It seems that while under the Ottoman's Skanderbeg had at least 2 fiefs. If that is fact, it's more likely he was a Sipahi and not Janissary. Janissaries did not (usually) have their own land -- they were inclined to take whatever booty was available after conquering. Sipahi's in some ways were a 'higher' class where land tenures were more common.

This book of 648 pages from 2018, which we have used as our main source of the videos, have gathered not only Barletis work, but Turkish, Italian, Romanian, Albanian and many other authors.

Not claiming we are historians, however, according to Albanian Academy of Sciences and the book by Kristo Frashëri "Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu - Jeta dhe vepra", claims otherwise.

The names can be explained Simply, they were Orthodox Names, Skanderbeg had converted to Catholicism from Islam but before that he was Orthodox, And the Albanian church did not exist at that time so the Minor Albanian Church was under the Roman Papal Church or the Greek Orthodox Church, You had serbian monks in albanian churches and you had albanian monks in serbian Brankovic Churches, The names did not matter, And most of the names arent even serbian originally or at the time atleast, they were Roman-Greek, Associated with orthodoxy, rathger than serbian Slavic Names, Skanderbeg avoided that after the heated disagreements and emnity with the Brankovic.
