved. Such cunning and beautiful animals.
"lost in the kelp" 😂
@GORILLA PIMP 😂😂 yoooo chilll
@GORILLA PIMP What second meaning does this have?
Reminds me of getting lost in the supermarket as a kid😂
"Delphine get yo ass in your room. You're grounded."
Holding these wonderful Orcas captive is EVIL. They are not PETS for humans to laugh and gawk at(unbelievable). They are sea mammals and are highly intelligent and they are not whales but the largest of the Dolphin family.
So that's all you have to say?
How about its amazing how intelligent they are.
Oh they are super predators
Oh its amazing how predatory they are. I understand now why they are on top of the marine food chain.
Or Maybe wow its amazing how important they are, we need to make sure the ocean remains clean and full of life for them to continue thriving.
It's for my enjoyment. It's not evil.
@Meej no, it's still pretty bad... Enjoyment doesn't = good... In the Roman empire they watched people be hunted and killed by lions, tigers, and all sorts of predators for enjoyment, pretty sure that's not something good... Even though it brought some people enjoyment. They're clearly highly intelligent animals, just like we're highly intelligent animals.
@Neil Siebenthal I was just being sarcastic lol. But the same argument can be made for pets and animals at the zoo. It's not a necessity, they are just for people's joy and happiness. Actually it's even worst for pet owners because their animals relies on human beings instead of being free in the wild.
@Neil Siebenthal Those people the Roman Empire fed to lions and tigers where criminals on "death row" so to speak.
Im not disagreeing with you on anything you stated, just clarifying some facts.
Thank you for this incredible video. Seeing Delphine and her family reminded me of Lolita and hers. Lolita is a Southern Resident captured in 1970 in Puget Sound, Washington. She has been living in the smallest orca tank in the world at the Miami Seaquarium for over 50 years. Lolita's ecotype, Southern Residents, are the most studied orca population in the world. Family members stay together their entire lives. L25 Ocean Sun, Lolita's mother, is estimated to be over 90 years old. Lolita had an older sister named Tsunami, who died in 1982. Ocean Sun has no immediate family left, but she has been taken in by another pod as their adoptive grandmother. She doesn't even know her daughter is still alive.
Corky is the oldest orca in captivity. She is a Northern Resident from the A5 pod, A23 matriline. She was captured in 1969 in British Columbia. Corky's younger sister, Ripple, is now the leader of the pod. Other members include Corky's younger brother Fife, niece Midsummer, great-nephews Fern and Ne'nakw, and great-niece Eliot.
Plans are underway as of now to rehabilitate the now retired Tokitae (Lolita was just her stage name)in her Washington home waters after 52 years of captivity. She will be placed in a sea pen like Keiko was to get back in shape and relearn to hunt until her family passes through. She's been retired from performing a full year and MSQ wants her moved because she's just a financial liability to their new owner the Dolphin Company. All that's left right now is having the governor signing off the proper permits for her move!
@Corey Million WOW! That's WONDERFUL to hear😃. Thanks for the update xx
@Frangy Most definitely. She's a survivor.
I see you in every comment section thank you so much for spreading the information that you do ❤
@Paimon’s Pie There was a press conference about Tokitae's move just yesterday. She WILL be going home, hopefully in the next 18-24 months at most, they said. Everything has to be VERY well-prepared to ensure her safety during her return to Washington's Puget Sound.
Such an amazing documentary of this beautiful family. I can’t believe it was 23 yrs ago, WOW! Orca’s in all their wit and strength show the ability to love and invite us humans to their pod. It’s just breathtakingly beautiful to watch this, unreal footage. The respect you show this pod is clearly understood and reciprocated. What an honor it was to watch this, thank you. Can’t wait for the next documentary.
Nothing that any of those circus acts at Seaworld could EVER match.
This is one of-if not thee-absolute best docs on killer whales I’ve ever seen. What beautiful, amazing beings. Really this was one of the best nature docs I’ve ever seen period. Just brilliant. When it ended, I wished there were a series of them.
A sequel is being made.
I hope Delphine will eventually becoming a formidable hunter, maybe even the leader of the family, and passing her knowledge to the future generations.
I'm a big Belle Delphine fan too. I think passing her knowledge to future generations is an amazing idea
😂😂😂😂
@Seanglendo 😂🤣
I hope so. She seems to be an at risk youth that needs major intervention in order to make a 180° turn for the best. 😆
read comments, the original director has a great one on there, Delphine is now 23yrs older (she's 37 now) alive and well, has 2 cubs of her own.... circle of life😊
What an awesome documentary! I simply love learning about these magnificent giant mammals of the ocean.!So insightful and thought provoking... highly intelligent creatures, who strategise kills with precision, and also teach their young to become providers within the pod;contributing for the whole pod...its amazing...a highly functional social system led by mom...everyone has an important role in the survival of the family
How are you doing today?
I love how while the male elephant seals are fighting for the position of beach master that in the background there is an entire beach full of penguins are all lined up watching the fight like its a pay per view event! I would be standing right there with them watching the fight. Knowing me though I would turn to the penguins next to me a say "did you see that? He took that shot like a champ!"
I'd be making side bets. Lol.
@Will Hickey 😂🤣😂🤣😂 ok, youre officially in charge of taking the bets and holding the money. You will have the former elephant seal Beach champion 8 seasons running from last year as your security so none of those sneaky little penguins try to hold you up at flipper point. Don't let the built in tux fool you, they can get down! Case in point, "The Transporter 1 & 2" even though Jason Statham was wearing suits and not tuxes lol.
😂😂. Best part penguins don't have pay. It's a free show lol
"I'll bet you 30 sardines and two red bass that the one on the right takes it in the 3rd round; as he is more conditioned and built to last late into the final round." 😂
Yeah, bet they wished they had some popcorn and Coke lol.
I was in Wrangel Narrows in Alaska's inside passage one afternoon. I was in a 15 ft. Skiff with a 40 horse outboard motor. There was a family of four Orcas. An adult male, female with their two twin baby calves I would guess were 6 months old. I approached them within 10 ft. When I saw them surface, I could see the males eye checking me out. His dorsal fin was as tall as a man. When they exhaled, it sounded like an explosion. Up close, these magnificent creatures are huge! There was a man sitting in a tiny dingy with his hat over his eyes and his fishing pole not far from shore. The two youngsters snuck up on him and breached on each side of him and came down with a big, giant splash! The poor fellow dropped his pole and nearly fell out of his boat. Orcas can be mischievous pranksters. The two calves then rejoined their parents. This was the wildlife experience of a lifetime. I do not fear them.
Lol
Hahaha
Adorable!
They dislike when ppl take their fish away, and rightfully so.
It's wonderful how they communicate in their own language and love each other. P.s. thanks for the great narration, without it it's only great footage.
Thank you for doing a new documentary about these beyond incredible beings. Just like humans, orcas and their species continue to evolve.....every single day. Love this and thank u
This documentary is from the year 2000
@Bacon Lightsaber Feels more modern. Just saying.
If only everybody could comprehend how amazing these animals are- as intelligent and loving as any human. Stunning
Yeah, they're more human than so many people today. I've always seen animals for what they are: individuals with a life story.
They certainly are stunning and amazing creations of our Lord Jesus Christ! BUT to say they are as intelligent as humans is a ridiculous stretch.God created humans in his image and not the other creatures in this earth. Also, humans have a soul that can be born again in Christ and inherit eternal life. Animals and sea life cant.
AS intelligent AS humans...? I haven't checked in a while, but I don't remember any orcas building rockets to go to the Moon, or making discoveries such as electricity and spacetime lol
They are incredibly intelligent as wild animals. Actually fascinating how smart they are.
Now, a statement like this would be more accurate
Edit: and for the other pious user: Jesus&Company have nothing to do with any of this
🤩 I can watch Orcas videos whole day. They are truly masters of the sea. Thanks so much for the men and women who helped put this together for us to learn and enjoy. Great job guys 👏 👏 👏
I feel like I’m ready to move in, what an incredible family
This is a work of art, The narration is fascinating and very informative, The footage is breathtaking and had me glued to the screen, it was amazing to see how strong of a bond the family have when playing together having fun and it was intriguing to see the understanding they share when doing the serious work of hunting. Truly beautiful.😍
I absolutely love it. They are a very close and loving family💜Quite special🙏🏽And thank you soooo much for this documentary 💛💛💛
I would 100% watch multiple “seasons” of this awesome family :) 💕 just that finding this after watching Some Seaworld videos… definitely casts a shadow on my smiles. These gorgeous, highly intelligent creatures need to be left alone in their natural environment!!! (Side note: those hundreds of penguins being spectators to the seal fights was freaking hilarious 😆)
Amazing documentary. Thank you for all the time that you spent studying these great animals.
how beautiful! Delphine is my kind of girl: a constant trial but how touching to see her finally learn and take the first steps into adulthood.
You're into putting the whole group at risk? Awesome
0
She's only 14 dude calm down
Brought tears to my eyes more than once. The beauty of this doc is beyond words. Blessings to the film makers for braving this harsh environment to bring us this informative and educational work 👍✌️
@Get w/the New Age Delphine now has two children of her own!
Incredible, absolutely incredible! They actually actively teach and learn from each other.
Probably the best documentary on Orcas I ever watched, camera work is amazing, thank you so much for sharing your journey with them to us, the viewer.
The hunting of the penguins truly is amazing footage. Especially love the shot at 32:55 when you see all the penguins shoot away under the surface.
It’s incredible to see the care the elder whales take with the younger ones and how even at 14 a female is considered a child.
It makes me even more angry at how Seaworld and other companies have treated orcas and started breeding them so young.
It is so great to see the closeness of this family. Sadly many times nowdays humans no longer put that much into family closeness. We can learn so much from nature. Great orca documentary.
Remember watching the exact documentary when I was a child. Now nearly 20 years later I‘m so happy to find this great film again❤
Thank you so much for this wonderful and documentary series about orcas. It's so interesting. The bond between the family and how mother teach her babies to behave even in their meals. We should learn from them. Sometimes we behave strangely than this orcas. I hope to see more of Delphine and her little ones!!! Thank you so much 🥰
Great documentary. Loved it. It’s so amazing to see them swimming in the clear water from above. It’s haunting and incredible to see how massive these animals are. My word….
Stellar documentary! You really managed to get great clips of the very intricate relationships and techniques of these amazing mammals. I look forward to hearing more about Delphine!
My fave animals in all the world. They're absolutely magnificent. Fantastic that the film crew was able to get so close to them. Great work!
Thanks so much. A great documentary. Looking at orcas’ pod and how they helped each other is incredible. I cannot imagine a captive orca then free. It will be the perfect pray for other predators.
Looking how young orcas train and get skills to feed is amazing. Taking Penguins’ feathers out, calling other pod’s members to get the seals for feeding is also amazing. They depend on their hearing and sounds for all activities. I’ve had that clear.
THE WAY THEY COMMUNICATE AND HELP ONE ANOTHER IS ABOVE AND BEYOND INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WORDS JUST CANT DESCRIBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SPEECHLESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolute perfection in a documentary. Brilliant photographic and insight into behavior. Thanks so much!
It’s amazing how these whales figure it all out. I’m impressed.
I love Orcas. Amazing creatures with incredible unity. Nice documentary. Hope to see more.
It’s amazing how smart these animals are.. absolutely incredible. Anyone who sees them in their natural habitat rather than a bathtub tank, has got to be extremely lucky. It’s something I only dream of seeing
Thank you so much for making this wonderfully educational video about Orcas available. I’ve honestly never seen a film about Orcas that provides so much information about a pod’s individual members and their behaviour. Fantastic!
How visceral & sublime this document is 💕 Feeling submerged, overwhelmed & enthralled by the hypnotic beauty, power & highly intelligent beings. Delphine & her family are sheer magic. Bow down to the film crew for the extraordinary cinematography, talent & sensibility. Can’t believe this docu was filmed 23 years ago. Thank you Mr. B. Loyer for your update on Delphine & her growing family. How privileged it must have been to see Delphine as mom now- teaching, guiding her calves to live & thrive. It seems too surreal for the senses to reckon. Thank you for sharing your passion, knowledge & love ❤️ Enlightened. Let’s be better humans to nurture & safeguard Delphine, her kind, all wildlife & nature 🙏
Utterly amazing animals. We must not lose them at any cost.
The greatest lesson ever taught “when lost stay still”.
😂

Well said.. I like that...
What a superb documentary on orcas. Hats off.
It was one of the best documentary I have ever watched on animals.
Delphine is so naughty, but her mother is thr is to guide her, care like all the other mothers. Perhaps, animals also share the same bonds with mothers like we all humans do.
Good job Bertrand, do u have similar documentaries like this?
That calm beaching lesson has me sobbing. These animals are incredible.
This was amazing footage. Simply amazing. Thank you for putting this together for us to watch and learn from. I like this channel a lot
Ever since I learned that they hunt as a team/family and are really really smart, they’ve been my absolute favourite creatures amongst all.
I can’t wait for your new update/documentary on these orcas this year!! I’m so excited, I’ll be watching for it! Unbelievable this video was shot 23 years ago!
Wonderful documentary, thanks to its creators and the uploader!they’re such beautiful animals
So amazing and calming. I appreciate all the research and care.
That's amazing, seeing Delphine's mom encouraging her and showing her what to do and her understanding and copying the behaviour.
Beautifully made! The Discovery Channel used to be full of documentaries like this, before it came a reality tv channel instead.
this is also fake
@Black fish2000 no
@God Emperor Lech I meant the edited footage and the story narritive
@Black fish2000 It's not fake, Orcas are extremely intelligent.
@God Emperor Lech i know, but most nature documentaries are mostly cut of edited footage and adding story telling
Delphine is my favorite! Such an impetuous and wild hearted young thing. I hope to see her again when she becomes a mother. Please do a part deux. ✌️👍
The documentary director said she has 2 babies of her own recently
Great video! I love listening to the family communicate with each other!
I’ve loved orcas for years and I’ve watched many documentaries about them and this has got to be one of the best ones I’ve ever watched
These darn kids! Always getting into something! LOL! I love this documentary! I think the son avoids mating with his mother and sister in the same way that humans avoid that! They are smart and they can identify each other.
Thank you all for going out there and filming these beautiful amazing animals so the world can fall in love with them and save them for becoming hunted and endangered species ❤❤❤❤
It’s just so beautiful to see how Delphine’s family just comes to her recuse. Granted, I’m aware this is how Killer Whales operate, it’s just amazing to witness. God’s creations are just one of a kind. I’m not crying, you’re crying 🥹😂
Thanks for this documentry. I was literally happy and sad their pod family working and taking care of each other.Even animals have strong bond yet some of we humans are worst and my life is prime example of that me who was left by my mother when i was 2 weeks old and a addict dad who didnt care for me and yet my grand mom raised me just likr this orca mom by seeing this video i just want to experience this bond🥲thnks for sharing this video
The struggle is necessary, makes you who you are , now you know to break that cycle with your own children u know how it feels to be left so you will soldier on and take care of your seed unlike your parents did with you , I feel you and God is with you I've been through what you've been through and u might feel helpless but helplessness will grow u to something u never imagined , stay in your good side of character and work hard and see how lucky you will get
yb better
@YPC YoungPaperChaser thanks for adding something on my willpower really appreciate ☺️
Just about any male & just about any female can make a baby, but it’s the truly special ones who can take on the real responsibility of being a good parent. Sooo many ppl should not be allowed to have children. It should only be a Gift of God that those wishing to become good parents be allowed that precious gift. God Bless You for your story & for sharing. Your Grma sounds like a Very Special Person
@Susan Vallance granma like a only god to me
What magnificent animals, I wish that we could communicate with them.
Wouldn't that be just absolutely amazing... We could learn so much about the ocean.
let's just stop hunting them by the masses and call that a WIN.
@Dope TheAdjective, I don't think that Orcas are hunted anywhere , but I'm all for not killing any whales at all.
@Rottweiler Fun !! they still are in "coastal fisheries in Japan, Greenland, Indonesia, and the Caribbean islands." It was worse in the 80s though
We can
One of the best documentaries I've ever seen. Excellently done.
Orcas are amazing.... I still can't believe people swim with these incredible creatures. I know they have never eaten anyone but the fact that if ONE get bored, they can still play with you to death...
Lesson: Learn how to tell jokes in orca. It might save your life.
Sounds like a normal night on Grindr.
never killed anyone in the wild , but at SeaWorld, different story, #orcasrevenge
....what was his name? tilicum or something. a renegade orca in captivity that has killed trainers...hate to say it but good for him, it's a travesty these magnificent creatures are kept in captivity.
@Sherry Neglia Especially considering he was stolen from his pod in Iceland and died knowing only a concrete, chlorinated, and miserable prison.
Great great documentary. Absolutely loved it. Hats off to the whole team. I don't have words to thank you...
I love that you showed us how this pod hunted the penguins by squishing the meat out... I've learned that different orca pods hunt differently and are particular to different meals. Some pods only hunt the liver of sharks... Interesting
I enjoyed watching this documentary a lot, Orcas are just beautiful and fascinating creatures & I love them so much 💜
Orcas are such wonderfully beautiful and intelligent creatures! I think Disney should make an animated movie on them, as they did with Happy Feet. That would be AWESOME!!!!
omg YES!
Orcas are too much of ferocious killers for an animated kids show but maybe Disney could make it work like Lion King
agreed!!!
@the GOAT -IsHere• LOL 🤦♂️
Yes!
The BEST Orca documentary!🏆 Can’t wait for the sequel 👍 This is super amazing, love it! ❤ Thank you for sharing no matter how old. The narrator voice is wonderful as well🥰
Thanks for your kind words. Delphine and her family has been seen last week near a longliner offshore Crozet. The sequel will take some time to produce, but we will already dedicate 6 months this year, from November 2023 to April 2024. To achieve this, for obvious financial reasons, we will also make other films on birds & mammals population dynamics, plus a series penguins, while our team will be there with top notch 4K gear.
So intelligent in their environment, there definitely the kings of the ocean. Excellent video.
Mr. Loyer, i can't get enough of this clip! Thank you!
I have a question, though: why do we not see other ocean animals? Baracuda, shark, other fish??
I look forward to your next documentary. All the best to you and your team!
We are truly blessed to share this planet with so many wonderful animals, especially Orcas! 🌎
Thanks for all the nice comments, it took us 3 months to make this film. We hope you all enjoy as much as we did.
❤❤👏👏👏 hermoso aprendí más d las ballenas orcas
Orcas are so smart it’s so mesmerising how family oriented they are and they beautiful and curious
Thank you for posting this video, it's an interesting look at how an orca family does things, more needs to be done to protect these creatures from harm
Astounding. If humans wish to communicate with another species, no need scanning outer space! Our ocean cousins (dolphin family) are clearly using a language (and even have dialects). I hope we get our act together BEFORE science breaks the barrier! It would be heartbreaking to have their first message to us be, ''Why do your kind hurt the ocean?'' I'm ready to believe we will communicate with them one day (it is literally just a matter of time), but not so optimistic that we can stop the corporate criminals who don't give a damn.🙁
We can definitely set it up as regular people to communicate with this intelligent species
I think al whales are smart not only dolphins there are storys of humpback protecting divers from tigershark
😓 I'm so relieved she made it back in the water, it's too early in the morning to be this stressed 😫
😂
Right?!
I'm recently learning about Orcas and I LOVE this doc so much I wish I hadn't seen it bc all other videos are ruined for me!!!
Originally here for Humpbacks but damn, much respect for the culture and pods that Orcas create.
Such an outstanding documentary on these beautiful beings. Fascinated by Orcas.
Delphine & her mother reminded me of Louise & Linda Belcher :)
Omg thank you so much for flooding my brain with dopamine early in the morning! I’ve loved Orcas since I was a kid in the Philippines. They are my spirit animal 💞 They deserve their own emoji!
Its amazing how social these creatures 😍 ❤ are. They love one another and teach life skills that's fascinating. My spirit mammals for sure
It’s so cute watching them chill out and use the seaweed like a blanket as the drift
Absolutely beautiful content.
Gorgeous animals.
This is by far my all time favourite Orca documentary 💙
What a wonderful insight into the Orca family. I hope all the pod are all ok.
@Bertrand Loyer You said in the film that we have no idea of what this pod does for up to seven months out of the year. Why? Is there no way to put a tracker on the whales? I absolutely love orcas and I always have, ever since I was a child. Thank you for uploading your video to UAclips and making this wonderful educational material accessible to everyone.
Excellent documentary 👏 👍 👌 I could watch these wildlife ones all day long especially when about animals we don't see much about like orcas,Great white,Hippopotamus and leopard seals xx
It’s nice to know that humans are not the only ones that have to deal with pain in the a$$ teenagers.
Delphine is the “problem child” of a different species family from mine, who I am irrationally annoyed with-😂
I enjoyed the video, thank you for filming and uploading it to UAclips for free.
I enjoyed this film so much! I love the ocean. And especially the orka's. You did a fabulous job.
Rhodium is the ‘failure to launch’ child in the basement 😂
Seriously I absolutely loved this documentary. So fascinating:)
I love orcas so much. They're so powerful, arguably the second most powerful animal on earth after humans, and very intelligent animals. If I ever get to pick what animal I can reincarnate as I'd probably pick the orca
lol I use to say I would want to be a great white shark but then I studied orcas & chose to be an Orca instead as long as I don't get captured and have to live at SeaWorld or anywhere other than the open Ocean
Delphines loneliness & terror, while trapped in the kelp bed, must be how Keiko & Tilly felt, while locked up ALONE, in a damn box, thousands of miles away from their families......HUMANS ARE EVIL! 😔
😢😭
@Hazel Fisher She has a lot of fun and love too, and it was beautiful humans who documented this, there are always flowers in the garden for those who want to see them.
@Hazel Fisher ?
I absolutely 💙 this Documentary!! The narration, the editing, the cinematography, the 🎼… and of course the Orca family aka Pod!! Delphine is so adorable and she clearly knows it! They don’t seem to mind allowing the cameramen into their world for a little while?! It’s just amazing the more we learn about them! They’re fascinatingly majestic! I’ve watched this at least 20 times already.. lol
It would be really cool to go back every so many years and do another Doc about this family aka Pod! 🖤🤍
the fact u managed to film all of this is just stunning! like how?!
What a fabulous documentary with excellent camerawork and a Narrative. Great documentary, thank you.
One of the best orca documentary films I have seen yet. Cannot wait for a sequel to this film I would like to see how Delphine and her two Cubs are adapting. What is her age now?
Will there be a part 2? I want to know what the family is up to!
