Hi Rene
It's crazy how creative these developers got, not only poking fun but also in a way that they actually succeeded at anti-pirating
Except they don't succeed, I pirated Mirrors Edge and Alan Wake and didn't know about these measures until I saw this video. Pirates will crack anything that isn't multiplayer only, and even then with some games they have. The only singleplayer games I know of that haven't been cracked are both of the new cod mw games.
@@bksniperguy oh wow
@@creefcreef8622they dont really do these anymore because you can crack anything nowadays
@@bksniperguy Truth. The Spyro actually treated it as "Challenge Accepted" when they thought they succeded one hundred percent at first but then found out they didn't.
@@bksniperguy I got the gta4 drunk mode, I heard it cost rockstar quite a bit to implement. The crack came out the next day. I also had mirrors edge but I never had an issue.
Dude....makes so much sense now why I never finished Spyro 3 as a kid. When I got the games for Christmas...they weren't in regular game cases...but like a blockbuster plastic tape case.
I specifically remember Zoe saying that to me in the first world and getting super creeped out. I was by myself no older than 10 looking around in the room I was in. Wondering how in the fuck Zoe became sentient and talked to me about illegal games
Bro what lmao
It was a weird as shit experience that I didn't understand until I was older
I bet you were ripping your hair out And if you have a sibling Asking them to pull your hair
So your parents were just pirating all the games you got as a kid??? That's rough man.
Former GameStop employee here. Physical games are very much alive and well. Tons of people buy physical games and honestly I don't see them becoming obsolete, nor gamestops either, anytime soon. Not to mention a lot of physical games come with extra things- not just manuals but some come with stuff like stickers or keychains, even codes for in-game skins/dlc/etc.
They’re also cheaper then digital I got Mario kart 7 for 12$ physically but it was like 50$ on the store
@@dad1158 i honestly dont care that much lmao i was just talking about what ive observed
@@dad1158 ain’t readin allat 😂
I like to have a physical copy of my games. That way no matter what could happen to my account or console I have the game. But also I just like it, disc make brain go brrrt.

Honestly a LOT of the fake ones take it too far in the scary factor. It's meant to be cynical, not nightmare-inducing
most of the fake 1s arent even scary tbh, it gets old with bleeding red eyes 💀
The Tomadachi Life one is good tho, even if it's fake. Basically like Game Dev Tycoon, they punish pirates...with pirates.
That's impressive it's not easy to recreate people in the Sims. 10/10

Get you a girl who will scour the internet looking for the absolute perfect, custom content alpha hairstyle for your simself. She is sacrificing not only her time, but the integrity of her computer for you. Some of these sims modders have zero chill when it comes to keeping their poly counts down and that game is clunky enough as it is.
@@dapperfinch that's so true. like some cc hairs will have a set of 6 colors, but the whole .package is like 60mb. for my Sims 2 i have like 15ish gb, and for Sims 4 about 12. the amount of life support my Sims 2 is on is especially alarming.
@@dnsoulx you are braver than the troops, working on that ticking time bomb, frfr. Lol, I hope a computer upgrade is in the cards for you, soldier.
@@dapperfinch thank you lol. i honestly think my pc is fairly decent still. i have a gtx 1060, i5 intel core, 16gb ram, and a 2tb hdd. but it's quickly dying out, and i'd love to upgrade my processor, get an ssd, and go up to 32gb ram. woe is the gamer, for fortune never stays
It’s wild, all the fan piracy screens were supposed to be unsettling when in reality the developers just trolled everybody in a funny way and prevented the game from being beatable. Thank you Tuv for showing us that surprise
tuv you should definitely make podcasts about morbid topics, would love to listen to them during class

As an avid Tuv viewer and Sims player, Ambers character creation skills are on point asf!
To be honest, I don't think the idea of a man dating an older woman is bad. In fact, the UAclipsr, 'AugustTheDuck', made a reaction video about a man who dates grandmas, and August respected the man's life choice. With that said, from my research on Marietta Loredo, she was a perv, a producer of fisstech (basically the Witcher's version of crack) and an associate with dark magic, so it made sense for Tuv to say "funny and disgusting" in that context.
i used to be so scared of those fake fan-made screens in 2020 when I first discovered them , and respectfully they still freak the shit out of me 💀
Omfg the animal crossing ones scared the shit out of me the most lmao

I wholeheartedly agree😅
One of the funniest anti piracy screens that I've ever seen was in the game Michael Jackson the Experience, where the audio for every song is converted into the sound of a horn.
Please link this to me
WAIT THATS SO FUNNY LMAO
@yoshi_21
Hooohooo💀
i was obsessed with anti piracy screens because i thought they looked so cool, both real and fake ones. i've always been into weird stuff like that so i'm really happy you made a video covering them :)
Honestly vinnysaurce creepiest corruptions would be great anti piracy screens especially the run one
Ain’t gonna lie, Tuv is taking over the world. I’m so happy for you, gangy.
just some extra knowledge here for snes stuff, sort of a snes nerd myself
the sram (where the game saves data) always defaults to a large size on a wild card. the game can detect that the sram is longer/shorter than usual, and trigger an anti piracy screen
dkc 2 and 3 did it, super mario all stars did it, it was just really useful.
I buy physical copies of games. I'm not actually sure why since getting it online and SD cards is a lot easier but something about the physical copy appeals to me. Gamespots also sell pop figures and have an online store though so I doubt they'll go extinct that soon. Great video!!
People who get crazy into the sims with CC and mods are extremely talented at making people. Your girlfriend did great.
Hi I play sims but I can’t recreate real people to save my life . My normal sims don’t even look good . But I have way too much cc . My computer definitely hates me
@@KASPlaysSims There’s always mods or the library that can just give you preset characters.

@@KASPlaysSims 4, I can’t play the older ones bc I’m on Xbox and I didn’t own any of them on Xbox 360
I very very rarely pirate games but when I do, it's usually to play it as a demo.
If I enjoy the game in the first hour or so, I'll buy it and continue playing it.
Game devs don't do demos anymore so I make a demo my own way.
Also never pirate from indie / small developers. Idc if someone is pirating from EA/other Billion dollar companies.
The Gary's Mod has to be the cleverest Anti Pirating I have seen.
I don’t want physical games to be eradicated. I’d be pissed if it happened. I like the look of a nice collection of physical games. That and some games, (it rarely happens nowadays but anywho) will come with a poster in the game cover. Those are my favorite posters to have. But even physical posters are kind of going out of style too. You don’t even know how stressed I get when I think about it too much😭I prefer physical over digital any day.
Here's the million dollar question:
Who the hell would pirate Amoung us?
Lol I have idk why
honestly it'd be really fun to see a video on the fake ones, some of them could have some really fun stories to them
Never knew anti-piracies can have its own dark world.
@snow wym?
@snow Or y'all could, yk, not go all grammar Nazi because you feel that "its" can't be used in this instance
Scary
there's no way brother put the comma in, the wrong, place💀
@Peachy1621 is this like a joke or something you also put the commas in the wrong place 🤓
I didn't know sims 4 had an anti piracy feature so when I saw the thumbnail, i thought the anti piracy was that they'd make your sim look exactly like you to creep you out or something and maybe make your sim house an exact replica of your actual house
Now that I said it out loud, it sounds like a game creepypasta waiting to happen
That would be brilliant 😂😂
We had a solution to piracy back in the early-mid 1990s. Shareware games were released with a perfectly playable, _complete_ episode for FREE, including a final boss. It was a game in its own right, but if you wanted to continue the experience and finish the entire game, you'd buy the full copy at your local retailer. It was win-win. :)
Some of those anti cheats should be released for the actual game as challenge mode. I would love to take on a game with a weapon that launches chickens at my opponent.
The FF crystal chronicles one is actually pretty genius. If they put in a 20 minute timer, hackers might think they are done because the game is running perfectly fine only to find out they have to go back to the drawing board after perhaps already publishing the incomplete version. Same applies to year of the dragon where a bit of gameplay is required first in order to find out as pirates that they aren't done yet, which delays the release of a working pirated version.
The fact that the pirated version of spyro says "the adventure continues" when resetting your game is so cruel and hilarious
Its cool to see how much work Tuv actually puts in compared to other youtubers
this is the one thing that scares me, even the real anti-piracy screens 😭
16:18 I love collecting physical copies of new and old videogames. I just love putting them on display in my room! Loved the video as always :))
i absolutely love EarthBound and the anti piracy measurements on it are one of the reasons why
Bro I love you man. Your awesome. Thanks for being genuine and real.
The real anti-piracy screens scared me more when it said that what the player is doing is illegal or what the developers put into the pirated versions that are disturbing. The fake ones also give me the creeps but they feel less scary and feel more like a forced way of trying it's best to scare you
The fake ones just scream "baby's first creepypasta" to me honestly.
facts
Piracy is no party 😁😁
@@bat6353 More like Baby's first scary bedtime story
I still buy physical versions. Something about going to get the real game just feels satisfying
This stuff was WAY cool, I’d love to hear about more stuff like this.
it's funny and also spooky how some anti piracy measurements can be but one of my favorites are the ones from the DJMAX Portable series in which the game starts normal but after 2 to 3 minutes the games audio starts to crackle but soon more later the game starts messing around ingame shift pitching the audio from the keysounds to the game itself and mess around with onscreen stuff Neowiz and Pentavision really did themselves on that one.
Amber did awesome on your TS4 character! It takes a lot of work to make a character look like a real person. Nice work, Amber! Btw, love the new Earl drip, Tuv!
What I love about TUV videos is that he almost never brings the most known topics, even his top 10 videos have topics that I say "where the fuk do you find this things?"
I love how tuv can make something that isn't even that entertaining entertaining lol

He can make a video about how people breathe and still make it funny

Hey turv, I just wanted to compliment you on how well your channel is doing, I watched some of your old vids where you were so excited to have a few thousand subscribers but look at you now!! You are doing great, man keep up the good work❤
I like the games that don’t end immediately when they see that it’s pirated. It’s kinda like giving the player a demo, which isn’t really a thing anymore.
im having a terrible day and this vid is making lots better. Great video tuv, keep up the great work :D
It’s crazy to me just how many people would rather work a 9-5 rather than something they love just cause they’re afraid of failure. You’ll never get anywhere if you don’t attempt it. Keep working ! 💙💯
Me and my mate went on a streak of watching fake anti piracy videos, they were hilarious. After a night of grinding ds2 we decided to watch a couple, and it took us down a crazy UAclips rabbit hole. I check the clock and it's bloody 6am. I will never get that night back.

i remember when i first found out about spyro's antipiracy i told my mom and she got upset because in that moment she realised her version of spyro that she got when she was younger was pirated 💀 rip
The issue with anti-piracy like that in mirrors edge is that the files can be easily manipulated to fix the slowing. It's funny, but ultimately avoidable.
To be honest, I will buy my games physically as long as I can. I love collecting them in my gaming shelf and as an added benefit, I can just swap discs with my friends or straight-up sell games I don't like or want anymore
I found your channel through Charlie. I’ve been watching a lot recently and enjoying! Keep up the good work!!

Thank you for making a video about actual piracy measures and not the memes that have been made out there.
I have to give credit and say that some of the fake anti-piracy measures for some games are made well-enough and they're interesting in their own right, but personally, it bugged the heck out of me. I find this stuff fascinating and you can imagine when I searched for it around the time they started popping up that I found the fake ones.
the sims character is scarily good, she did a great job
The best anti-piracy methods will always be the sillier, goofy methods and not the shitty new methods they employ that end up affecting the paying customers a whole lot more. Great video, tuv!
The spider one would've made me freak out, I'd never pirate a game again after that lol
I still buy physical copies because there’s something satisfying about looking at it in the car and having it on my shelf. But I agree with you, Gamestops will probably go extinct in a few years, makes me kinda sad 😭
Nah man, nothing will ever beat the feeling of getting a physical copy of a game.
Yup

keep up the good work you’re the few authentic UAclipsrs left
the GTA 4 one I remember dearly. I pirated like 2 copies when I was a kid, and both of them had these. To say I was pissed was an understatement. I did not have 1Gb up/down internet back then like I have now, so it took me days to download, only to be greeted with Rockstar's shenanigans 2 times. I respect them now as an adult and have since then bought the game, but if you pirate it I totally understand and feel your pain.
Thanks to the people that travels back in time to become pirates and record this footage :D
I wonder if the 2319 error code had any impact on the Monsters, Inc writers room when they came up with the “Code 2319” sock decontamination bit.
The sim your gf made looks like a semi-realistic illustration of you! That is so impressively accurate!
Maxis match is beautiful, to bad I’m on console
I love physical copies of games! Collecting them is so much fun
It's also smart to do cause while digital copies take up little to no physical space, it does give more control to the companies selling them in some cases. Hell, there's some games that, sometime after they were bought digitally, we're shut down with no way to play them.
Meanwhile physical copies are good to play till they wear out.
Huge fan of this channel and love the mixture of content quick keep up the fantastic work
Not video game related but I will always remember watching DVDs etc and getting the guy sitting by the campfire and his eyes glow red red and he would say about piracy and then at the end he would point a cow Marker to the screen
The amount of times he said "crackers" during thr Spyro segment had me DYING
In slight defense of the fake ones, when it’s a good fake, it really shows. Like, I remember being pretty fooled with the mario 64 one that played a bowser laugh before leading to a screen with the game over song, Mario shocked and looking at papers with the “It’s a serious crime to pirate” copypasta.
When it looks believable I take it more as a proof of concept video, at how even something as simple as a “hey maybe let us know if this is a fake copy” screen can feel so eerie. The ones that are creepy for the sake of cringe creepypasta edits kinda just oversaturated the search bar after anti piracy screens became a meme.
i also love the gamecube one where it immediately resets your console and goes "hey is this a real disc? enter the code on it now." and it outright locks the console if you fail. none of that baby's first creepypasta stuff with hyperrealistic blood, it gave me chills back then.
i think i love the ones where it makes the game so difficult to the point that you just wanna give up or just prevents you from playing in a subtle way like that tloz one where you cant control the train anymore.
i love how some games end up making the pirates self-snitch, it's pretty smart and incredibly funny watching people freak out over their free game not working properly
I’m so glad you decided to do this topic. I’ve always found anti piracy screens fascinating
I litterally love buying physical copy’s of games. Also it’s so cool seeing a video on anti piracy I’ve loved these for the longest time it’s so interesting brother
When he asked if people still go to GameStop, i wanted to say yes, but then I remembered the one closest to me shut down because of covid. It really sucks because I would always go there whenever i got money, but yeah I still use physical copies because if you only get digital copies and something happens to your console then its most likely all gone, but if you have physical copies, then your progress may be reset but you still have the games. Also, that sims character does look a lot like you.
Good morning 🌅 tuv 📁🔎 ☕ ❤️😆 oooh your anti piracy video is well made excellent job well done amazing work as always those priracy rumors seems very rather their true or false is up to debate but those rumors looks absolutely false from the look of things anyway this is well made great video my dude hopefully everything goes smoothly really enjoying your content a lot stay safe and healthy have a fabulous day looking forward for New videos keep being awesome tuv 📁🔎☕❤️😆.
as a kid my dad got me an R4 for my DS lite, and one of the games he pirated for it was LOZ: Spirit Tracks. i didn't know what piracy or anti-piracy were, and i couldn't figure out why i couldn't progress past the first train section. after spending years of thinking the game was just stupidly confusing and i was too dumb to figure it out, i finally found out that it was unplayable because my dad had pirated it.
I still buy Physical copies, the cartridges/discs look cool. Great video Tuv, the way game companies do anti piracy is funny 🤣

Anti piracy in a nutshell
Game: Buckle up!
Pirate: Wha- Where are the controls!?
Game: HA! It was just expression
I remember getting really scared about anti privacy when I was younger
Thanks for making this video man I’m really sick and you made my day ❤
Go to every GameStop I come across! It’s all about the fun stuff, sometimes a gem of something used super cheap, and just being able to walk around and enjoy things in person. Even conversation with people that bleed gamer blood like me is a treat!
Man I feel strange being a 17 year old who collects physical copies of games. It seems like it would be a hobby that older audiences would get involved with. But I love doing it and I really don’t want physical copies of games to go out of style
anti-piracy screens have always freaked me out but i also found them kinda cool 😭
Physical copies are definitely still a thing. And a necessity. Though an all digital library is convenient it's not always the best. Think about silent hill p.t. Because there was no physical release (because it was a demo) it has been lost to everyone except those who had it downloaded previously to it being taken off the digital stores.
We need a part 2 of this
Tuv: Who doesn't physical copy anymore!?
Meanwhile Me: *Looking at my DVD collection and ordering them online*
I sometimes buy physical copies of the games I like because I mostly play indie games so it supports the dev and it's kinda nice to have a disc for it. idk I just like it lol
as a kid, i loved to watch those fake anti piracy videos (but then at night i would shit my pants), so this really brings back some memories. thanks tuv!

"Who buys physical copies of games anymore?" *Shyly raises hand.* I prefer the physical copies because it looks cooler on a shelf...
I enjoy your content so much because it really helps me with my anxiety although it‘s often about darker topics. The way you talk is so gripping yet calming. Love laying down after a long day to then see that you‘ve uploaded again. Thank you for your content. (Also that sim looks dope)
Good job Tuv, great stuff!
on the subject of buying physical copies of games, I definitely do when I can. I like having a physical proof to the collection of games I have, something to display. also in the event my internet goes down or if something happens to whatever cloud library I have, I don't want to be locked out of playing all of my games!
As a person with a few pirated games, I haven't found anything in the games I have. Though a lot come in Chinese to make it harder to find the buttons and to change it to English, making a few people just uninstall it.
i buy the physical copies, i think its better because the digitals take up space while physicals take little space for saves and saves on the disc, and its easier to bring a physical copy to a friends house.
I tend to like buying physical copies of games when I can, both because I'm just so used to having a physical copy and because it's extra protection from a game going extinct: all it takes is a game to stop being hosted on a server and for it to no longer be on your hard drive for something you bought to never be available again.
