You know it's a long and packed showcase when the shorter version is 26min!
Kind of, some of the features are on the level of multiple times 😅
it coulda been cut down to 4 minutes
Multi Timer is a break through innovation 😂😂😂
Yeah this is waaaaay too long... Could seriously cut this down to 5 minutes
@Jono MacDougall doubt it
This short version is the greatest thing to ever happen to the WWDC .. Meaning, for the first time ever, I watched the WWDC, because it only took 26 minutes and was easily as informative as the long version .. Thanks team
WWDC is for developers. That’s why they go in depth into every update to the software
Verge has always had a shorter version
9:57 “Now you can even keep track of multiple timers. We truly live in an age of wonders.” lol
I laughed out loud 😅. One hundred percent confident this was a joke by him and the scriptwriters 😂
They know 🤣
Came here looking for this comment 😂😂
Still watching but had to stop because of laughing because of that! Apple being self-deprecating!? Those wonders will never cease! 😆
not calculator app yet,
I cackled when they named a feature “EyeSight” 😂
it was great overall, they know how to make things look inspiring
and Vision Pro might have a non Pro version, they are showing the Pro version first to make the best impression possible AND it is a dev kit
They should have named it iSight 😂
They didn't make a very good impression. It's a MacBook on your face.. I'm sure there are people looking for that but your average VR enthusiast is likely not one of them.
@Thezuule I don’t think they care what the average VR enthusiast thinks.
@Thezuuleit’s 3500 they don’t care abt the average anything lol
@Thezuule I was the above-average VR enthusiast and was invited to internal focus groups. I tired of it after the Quest 2 and the Quest Pro wasn't Pro enough. This is what I've been waiting for. VR is too isolating. This is perfect. I can still interact with people outside of the HMD.
Wow. I am a millennial and I am still impressed by how much technology advances as time goes by ...
Honestly… it’s kind of overwhelming.
and how expensive it gets
Those widget updates were much needed. It brings it closer to Android widgets
Yes - but was also hoping for control center and notification changes
@Chris Mundiath iOS 19
@Chris Mundiath definitely want notification changes
Yes, love the widget changes. It's one reason why I never switched off Android.
Meanwhile Windows users get buggy web-based widgets in lieu of live tiles 😩
We truly live in an age of wonders!
I was looking for this comment
Multiple timers!!! This is the future!
the mixed reality goggles are amazing and exactly what I’m looking for. Too bad its like $4K. I don’t see a market for it and its amazing
This had to be intentionally hilarious
Age of nonsense
The AR headset demo looks liked something from a Black Mirror episode. We truly live in an age of wonders!
Funny enough it made me appreciate the real life even more. I’m a fan of technology but this keep you at home and isolated thing is scary.
@10secondsrule I feel the same. The scene at 19:05 where father wears the headset while his children are playing is mega creepy.
@Evgenii Neumerzhitckii feels almost exactly like ready player 2 (just without the direct brain interface)
Glad to see I'm not the only one terrified by this
I said the exact same thing yesterday!
All day performance when plugged in! The wonders of technology!
😂😂😂
I'll be honest, it's the first time in a VERY long time that Apple is showing something that actually looks interesting for a non-Apple user like myself. And ironically enough, even if I've been interested in VR/AR since John Carmack first VR prototype (pre-Oculus) the Vision Pro while interesting for some feature and less for many others, it's probably the least interesting bit in the whole presentation, which says quite a lot given that it does intrigue me quite a lot.
Thank you for doing these keynote edits. Always appreciated!
When the shorter version of a showcase runs for a whopping 26 minutes, you know it's a jam-packed and epic event! 🎉🎥
The attention to detail in the software side is amazing
VisionPro seems like a great tool, but i'll wait for a smaller formfactor
*So this is the real Eyephone, got it.*
::cymbal crash::
Futurama did it.
😂
Funnily enough, one of the early VR companies in the 80s - VPL - had a headset called EyePhone.
It was also very expensive, retailing at $9400.
Or a Eye Mac
Vision Pro is going to do so much for accessibility for those with limited dexterity
Unless ure blind lol
@Hilal Younus 💀
Captions for the deaf could be possible too.
@Mike Markoe as if phones don't have that feature lmao
@Mike Markoe and if you’re blind?
Multiple timers being an amazing feature. Like dude, what took you so long.
he didn't have enough timers to track how long the wait was
😂😂
Bro you could see him holding back a chuckle when he said that. I lost it. 😂
10:00 _“We truly live in an age of wonders”_
that vision pro thing looks sick especially with the disney movie and sport view. that’s insane! and for cheaper than the mac is kinda wild considering how innovative the tech is.
Probably the best WWDC in awhile. Biggest surprise was probably the pricing on the 15 in. MacBook Air. I can see why Allle did it though. Low sales on Macs… and they needed to get rid of the M2 chips to make room for m3.
They def. Are offering a good product though. Just ordered my 15 inch just after launch. Can’t wait’
Apple**
The macbook pros are gonna be huge when they come out for many people. If they could bundle it with the headset I'd upgrade next year.
🎉 Yep Air with apple silicon is truly awesome. The value it offers at this price point is incredible. Plus lucky are the ones who live in US cos they can get it at a discounted price further still😅
Unfortunately the higher tier storage and RAM on those MacBooks are 1000%+ markups...
I've not met many people more critical of Apple than I am, but I've liked a lot of the moves they've been making recently.
I love the sarcastic ‘we truly live in an age of wonders’ line from Craig at 10:00 now that the iPad can track more than one timer at the same time (something the Apple Watch has done for a long time)
Stand By literally the only thing that I’m excited for. I was hoping for a control center revamp.
Not many people realize how life-changing this kind of technology can be for people who aren’t mobile, or are severely disabled. When you’re bed-ridden, the option to be immersed in a different world can literally make all the difference in mental health.
The vision pro seems like it could be helpful for those of us with a visual impairment 😊
Hope you’re satify with it.
Large amount of money though!
Apple is finally getting reasonably creative!
They’re getting better… again. Still disappointed in some of the prices they have for what they offer and forcing you to choose the products with more storage.
MacBook Air price was good though
@Chris Mundiath the prices called me poor in too many ways than one 🤣
@Chris Mundiath to be fair, Apple was always costly. The first iPhone price was outrageous when it came out. I thought no one would spend 500 dollars on a phone, but now people spend nearly 2k on those folding ones.
Innovative or catching up? At best they make existing technology work as it should from the start. It hard to believe the rest of the tech world can make user experience this good but I guess it comes with huge limitations when you in Apple environment. I love the experience of using my iPads but can only do maybe 1/10th of what my android phone can even I personally don’t enjoy using it.
@10secondsrule eh I enjoy my m1 iPad a lot more than my phone
wild that multiple timers came at an event where the arguably most advanced piece of consumer technology was announced
8:40 They make sure to clarify cats & dogs
14:10 Windows has that
15:15 Is that glitching thing from the actual Apple stream?
20:00 Apple & Disney is a collab that makes sense
20:16 They should've showed Alonso overtaking Perez at the start instead but I guess the timing tower wouldn't have been there & they wanted it to be
The video I was waiting for, thank you Verge!!
is it just me who is exited about mac pro and changable slots:D they should add option to change motherboard
Vision Pro is incredible and a little toooo much, I like the world around me and I don't think I need another way to look at my phone.
I would call this key note, we're opening up now. And letting other companies add stuff.
i like that this has no commentary, it's just an edited version of the actual keynote 👍
Thank you for the abbreviated presentation. The 2hr original, while awesome, was overwhelming.
Excellent video and a very interesting product indeed!..Thanks for sharing buddy.
Should be fun to watch the hash Apple will make out of transcribing messages. And just think, multiple opportunities for Siri to screw up in one command
The technology now that I’m 30 is completely mind blowing, it’s already sorcery, in 30 more years I’m sure we will have a reality beyond belief, maybe a city on the moon
Now a headphone jack for the Air: that's innovation I can get behind. Those sleep covers look uncomfortable, tho. (You'll dream of how else you could've spent that money...)
Apple just brought to life my master's project with vision pro..😮
"We truly live in an age of wonders" 😂 slayed!
The REAL story here is those 5,000 patents. Of course I'm sure they're all very well deserved and won't result in any devs or competing products being lawyered out of existence for no good reason because Apple is an honorable company and not at all sleazy...
Apple always takes it to the next level.
Simply awesome !
So Apple wants their workers to come back to the office but they couldn't do a live in person conference.
there aint no benefits for apple to do a live in person conference but there are if workers come to the office
WWDC is in-person this year, but the presentation was prerecorded and screened for all attendees.
Hefty price tag for augmented google! 3.5K 😂 but it will become a benchmark for others to follow. Great job Apple!
The screen protector is an additional, saaaay, $1500?
Now this Vision Pro might be useful vs whatever the heck Facebook is trying to do
Thanks 😊I been waiting for this from you guys 😊😊
The next big thing from Apple but completely reinvented to accompany this, is the Apple Cam. It’ll be the size of 2 Apple Watch Ultras smashed together with “NEW” camera lense(s) setup and Chip coming to the iPhone 15 Pro. This new Cam will be able to shoot 8K and capture 3D Panoramic View with Spatial Audio. You will now be able to capture, edit and share on Vision PRO. Then they announce their AppleTV and Music deals. You thought NPR Tiny Desk performances were great for artists, just wait. Boxing matches. MLB and NBA. I anticipate that there will also be more peripherals at launch. I joked about an Anker Battery Bank Vest. Then there would be haptic vest, of course. The different headband colors. It’s gotta come in Space Grey or some other exclusive color.
Is it just me that’s hyped about the journal app? 😁
15:15 I had a Blackmagic capture device that would also render a specific shade of red into that weird dark green.
Soh it's not the phone i own phone fault?
@Tanishq HoodaNo, it seems the editing software Verge used caused this artifact.
The VisionPro looks insane 😮😮😮😮
insanely expensive
@onnyx malonzo that's what people said about the original iPhone in 2007 when it launched for $599 and Windows Mobile stylus "smart"phones were $250 on contract. Now even poor people don't blink twice dropping >$1k on an iPhone or S23 Ultra.
@onnyx malonzo keep in mind too, each of those displays inside the headset is between 4k and 5k resolution, per eye. That's pretty insane.
@David C "Now even poor people don't blink twice dropping >$1k on an iPhone or S23 Ultra."
WTF. In what alternate world do you live?
I wonder if, through creative coding, you could drive someone insane using VP?
Will Netflix crack down on SharePlay? 👀 Also, the Disney+ app looks so sick! 😆
So you couldn't download a region on maps in order to use it offline? Until now ?
I gotta say those VR headset look really promising
באייפון 15 יהיה במקולים אודיו Reaytracing כמו באפל Vision Pro טים בקילר רעיון. גם ברגיל. עם תמיכה באפלקציות ומשחקים.
Appreciate the verge for shorten the 2 hours presentation!
Apple had made life more complicated by introducing such freaked gadgets. It was way gud back in 80s and 90s when we use to sit and talk face to face and connect emotionally with family and friends but now we all day remain busy using our phones and other gadgets all the time. Trust me one day we all gonna be fed up with all this crappy things and regret it.
I am still wondering if IpadOS 17 external monitor support will only be compatible with M1 equipped ipads ? You know because non-M1 only mirrors ipad screen to external monitor… thanks again
Love 'em or hate 'em, Apple really are the kings of marketing
Visión Pro could be useful in my work related duties but I don’t see I will buying it as a personal item.
Vision pro just changed the vr game. You know people are gonna try and replicate that now for cheaper with the see thru eye thing. My thing is vr has had a tough time gaining popularity for years and with a price tag like that it’s not very competitive. Tho I’m sure apple is the best
This is more AR so...
Lmao AR has been around way before Apple made the Vision Pro. It’s not gonna “change the VR game” it’s a different thing. Microsoft HoloLens came out in 2016.
Honestly I hope other companies don't do the see through eye thing, it looks creepy AF. It was weird when Google did it, was weird when Microsoft did it and it's still weird now that Apple are doing it.
The biggest problem with VR is how isolating it is. Like you said, this goes a long way to fix that issue. But yes, the price is probably too high for mass market. I say probably because that's also what people said about the original iPhone when it launched for $599. At that time, it was >2x the Windows mobile "smart" phones that used a stylus. So who knows?
@Stonkey Kong yeah but none of those companies have the influence that Apple does in mainstream pop culture
so most of the iOS updates are not System Updates but just mere Individual App Updates. Got it 👍
no wonder they have to and are able to provide them for 7+ years.
Disappointed there’s still no mention of a native calculator app on iPad and no new MacBook Pro
But still lots of exciting stuff!
10:00 'We truly live at an age of wonders"
Best part of the show with his lil grin
Can’t wait for Apple to finally release “Turn your phone off and go outside”
Audio messages in iMessage used to be the last possible way you could be "somewhat comforted" that it wasn't scanning your texts for ad ideas. Now it's transcribing them too, so that's gone. Good job, Big Brother.
Looking forward to see next *Vision Pro max 5G with Dynamic island* version 😊👍
what a time to be alive!!!!
Multiple timers = “We truly live in an age of wonders” 😂
Reality Vision Pro will add a nice touch to my apps! perfect lmao
Ios 17 is basically just adding android features. Except check in, that's a really cool new one
26 minutes short version. but well done.
i just love the fact that i barely hear the word ‘AI’ ❤
Lots of ‘machine learning’ tho.
The "steam artichokes" timer tells you everything you need to know about Apple's target customers.
VisionOS home menu should be sided, left the middle space blank, because we need to be aware what's in front of us instead of bloated by apps....
The Verge coming in clutch!!!!
8:55 well, thats how widgets were supposed to work from the beginning
We truly live in an age of wonders
Been waiting for this all day!
Omg multiple timers? This is next gen technology
Can somebody please count how many time times they spoke the word "machine learning" during entire event
There was definitely a policy not to say AI.
We truly live in an Age of Wonders
ngl using a vision pro with adhd seems like a nightmare. controlling the interface with eyesight tracking and tapping fingers??? that’s never gonna work for me 😭
2 thunderbolt ports and a headphone jack for versatile connectivity. ya right apple
Finally, my Mac desktop isn't going to look empty.
I knew they were going to do Mac Pro, everyone thought it was done
“Siri in standby works great!”
No Tim, Siri never works great, I’m afraid.
I avoided all potential spoilers. Freaking Vision Pro looks way way way more usable than I imagined. Possibly will buggy in real world use but dadgum it looks impressive for model 1.
2023 we don’t have a calculator for IPad, no call recorder on iPhones, no Face id on Macs, no mega battery life for non ultra watch models :(
Or touch screen laptop
The calculator one is mesmerizing
Huge gimmick or huge success? Will it add real value to people? Time will tell.
Glad they addressed autocorrect issues. Hopefully it’s better.
I remember when I used to be excited to watch Apple keynotes. Late-stage Apple is a font of brilliant ideas and cutting-edge hardware burdened by maximum enshittification.
You’re so edgy.
Damn they really got the riddler running WatchOS
They keep promising longer and longer hours of batteries, 18 hours this time around, and when you get a new one, it dies after 2 hours of use like my last macbook pro of 2021.
Keep iOS & iPadOS 16.6.1 Signed on ipsw! PLEASE Don’t let them unsign it.
*"And you can now keep track of multiple timers"*
What a world we live in
I laughed at the "vision Facetime". Sure, the person sees pictures in the goggles. However, if all users in the call wear those goggles? Then they get to look at a bunch of random people indistinguishable from each other, wearing ski-goggles.
Pretty much the vision pro does a scan of your face and creates a “virtual” version of yourself. Many have missed that. But it depends how effective the tech is, tho.
imagine taking about wallpapers in a presentation . Apple really had nothing to talk about new in iOS 17
The breakthrough usage in real life and professional business is mindboggling. It is a huge convenience, and can be used for example to journalists, writers, economists, publishers, analysts, students, traders, portfolio managers, programmers, graphic designers, meetings (board meetings), disabled, movie geeks, reading, etc.!
What a wonderful new era and time to be alive! I can’t wait to get one!
@4:45:Like Werewolves or vampires?...Gotta say, Apple Keynotes are damn slick. They spend a ton of budget on marketing.
I have severe nystagmus in one eye, which means my brain only uses my one good eye to see. When I look through binoculars for example, I only see a single circle. Curious to see how this works.
I would by the Vision Pro for $349, but not for $3499
You might as well telling them to price it for free lol
