This game was hyped as all get out and it’s even better than I expected. What a win for this game team and Harry Potter fans

So much for "gammers don't want single player games anymore." I'm loving this so much! It's like the good old days again. Back in 2007.

I wish they added Draco Malfoy's "Serpensortia spell" from Chamber of Secrets. Would be awesome to summon snakes to attack your enemy, especially if you're a Slytherin.

Also with the Arithmancy doors, the frame of the door has the correct animals from left to right, being 0-9. So you don't need to have cheat sheet next to you.

Spending one talent point into the Revelio spell upgrade is also a big help. It makes it's range faaar bigger.

Handy tip for the door. You don't actually need to keep an image of the cheat sheet. If you look at the door, all the animals around the "arch" are in order of their numbers 0 to 9 (going clockwise). Starting with the Demiguise on the bottom left (zero), ending with the 9-headed hydra on the bottom right (nine).

To break the colored shields, cast the same color spell at the enemy.

Pro tip, a black flag on a location either in hogwarts local map or next to the map name up the top means there's a side quest or main quest event there. If you're looking for side quests check to see if there's a flag posted up.

They did a fantastic job with this game. It's been way too long for us to be given a complete game at launch that can satisfy us without requiring a group of friends and a bunch of anxiety. This game is HUGE ... the video should give insight. I have played for 8 hours and just now unlocked traits and flying.

I have to disagree a bit about the plant pots, yes you can grow anything in the larger ones but being able to grow 5 of each small item is actually fairly useful if you are brewing a lot of potions. Not to mention that growing items in the larger pots, sadly, does not increase how many you get back. Example: No matter what sized pot you use for Dittany leaves, you will always get back 5 leaves. (6 if you use fertilizer). On the subject of fertilizer, it's better to use it on Mandrakes, Tentaculas, or Chomping Cabbages since they only produce 1 per growth normally. Sadly it's not as useful on other plants since it only adds 1 in return.

One thing I hope they add in dlc is a companion magical beast option so you can have a Niffler running around with you which guides you to nearby treasures etc and the ability to use the beasts you capture for this and mounts

If you notice on those doors, the symbols are listed in numerical order of the animals. So if you can’t remember the cheat sheet you can just count digits from the bottom left pictures going up and over the door in order from 0 to 9. The pictures have visual clues as well. One unicorn horn, 8 spider legs, etc etc.

Use confringo on the basins with the dragon/wyvern on them highlighted blue when casting revelio. It drops a guide page (use accio if the page is out of reach). Also, I’d suggest continuing to play the main story line until you get the alohamora spell from the caretaker.

Hands down one of the best single player games that came out in a pretty long time imo

Definitely figured out the puzzle doors myself. Was fairly intuitive. Things I didn't realize right away are the map icons, how zooming in is crucial to finding them all and that there are side quests on your map that don't show up on your Quest log. Also extended range Revelio is the GOAT

Another odd tip, if you feel like you’re about to be hit by an attack or just don’t feel like dodging it than you can cast any of the unforgivable spells or the ancient magic to completely cut off or dodge the attack entirely.

One of the best tips I can give you regarding killing a character with high HP (like Trolls) with ease, is that to cast Imperio (mind-control curse) on them, they won't attack you back anymore. You can achieve 70+ combo streak with this so feel free to use ancient magic on them too.

the stealth attack where you got the enemy to attack one of its own reminds me so much of what i used to do in assassins creed (original saga of games not the later ones) by infecting people with the craze dart/arrow and letting them eliminate the remaining guards.. good to see some familiar gameplay style i can carry over

10:00 You can also use that sprint ability to get through some of the crouching areas quicker. Just the short ones, but it can help if you're trying to speed run.

If You Go To The Accessibility Options And Turn On “High Contrast Gameplay”, You Can Have An Easier Time Finding Interactable Things Around The World Especially After Casting Revelio.
Red = Enemies
Green = Interactive NPCs
Yellow = Objects, Items, And Non Harm-able Creatures
Blue = Your Character
Sky Blue = Objects That Require Spells Or Items To Interact With

I would love to be able to cast spells on the students and other npcs. It could even be harmless spells like levitating them, summoning them, freezing, etc. We would not even need to be able to hurt or damage them. It would be an easy mechanic to add considering it’s already in use on most animals.

3:03 Fun fact the beast images around the door are in correct number order. From left to right starting at 0 so just count them. For instance the 3 headed snake/dragon is number 3 and so it will be the 4th image

Tip with the arithmancy doors, the symbols are in order going from bottom left over to bottom right (0-9), saves you from constantly opening up the cheat sheet from your inventory if you can't remember them

on the room of requirements tip. he missed a very important part... hoppers and chopping stations are awesome.
they randomly generate resources. so just popping 3 of each down will give you some extra resources. the chopping stations are a nice extra, but I mostly love the hoppers.
it's free potions without needing mats. cause even if you lack a certain item, they can still drop the potion.
it's mostly useful for non growable materials and at the start of the game though. once you play for a few hours you'll prolly have tons of mats just rotting in your inventory xP

Ive just finished the main story, it's a brilliant game, such a rich and vibrant world. Obviously it's missing some key elements known from the wizarding world but even without an enjoyable experience. I know everyone will be hoping for a quid itch dlc

My tip is when you are in the room of requirement and want to use Evanesco, make sure you are also pressing the LT button if you are using an xbox controller it should bring a small circle that lets you get a better aim. It doesn’t help much in combat but when decorating it is invaluable because before using that, the evanesco and switching spell kept aiming at the walls and floor as a whole

A couple things I thought of when watching the video you didn’t mention. Under talents I would also recommend getting the improved wiggenweld potions which add more health restoration when using a potion. Also in the room of requirement deek can change the ambiance but you can actually change the room design / colors/ sizes etc with a spell that professor Wesley gives you in that same room requirement quest line.

For the Arithmancy doors, the emblems are in order of their value, so you can also just count them without looking at the picture

The potions table with 5 small pots is more usefull than just growing 2 small plants solely for the sake of having the best items

This was really good. I realised I’ve spent too much time on side quests & exploring that I’m level 12 and just did my first herbology & potions class haha.

For the Arithmancy doors, I've found something better than taking a photo. The symbols always line the door in the same order, going from 0-9 when viewed left to right. That is a much easier and quicker way to identify the associated number, and I haven't found a door that was an exception to this rule as of yet.

I've just started playing and am loving it!! As a 43 yr old that grew up playing RPGs I'm beyond excited to have this one. It's beautiful and fun!

This game is amazing. Going for the Platinum makes it a little bit tedious at times but overall what an incredible game.

Pro tip , you only need to upgrade spells you use in combat. That means even casually you can get everything else.

This video was so instructive and interesting! I'm a huge HP fan but am so green on what to expect from the game!! Would definitely love your perspective on where to invest talent upgrades (especially since you say they are not refundable)!

I'd say upgrading your extraordinary gear (or whatever the orange items are called) is more important than spending 6000 on all those planting pots. I did the whole game with one small pot and three big ones in the room of retirement. I also had only one potion brewing at a time. I did get the t-shaped stove toward the end to max out on potions before the final boss, but I hardly used any at all, as having great gear and being smart with your spells was the most important thing.

Love this game, it’s different to how I expected but I’ve been playing it since the deluxe edition release date and I love it. At first I was a bit on the fence as I wasn’t sure if it was good or not but after playing now for a longish while I love it.

Note; there is a great mod on Nexus mods that adds a Talents Reset Potion so you can rebuild your Wizard/Witch at anytime.

I played about 50 hours, solved a lot of Merlin trials and Ancient magic puzzled and wondered why I don't get a bigger inventory and more ancient magic slots - only to discover that I need to 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦 completed challenges in the challenge menu.

A small additional help for the Arithmancy doors is the order of the symbols besides the door starting at 0 on the bottom left in clockwise order. I noticed it when I was jumping back and forth between the notes and setting the correct symbols, that the order does line up perfectly.

I've played for 70+ hours before actually following the ancient magic trail and I just feel dumb 🤣
I've always avoided them because I thought it's related to the main quest.
Having a flying mount is really helpful in getting through the map. Sometimes you just want to get to places quickly without all the walking & a straight line will get you there the quickest. Revelio while on the mount will help you see what's all around you so you don't miss those treasure vaults, field guide pages & other stuff.

You sir are a lifesaver. I played the majority of the quests and learned not to explore so much .

I hope with the DLCs, if they make any, i want a dragon mount lol. And Expecto Pantronum with dementors added would be epic

Thank you! I spent entire Friday night on just walking around Hogsmead, but I felt tired in the end, and started thinking maybe I shouldn't be exploring so much so early, but focus on the main story in stead.

My favorite part is the fact that you dont have to go through a loading screen everytime you want to go into a room. I dont know why but it just feels a little different than other games.

For the Arithmancy puzzles you don't need the cheat sheet found in the chest. The images on the frame of the door increase from 0-9 in order. Far left being 0 and far right 9.

The arithmancy doors are super easy, just subtract all the numbers (or associated numbers for the pics) around the outside.. and as far as the beasts go, it’s just counting: like, the unicorn is 1 because it has 1 horn; the spider is 8 bc it has 8 legs, etc.. hope that helps someone!

Your hint on d pad to swap map pages also works on potion tables and potting tables. Only reason I actually use the 5x small for growing dittany for potion farming.

Quick note abt the arithmancy doors, they have the symbols in order from left to right 0-9 around the door so you don’t need to refer to the sheet every time. Most of the symbols also have creatures with the corresponding number of appendages or horns etc.

The room of requirements, the main tip is to buy the 3 moon stone generators first, then every time you go back collect 30 moon stones to conjure more items with.

You can purchase machines in the room of requirement to produce moonstone. They are expensive but they give you ten free moonstone each fairly often so it’s definitely worth it.

I don’t even like Harry Potter. But I absolutely love this game. It’s so fun!
So much of this game could honestly be played easily without any help, with multiple answers on how to get through something. With the math puzzle, I was so close to figuring it out on my own! It was a shame I got so confused by 0 and 7 which honestly; I should have just looked at the door better cause it literally has them in order. Was so close yet so far haha. Doing side quests eventually made me stumble across the answer sheet

I just started this game a few days ago. I love it because, although the game makers are different, it gives off so many AC Valhalla vibes.

You don't need the cheat sheet. The creatures are displayed around the door in numerical order. Bottom left is 0, then clockwise to bottom right which is 9

For the doors the cheat sheet is also around the door as the creatures from left bottom around the door themselves are from 0-9.

If you take the alterations spell off your rotation it's MUCH easier to spam the vanish spell and get rid of everything quicker.

The beasts are on the arch around the door in numerical order. 0 - 9 going left to right. So you don’t really need a picture as reference.

It looks aesthetically better if u don't use the evanesco spell and just take moonstone early in the game before you unlock the room

Doing the main story first until things are unlocked is key. I spent a few hours just exploring Hogwarts and doing side stuff and I think I was like level 23 before I even got the room of requirement and the talent tree and I could immediately fill like half the talent tree and didn't even need the RoR at that point. Same with the broom, I had unlocked so many fast travel points by the time I got the broom that I barely even needed it except for the challenges. I wish it made that more clear that doing side stuff can over-level you so fast. I almost wish that they would nerf the amount of EXP you get for exploration stuff. I was level 15 before I even stepped out of Hogwarts just from running around and collecting pages.

This game was so much fun I’ll probably replay the story again and again and again 😂

This might sound like a backhanded compliment but I promise it’s not, but thank you for not having clickbait titles or thumbnails. It’s becoming more and more common these days, but especially with this game. You don’t BS or beat around the bush, and it’s really appreciated. Keep up the good work (also your male character looks almost exactly like mine, I even wear the same Slytherin jumper all the time lol)

You don't need to take a picture of the arithmancy icon sheet. They are in order arched around each door. They are right there in front of you.

I can't stress enough how much you need to buy the potting tables! Saves me so much time and money

Arithmancy doors - I didn't know there was a cheat sheet. I figured out a pattern that has worked for me on all the doors I've come across so far (6). As you can see from the cheat sheet, each symbol has a numerical value. It's the same as starting on bottom left and counting starting from 0. From there, you just have to do some math to make the outer numbers/symbols (their numerical value) add up to the middle number. After doing this like 6 times my son was like "wtf, why didn't you just use the paper?" ermm....

Petrificus Totalus just randomly unlocked for me and I didn't realize I could cast it until I was looking through my spells. They should have added a class where you learned the spell, I think the game could use more "school" moments to add to the immersion a bit. Seems like a missed opportunity. Still I'm loving the game so much, already at 90% completion and its been a blast!

I think we can agree as soon as he popped up we all used the killing curse just to actually see if it works on bosses

Another stealth tip: if its a strong enemy, u can cast the imperio curse and then cast petrificus totalus on em repeatedly

Here are my tips which no youtuber seems to be talking about:
1. In settings there is an option to enable audio visualizer, have this on it's extremely helpful when you use revelio the ringing of pages gets a bell symbol that you can follow and get the pages easily and it's handy for other things questing or even while fighting you basically get a prompt that tells you someone teleported behind you for example.
2. Damage buffs: The traits ambush and unforgivable are the highest damage buffers in game but there is a catch for both. Ambush does the most but it needs you to attack from stealth luckily an invisibility potion makes it on always and you can curse an enemy before attacking to do the most damage possible, unforgivable gives you a high damage buff when something is cursed however ambush is better it also applies to plants and well as petrificus totallus and that matters because you only half hp a troll that is petrified but with ambush it gets one shotted. Ambush lets you play like a skyrim sneak archer you spells are one shotting enemies in stealth. Plants like cabbage do 1k+ damage per bite if you threw them while in stealth.
3. Broom quest from weekes shop in hogsmead do this as early as possible your broom will become super fast but it costs a lot of gold luckily capturing animals lets you sell each for 120 gold so getting around 15,000 for the broom is not only east but super worth it since there are places with no nearby fast travel like hen something hideout that has a bunch of quest related to it. Also get all the foo flames by flying around the map so that it's fully colored this also lets you know were are the secondary activities are and the dens of creatures.
4. There are ways to more easily kill enemies and that's abusing stuns if you freeze a target you can walk up to it and petrify it to one shot it. You can't petrify if other enemies see you unless they are also stunned so you can aresto 1 enemy, glacius 1 enemy, transform 1 enemy, imperio 1 enemy, crucio 1 enemy and avada 1 enemy so you basically can clear any room easily by abusing them. Descendo on the transformed enemy one shots it you can magic throw to kill 2 with 1 spell. So because of this if you bombarda the enemies next to each other and one shot them, confrigo and kill other enemies if they spot you, you can use these to kill them off easily.
5. You should have a pair of all 12 animals and you will only have 1 phoenix. You need the animals because what they give you as a drop is used to upgrade your gear and you want to upgrades as early as possible. You should have 4 breeders always pumping out animals because it gives a ton of XP and 4 creatures sold is 600 gold.
6. Unlock all the spells as soon as possible as well as grab all the demiguise to get alohamora rank 3 fast to unlock the third difficulty locks because many legendary chests or rooms filled with loot are behind that and this makes you op. I recommend you attend the class that teaches you how to take care of pets and then you get the sack to start catching pets early on because that's the best money making method in game which lets you buy things from vendors and that lets you finish the assignments faster so you get all the spells faster.
7. READ usually there is a secret that not even revelio lets you know about unless you read whatever note there is and those give you loot!
8. Revelio upgrade is the first thing you should get imo it also gets a longer range when you are on a mount!

If you can get somewhere above the enemies (height wise, off mount) if you aren’t to high above them you can accio the enemies and when they drop it’s usually an instant kill it deals like 3000 damage

I got all the way to the end without knowing about the spell diamonds. So I consistently used just 4 spells to get thru. I came so close to beating the final boss so may times before I found out I could have 16 spells stored at a time. Once I learned this and after getting thru ridiculous battles with the handicap I unknowingly bestowed upon myself, I bea the final boss with superb ease

Quick note. The Jackaby Quest starts differently for each house.

I spent 10 hours on the Ravenclaw story line and got to level 18 before I had to stop. (I was playing on the Xbox of the family I babysit and pet sit for. They gave me permission to play the game) I didn’t delete my progress but I feel like they’ll be a little shocked to see how long I played. 😂 I thought the kids were playing a lot but they only played a couple of hours. 😂

This game is so much better than I anticipated. If devs rapidly create and implement multiplayer, this could be the biggest game of all time. 🔥

Dark spell will effect friendship
It was said but so far i did not see see but it said it will effect friendship with other character that might lock or unlock new path.
This might be a new addition storyline they might add later in game where u could become the bad villain it self

regarding the arithmancy doors: forcing each one takes 1 to 2 minutes, its super quick because each door only has limited options to choose from and not the entire list.

I honestly thought those doors were easy to understand what you needed to do. The problem was, I assumed the first image was worth 1, not 0. But after a few failures I realized it was a zero.

You don't need a screen shot or cheat sheet for the puzzle doors. The guide is literally pictured around the door, each animal has 0-9 appendages etc. :)

Thanks for the video. Two notes: 1. You don’t need that cheat sheet for the door puzzles. Everything you need it right on the door/frame. 2. You don’t need to delete all of the cosmetics for moonstones. Just buy and build the spell craft that lets you generate moonstones for free.

I initially took a picture of the legend, but the animals are in number order. Awesome guide tho, this helps ❤ Also, get on your broom to go places faster. You can stay ground level 😊

just to clarify when unlocking Avada Kadavra, you don’t have to be level 27, it says recommended level 27 and imo the quest is not that difficult if you are underleveled

I figured out the door after brute forcing one of them. I had initially figured it was 1-10. But when that didn't work I worked backwards and realized the demiguise was a 0.

The doors numbers correspond from. Left to right as well. Starting at demiguise at 0 and as you go up and over to the right they correspond to numbers 0-9.

Fan fact about the 8th tip, every door is a combination of 25 different types of passwords, so you can simply guess it and it won't consume that much time anyway

3:20, It wasn't all that hard, some of the creatures give it away and you kind of connect the dots, far bottom left starts with 0, and works around the arc in sequence 1 (unicorn 1 horn),2 (2 horns),3 (3 heads),4,5 (has 5 legs),6,7 .8 (spider has 8 legs),9 (hydra has 9 heads) around the door. I have to say that playing this game has really challenged my creativity. It's the first game I'm actually trying to finish - ever! and going in, my strategy has always been attack blast attack. It took me a Google search to find out how to open the Eye Chests because it can't just be blasted off 😅
Henrietta's Hideaway was a challenge for me too and when I Googled how to get the cubes out of the cells, I FINALLY realized that I don't think creatively enough (that far in the game, yes). Managed to get through the trick floor on my own and was so proud of that 🤣

The door to the puzzles are in order from 0-9. My first few hours playing, I was running around hoping to find an answer to them. I started playing around with them till I noticed the amount of whatever made them a number. The spider gave me an indication. Then it hit me. Each symbol is a number to add to another and it’s either 1-10, because most puzzles don’t normally start with a 0 in games or any I’ve seen recently. Luckily I realized it was 0-9 because of the puzzle that had the number 4 and 2 numbers 3 and 1 and a ?. I’m actually happy I figured this out. I should of been a Ravenclaw based on how I’m figuring out puzzles before finding the information to do so.

Petrificus totalus only one taps enemies if they aren’t insanely buffed up. Like, if you somehow use petrificus toatalus on a troll(I don’t even think you can), it wont one tap. Certain enemies are too op to get one-tapped. Just thought I’d specify.

On the puzzle doors you just need to know the order of the animals go from left bottom, over door to right bottom and they start at 0 and go to 9.
