I am born and raised American but I loved the Puerto Rico vs Mexico game. Still annoyed Puerto Rico lost. My coworkers are Puerto Rican too. We talked about the games. But nothing can beat the back and fourth in last nights game lol

@dew02300 Yes it is. The words “World Series” that MLB misuses implies you are competing against other countries when you’re not. The MLB World Series is actually just a national tournament among different US cities. The WBC is a World Series in the most literal level.
This game was like a World Series final. Great crowd and great players.

Don’t normally watch MLB, but this classic WBC, reminds me so much of the FIFA World Cup, when you play for the love of sport but add the ingredient of representing your country, the level of competition is electrifying!
The problem is USA still doesn’t care enough, their line up is insane probably the best ever assembled for any team, but the pitching is still lack luster. Top American pitching talent still rather not play in this tournament and risk injury.

Daniel Bard, who was a top setup pitcher for the Red Sox around 2010,
struggled with the yips for a long time, retired without a cure, and became a mental trainer for the Diamondbacks.
While teaching his experiences to players, he realized that his yips had been cured.
He then made a comeback to the majors, becoming the Rockies' closer and being selected for the USA national team in the WBC.
It's very worrying that he, who has regained his original strength after suffering so much in life, has fallen into a state like the yips again in such a big game.
I don't want him to retire for the same sad reason.
I also question why the manager didn't replace him after facing three batters.
That decision was unfortunate for both Bard and the US.
And I hope Altuve, who was hit by a pitch, is not seriously injured.

This may have been the best baseball game I've ever watched. Hope Altuve and Bard are ok. Bard isn't physically hurt but watching him pitch in this tournament there's something wrong there
I think 2017 set me up for failure because for some reason it’s not hitting me like those epic games in 2017 did. I guess my expectations are just much higher this time

I've never seen so many big leaguers get rattled with so many mistakes. I think this tournament is as important, if not more so, than any playoff games they've played in. It's one thing to represent your club. It's at another level when you are representing your country. The World Baseball Classic will only get bigger each year. At the same time, it will make a lot owners very nervous about their hundred million dollar players getting injured.
I know right! I thought they would play clean and precise. It's the pressure. It's real!

Dolido por la derrota de mi país pero al mismo tiempo feliz por ver como ha crecido el Clásico Mundial. MLB no debe dejar morir este torneo, es lo que el béisbol y el mundo necesita, muchas emociones juntas, es algo hermoso. Deben de cambiar el mes para realizarlo, que no choque con los sprinng training y que puedan jugar todos sus grandes ligas con sus países, creo que noviembre sería la mejor opción

@gio4429 Igual creo que debería de ser en otoño una o dos semanas después de la Serie Mundial, ya que si bien muchos paises tienen ligas de invierno sabemos que lo mas importante es que puedan prestar a los jugadores de la MLB, así al hacerlo en esa fecha podríamos tener aun a mas jugadores y lo mejor con un poco mas de libertad ante el temor de lesión al inicio de la campaña, algo similar pasa con el Hockey y las Olimpiadas de Invierno al ser en las mismas fechas no prestan a jugadores de la NHL y se ha notado en mucho en las ultimas dos ediciones.
@GAZZ RAZZ 2009 exacto, igual los jugadores más importantes de MLB que son fijos en sus selecciones no ven acción en ligas invernales y cuando lo hacen es por poco tiempo así que no creo que tengan problemas con eso los equipos de esas ligas

Grown men playing little league style baseball. This is the way the game was meant to be played. The level of enthusiasm and joy the players show is awesome to see.

The second half of the game was peak stress. I had no idea what was going to happen, and I loved every minute of it. This WBC makes me really wish they did this every year or every other year. There's magic in bringing the world together over baseball.

This might of been THE BEST wbc game of all time. This game had World Series energy and its March. I hope a lot more games are like this in the next wbc. As an Astros fan, I am hoping and praying that Altuve makes a speedy recovery and is able to be on the field by opening day. What’s funny is every player on the lineup for both teams got at least 1 hit this game.

@02markcal Kinda hard to say from USA vs Cuba, the game is in Miami and will be completely electric (as anyone who has been to Miami knows just how many Cubans are there), but Japan probably rolls Mexico.
As for a winner, as an American, gotta stick with the boys!

Diablos ese palo de Trea con las bases llenas fue a buena hora para USA... Venezuela Jugo muy bien, tienen que sentirse orgulloso de su equipo. Nos quedan pocos buenos equipos latinoamericanos yo tengo muchas esperanzas con México se ve muy bien balanciado.
Pero no me explico ese error del catcher venezolano de pedirle a su pitcher ese lanzamiento. Lanzar una slider alta y pegada a un bateador que golpea la bola para su mano fue un suicidio. Y encima el manager venezolano no recurrio a su mejor relevista justo cuando mas hacia falta. Dos errores que le han costado la eliminacion a Venezuela. Siendo justo, creo que el team USA fue mejor en general.

@Rafael Garcia Pero Bracho no lo estaba haciendo mal. Fue un tremendo error del catcher quien es el que señala la zona del lanzamiento. Contra bateadores tan buenos como los del team USA no se deben cometer errores de aficionados o rookies. Bracho me parece muy buen pitcher.

There’s been a lot of critics saying the WBC is a pointless exhibition. If this game or the PR vs DR didn’t make those people happy, then they need to stop watching because this WBC has been amazing. What a run for Venezuela though! And what a damn game!

This game and the PR vs DR game were some fierce, beautiful, and epic baseball games! The PR vs Mex game was fun as well. Great week of Baseball. Hope there is not a 'hangover effect" for the US vs Cuba in the 3/19 Semi- final.

Se quedó cerquita Venezuela de lograr una gran hazaña. Mis respetos hacia los hermanos venezolanos, qué gran equipo tienen, y espero que Altuve se recupere pronto.
Qué grandes bateadores tiene USA que cualquiera puedes ser 3er o 4to bate, están duros de batir.
Hoy contra mi Cuba, nadie nos da de favorito y nadie cree que podamos dar la sorpresa. Creo que eso nos conviene, iremos sin presión sabiendo que sobrepasamos las expectativas de todo el mundo, hay que salir a disfrutar y darlo todo con la conciencia de que se puede.
Mis respetos a Venezuela y USa por uno de los partidos más bonitos de este torneo, aunque ese Grande Slam fue cruel, pero así es el béisbol.

One thing to note also is that games are so vibrant without many of MLB unwritten rules. Lots of bat pimping, wild celebrations, this kind of passion unleashed should be available on MLB also. It would draw a huge number of fans to the Sport, en when MadBum would loathe it 😂😂😂😂
