Hogwarts Legacy - 15 Insane Easter Eggs & Secrets You May Have Missed!

Apparently it's a Giant Squid instead of a Kraken... 🤷‍♂

Some other easter eggs worth mentioning:
- Throughout the school you’ll encounter kids receiving Howlers from their parents. One gets one for hexing their teacher, another gets one for turning their family owl into a cup & losing it, another gets one for giving their house-elf clothes, & another gets one for not being a Chudley Cannons fan.
- To enter the Kitchens you need to tickle the pear on the door like in the books.
- Down the hall from the entrance to the Slytherin common room is a gate that once unlocked with Alohomora leads to the Headless Hunt ballroom which appears in the book of Chamber of Secrets.
- On the first floor up from the Grand Staircase leading to the staircase of the Gryffindor common room is a statue of a One-Eyed Witch. This statue was first shown in Prisoner of Azkaban which contains a secret passageway to the cellar at Honeydukes. This passage is also unlocked in a side quest.
- In the Trophy Room at the top of the Grand Staircase is the casket that contains the Goblet of Fire.
- In the opening cutscene after seeing George eaten by a dragon, the player character starts to see Thestrals carrying the carriage, as they can only be seen by those who’ve seen death.
- In Gringotts in the prologue on the way to Vault 12, the cart passes under a waterfall that washes away enchantments & you hear about the Thieves’ Downfall. The waterfall & the Thieves’ Downfall first appeared in Deathly Hallows during Harry, Ron, & Hermione’s break-in at Gringotts for Helga Hufflepuff’s cup.
- There’s an entire side activity where you follow butterflies in order to get items for the Room of Requirement. This is a reference to a line Ron says in Chamber of Secrets where he says “Follow the spiders? Why can’t it be follow the butterflies?”

Just buying this game for lore and exploring hogwarts is well worth it imo for a fan growing up with the books then movies

There’s a secret room in the Gryffindor Common Room. If you go into the corner where Cressida Blume was practicing non-verbal spells, there’s a door camouflaged into a cabinet or grandfather clock

The amount of detail in this game is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before! You can tell that the game developers are huge Harry Potter fans 😅

Imagine since Ominis is blind, and maybe in a DLC, he wouldn't have issues with the Basilisk and you get to assist him with getting into the Chamber and then you both can somewhat 'play' with the Basilisk but it's not yet as huge as it was by the time of HP ...

Similar to the scene with the two kids at Zonkos, Gladrag's has one where a woman comes out with her son talking about his socks which are making him constantly dance.

Here's a couple that haven't been mentioned here yet.
In the Grounds Keepers hut is a Field Guide page, in front of the work bench, that says something along the lines of 'you could make furniture as big as you want with these tools'. (Haggrid became the Grounds Keeper in the movies)
Haggrids portrait is somewhere in the castle. (The actor past away awhile back)
The traditional formal robe Ron wears to the dance (Goblet of Fire I think) is a reward for a quest/side mission.

One of the things I thought was hilarious, that I first found when playing a Gryffindor Witch was the preferential treatment the girls get compared to the guys. What I mean is the guys dorm is pretty much what you've seen in the movies, aka room enough for the beds, trucks and a closet each but not much extra room besides that. The girls side is a lot different, the room itself is almost double the size with the same number of beds, there's a nice sitting area right outside the room and the balcony for the girls side is almost twice as large as the guys side. And the really funny detail the Wizards side of the dorm has no bathroom, while the Witches side has not only a bathroom, but a second bathroom with bathtubs.

Maybe the candy store and the joke shop will get additional stuff you can buy over time? Did they say there might be cosmetic paid dlc? If so, perhaps candy and jokes might be dropped in as cosmetic only items? (Meaning, tho you can use them, they don't have any impact on gameplay/quests ect)

There is a hidden room in the hufflepuff common room that has a chest you can open if you have lockpith lvl2. There is probably one in each common room.

Me and me friend were talking about missions today, I said it was cool to go to Azkaban, but he got mad cause I spoiled it, but then, he said the sir Nicolas mission was boring, and I got mad at him.
It was then that we knew something was wrong, so we looked it up. I chose Hufflepuff and him Griffyndor, and we had seperate mission!

Does the Hogwarts Express always show up in the quest where you meet and ride Highwing or did I happen to experience an extremely rare encounter and not realize it? Natty even says a line about the Express when she's on her Hippogriff

Man, knowing that the Chamber of Secrets is unopened. And the Basalisk is slumbering within. That it will one day wake up is sooo fucking creepy. I love that we got to a nod to it..

I was doing the poly juice quest when the suit of armor just started getting beat, I had to talk to prof Wesley and all I can think about was if that were to happen in real like, I’ll be on the floor laughing

There are at least 3 pajama outfits besides being in your underwear.
Light, Dreamer's, and Seafoam nightwear. Basically just recolors of each other, and npc's will comment on it, more than just those in Hogwarts, every npc besides hostiles will say something occasionally.

I love this game but I do hate that there's no areas accessible in the game from the movies/books

The fire place in the library has a room behind it with a chest you can see the room an chest but I spent an hour trying figure out how to get in the room

Spent the whole day exploring Hogwarts, fucking love it
