The Boston Celtics season is over after a loss in game 7 to the Miami Heat, and this offseason could bring big changes and trades. #celtics #nba #celticsheat
@Victor Melendez-Rey nah. There’s no guarantee that Dame can take the Celtics to the finals therefore upgrading the situation. If they had lost in the second round, maybe. You’re also losing age swapping Brown and Dame but not benefiting from the contract because of Dames huge contract.
Brown's main weakness is his handles, that is proven in the finals last season. People argue that he's better than Tatum because he's more consistent, but Tatum has superior playmaking and defense when shots ain't falling, that's why he's the first option.
Once it was clear Tatum was hurt... Jaylen Brown should have taken over. This was his moment. Instead, Derrick White was attacking and looking like the main vocal point on offense. Your're never going to win when you gotta rely on Derrick White to produce offensively. Jaylen Brown looked disinterested, confused & played sloppy like he couldn't be the guy without Tatum there beside him. He embraces The Robin role however when Batman needs a day off Robin is too small to wear the batsuit. Marcus Smart was also a no show and he is lowkey the engine to that Celtics team. Lastly, Spo ran circles around Mazulla. He should have never gotten that extension prior to the playoffs starting.
The lack of attacking the basket is wild. And IMO no matter how talented a team is, you have to have a plan for zone besides move the ball fast and shoot a team out of it.
This guy bailed out the Celtics too many playoff games. If it werent for him Celtics be the bottom of the barrel every year. Comments from fake fans like you are infuriating. Brown is only 26 and already a top 20 / top 10 player. Most stars win their first championships 27/28 like Steph and Lebron. By trading a home grown superstar like Brown away would the most idiotic move Celtics make and they wont do it because they are too smart.
@SkylineZ Exactly & the Cs will be in a rut for years to come if they split the 2 go ahead and do that and watch this franchise crumble they are still a competitive team things just need some tweaking a lot of work to get done
@Garrison A the reason Celtics in playoffs every year is because of the home grown stars. Once the core JT, JB, and Smart gets gutted it be like the OKC after they traded Durant and Westbrook.
It goes to show u it doesn’t matter if you have the star talent if you develop a culture and identity from top to bottom and every player buys in you can achieve success congrats to Jimmy and the Miami heat
@Aris Mendezthey played ecf 3 times in 4 years, miami beat them twice and butler missed go ahead 3 pointer last years game 7, so yes i will take miami heat culture over boston any day of the week, ty next
Celtics had a good season.... VERY good team when they're all firing on all cylanders but it's like once ONE of them goes cold the WHOLE team goes cold... blows my mind.
@FortyNights not so much but Celtics play in synergy it’s similar to a chain reaction when one link is broken the rest falls apart it’s not so much the fact that they are dependant on one another but how they’re not an independent iso team
Yes. Especially when they have a fairly stacked roster (at least 8 deep, and then Galinari returning next year.) That the new CBA will make it nearly impossible to retain, as there is now basically a hard cap (yes, you can go over, but the penalties are severe.)
Crazy how the heat eliminated possibly the two best teams in the league. Both the Bucks and the Celtics have massive decisions to make this offseason regarding how they want to continue to build around their star.
@Adrian Daliva that team was good even when giannis was out. So good, jimmy had to score 56 just to beat em. This season they had a winning record in games played with giannis out, and if i recall correctly giannis was out most of the season
Yea I kinda feel like it's just time to see something in Boston. I don't think yet another coach is the answer, I don't see how constant coaching turnover could be at all helpful. They are just such a strange team, they ride such a fine line of success. All they need, in my opinion, is consistency. They need to be more than a team that wins if they make a bunch of 3s and lose if they miss those 3s. When things get tough and complicated they are lost. Most great championship teams thrive when the situation gets tough. Maybe that's just because they are young and immature still, I'm not in the locker room to know, but there's definite room for improvement.
Unless there's a coach that can unlock their hidden potentials😂. It's a shame that even some Red Sox players were at the stands not to mention some Celtics great were in the TD garden
@Roberto if your coach blames that they cant knock down thier 3s that's why they lose, I'll say somethings wrong with he's system.. Unless they're missing wide open 3s
If Brown signs for the supermax Portland would have to trade half of there team to make it work. I don't believe Brown is going anywhere. Especially not for a number 3 pick while the Celtics are relatively young and competing for a chip.
Although they both need to improve still, I think not having both a good pg and a good coach is our biggest problems. Mazulla cannot stay after this, he is not built for this type of coaching and the postseason showed it. He was in over his head and he clearly has little voice with the players with our inconsistencies being a clear indication he lost us a while ago.
@lazyhusband Not to this degree. We were never this inconsistent. He isn't preparing these guys properly which is why the team has been so up and down the last half of the season. Say what you want about the players, if the coach isn't ready then your not gonna be. He was gifted this team and the end result is losing to a team we probably could've beaten in 6 if we weren't bipolar this whole postseason.
Honestly, this was a great run. This was a team falling apart in January last year and made the finals. Lost their coach due to a bizarre off the court issue. They made the conference finals this year. Switch the team name to about 80% of the league, and this is a historic run (I know, it doesn't really work that way)
Wasn’t that last season when the team fell apart then post NYK loss Udoka changed it up? I thought this year u guys were cruising and had a slight blip, definitely wouldnt say falling apart though at any periods during the reg ssn
this wasn't a great run lol. Celtics were favored in literally every single game in these playoffs and for good reason. They have one of the best rosters in the whole league. 2 all nba players, 2 all nba defensive players, 6th man of the year, and a good bench. They made the finals last season and that set a new bar for them. Ecf doesn't cut it anymore for this roster. Team name is irrelevant
@Redman that was the season where they weren't top 5 in the east in a rough start and people thought they were done but they made the finals last year. The heat had a similar path
If Boston are happy to take a deal based mostly on picks I'd love to see Jalen Brown and Mikal Bridges as a duo in Brooklyn. Both two way guys. Both really hard working players on and off the court. Plus Bridges really stepped out of his teammate's shadows in Brooklyn in a big way which is something I can see Brown doing too.
Not exactly. The Celtics were soft this postseason and they failed to close teams out or maintain 4th quarter leads. All these stats about Tatum are meaningless. The only legitimate comparison to Larry Bird is minutes played - THAT's IT!
If they ship him to Portland, I would assume the plan would be to retain Simmons and flip the 3 and other assets for a second star alongside Tatum, preferably one with a smaller contract ($25m - $35m). That way the C’s could still move other players or bring in a fourth all star caliber player
As a celtics fan, I dont see how we gonna win anytime soon unless we stop playing like we dont want it. Thats why miami is even in that position right now because they had the heart to win while boston didnt care. All those iso plays jaylen brown draws up and chucking up 3's by the rest of the team is even worse.
Honestly they should keep building with this team. This Boston team eerie reminds me of the 80’s Detroit pistons team who were scraping year after year to get over the hump. I feel when they finally do figure it out they’re going to be hard to beat again
I've been wanting the Jays to win a championship together, but I just don't see it anymore. This was their last chance, and they DECIDED not to take it. Jayson is the obvious guy to build around, but they need a KAT type player to pair him up with, and they need a more consistent way of winning. They cant live and die by the three anymore. If that means get rid of Jaylen, so be it. I've lost all hope.
Agreed Celts didn't play well, but that first play really doomed em. Tatum hurt us more than he helped the rest of the game bc he couldn't even box his man out n was switching on anything and everything. Wish we got the see what woulda really happened
Tatum is the master of grimacing and acting like he's in pain in pressure situations. If you're hurt sit your ass down. But no he'll just stay in and grimace after every play
@jaahnn wtf do you want him to do??? This is a GAME 7 with an NBA Finals on the line. You don’t just sit out. What I would’ve done is get some cortisone and wrap that ankle up
I hope they trade Jalen Brown. I am betting that Houston and Portland are going to be in a bidding war for him. But I could see Sacramento making a move for him as well and Utah as well. I don't think that Boston trades Tatum. But Brown...I think he wants out and I think it is a good idea to move him. Utah has Danny Ainge. Portland has Dame. Houston has Udoka. Sacramento, a roster on the rise and really good coaching. So it depends on who could provide great value for the Celtics. I like the Simmons+ 3rd pick + an asset or two because it helps the C's keep depth, add more youth and make it a little easier to keep Brogdan as well. Now, do they keep Smart? I think they do, if they can't improve that position. But I would want the Celtics to avoid moving Robert Williams or Tatum. Yes, Williams struggles with injury issues. But his defense and rebounding and rim protection are too important for the C's to let him go unless we are talking about a major change. Or... maybe...the answer is go full rebuild, get as many assets as possible and trade Tatum, Brown, Smart and Williams all this off season and be bad for a couple of years and see if they can draft well and get back to the playoffs in 3-4 years. I know Dallas is going to be desperate for front court help. I know Houston will want a leader. I know Detroit is desperate to get better. I am sure the Clippers want to make a splash. The Kings want to compete for a title. Utah probably would love to get some of that Celtics talent, I know Danny Ainge drafted Smart, Tatum and Brown. So obvious ties. The Bulls are hoping to make some moves...I could see them wanting to figure out how to get Marcus Smart, especially if Lonzo Ball is done. I don't know what direction the Celtics will go. But, I can see them either trying to shake up the roster hoping to compete for a title next season or going full rebuild in order to reset the window. Especially with Houston and Detroit both unhappy with their draft position, with Portland knowing that Dame wants to win now or be traded. The Celtics could be sitting in a great situation if they go rebuild on draft night. So, Pistons fans... what would you offer for Tatum? Rockets fans...what would you offer for Brown? Same with Portland fans? I would be curious on this conversation. Bulls fans... what about Smart? Could you imagine a Smart, Lavine backcourt? Dallas fans...what about Robert Williams? I am just curious on what you would be going for if you were in the front office for one of these teams. Because that is this time of year. The speculation of how it could all play out.
@Yash Mathur I am not for or against it, but I know the roster right now is not good enough to get it done. It isn't just a coaching thing. It was like they gave up. Like they didn't want to win. I am not even sure why. I was honestly surprised that the Celtics scores even as much as they did. That game could have ended with the Celtics under 60 points and I would not have been surprised. Like...seriously? It was like they expected the Heat to roll over and die and when the Heat didn't, they didn't know what to do. It makes me wish Larry Bird was still playing. He would have chewed their asses out for playing like that.
I cannot see Utah doing a sign and trade for Brown. Unless they are giving up maybe one first round, which I wouldn't, but a couple seconds maybe. I just don't see them taking on a Max contract for Brown's skillset.
@You got Rickrolled E They nearly were defeated in 4. Yes, they came back and won 3 straight. But then played like a g league team tonight. Not like a team supposed to be in the Finals. Same issue with the Bucks. They played like crap when they were supposed to be competing for a Finals appearance. So yeah...I am feeling down right now about this team. Something is very wrong when they played this badly. I don't know if it is a coaching issue or a players issue or combination of both. But change is coming in Boston. How much? I don't know. But open to anything right now.
I just think the supporting cast isn't that good. Particularly Smart, Horford, and Rob Willaims. I think they got to really focus on those positions. But if they trade Brown, they will want a similar age and level player in return, like a SGA or Luka, and not Dame given his age. Ultimately, they just need a change and something new. But I also wouldn't be shocked if they made minor changes and went and got Monty for the head coach and tried again. Seems like anyone not named Jayson Tatum could be gone next season, including the coaching staff.
The Celtics are 1-2 against the Heat. They didn’t have Herro this year either, and we barely won last year. We need a shake up because they clearly have our number.
The Celtics core reminds me of the Pistons in the 2000's. 6 conference finals in a row, 1 championship. They weren't always the best team, and they came close a lot. Once the Pistons started making changes, they didn't get better really, they just stayed good for a while. I wish the Pistons kept their core of Larry Brown, Big Ben Wallace, Sheed, Tayshaun, RIP, and Billups together that whole time. they tweaked too much.
Ben Wallace leaving and larry brown betting on other rival teams cost them their chances. They also didn't have a superstar and picking darko in 2003. The core was together but their were just better teams. Sheed wasn't the same and Billups got traded for Iverson.
Celtic fans just gotta realize that they hit a peak!!! You need a point guard. You’re 1-4 in the ECF. If anything it sucks that they had to see a 7th game cause then Tatum wouldn’t have gotten injured if Derrick white wasn’t blessed with that offensive rebound
I think the only chance that the Celtics have to truly make a win now move would be to probably just get Dame, but would Portland trade him for Brown and a few other assets?
Dame for Brown, Robert Williams and some picks are good solution for both teams. Dame is 32, never gets younger and the money what is placed under him has no results so far. And his hyper expensive contract is a string around the neck of Portland's young team. Both, Dame and Brown, need some shake. If Portland drafts Henderson, then they have a future point guard already. Boston needs to win now (expectations are high) so it's somehow good solution for them too.
Once tatum went down, they never really had a chance. It was always him that bailed them out in these elimination games. Brown instead of taking over, played so bad he may as well have played for the heat. It's gonna be interesting what Brad decides to do with him. imo, he's not worth the supermax at all, but I doubt they're gonna be better after trading him
Idk, we can get a lot for him, i'm down to see a "Tatum only" lead offense, he's a great playmaker and scorer so it'll be interesting. Thats if it happens
@João Henrique Dalpiaz after his play tonight, no GM is going to want to give up much for him. He can't dribble, takes bad shots, disappears in the clutch and is a turnover machine with no heart.
Trade him while he has value… this would be the year to do it… he’s one of those players that I feel will have an early career collapse . He’s a sg/sf that cant dribble with the main part of his hand being mid range-post scoring.
Trade him away, get done more depth, move Brogdan to starter. Move on from horford (I know he played solid defense in rd1-2) he ha no trade value with his age. Keep smart, rob, white, Brogdan, Galli(even tho he didn’t play I think next season he will be a good solid depth player maybe 6 man), and Tatum. Trade away smart and grant, grant is a solid piece for defense and maybe 10 a game, Brown has a all nba 2 team that will never be worth a supermax so any team would love that steal because he’s never gonna be a HARSH cap hit. I’m just saying, you have some bench to work with, trade some ninjas a way
This team only plays well when (two) stars play well. they don't have any1 else to take over games - guys like Caleb Martin, Gabe Vincent, and such. With Heat, it seems they always find guys like this, which points to how the team operates and builds the confidence off ALL of their players. while for Celtics - Brogdon's form fell off the cliff in this series, Horford aged 5 years in 5 days, ect.
Pretty sure if Brown resigns with the Celtics he's going to want a no-trade clause no matter what. If being dangled around as a trade piece is why Jaylen's unhappy, he'll want assurance that that's not happening.
I could see jaylen demanding it but idk if the Celtics would do it. They haven’t said it but you can tell that Tatum is their guy. Jaylen has been in trade rumors for the last 2-3 seasons for a reason. Jaylen is my favorite Celtic but what he showed us last night is that he don’t f with Boston
If that’s true then he can’t handle being on a team like Boston. Boston is talked about constantly. If he doesn’t want rumors he should go to a irrelevant team like Portland or Detroit
@Cameron Clark I could see him ending up in Portland but I’m not sure how much we would really get in return. Especially after Jaylen tanked his value from the atrocity of a series he played
The Kyrie situation not working out for the Celtics really screwed them up. They need a true playmaking guard. Tatum and Brown have to much ball handling responsibilities and aren’t élite playmakers which makes their offense stagnant at times.
@Frank Murhonyi well what do you mean by that. First off Jimmy has edge on Murray. I’ll give them that. Who’s stopping Jokic? Bam this entire series has not played well and for a team as offensively coordinated as Denver, it’s gonna be a difficult series for the Heat. Aaron Gordon has played really well as a defender this entire post season so he’s probably gonna go for Caleb Martin who has been phenomenal for the Heat. But with that said nuggets look way too dominant at least so far. Well we will see but that’s my take
as a Celtics fan, I’m done watching this core find different ways to fall short of winning a title every single year. I’m sick of hearing the “they’re still young” argument; been hearing it since 2018 and it holds less weight every year because these guys have as much experience in big games as you could ask for and still can’t get it done. it’s officially time to make some big changes
@GTFOH they still lost and came up short. They should have WON a finals by now. Yknow winning the finals is the goal right, not just playing in the finals. Come on man lmao
Not going to happen. He likes his cushy office and doesn’t want to be on the sidelines. He could’ve stepped in to the role this year but instead handed the job to an untested 34 year old, that should tell you everything.
If ime udoka was still the coach this team would have swept Miami. He was the one who instilled a tough defensive identity to this team that led them to the finals last yr. On top of that this roster is better than last yr
not sure how they could be. They were less than a .500 team at home in the playoffs, and lost home games last year too. That's not a formula for winning a title
Upgrade the Coaching Staff, whether it be finding a new Head Coach, or boosting the coaching staff. Other NBA teams WISH they could draft Brown and Tatum at such a young age.
People reading too much on this brown tatum dilemma. But when they win, nobody bats an eye about it. They just ran into a miami team that knew their weaknesses and attacked it. Tatum had an injury at the worst possible time as well. Just not their year
@DIREK RAMSEY CHIKBOY they’re too young to have reached their peak yet. Most players hit their prime at the youngest 27. Jimmy is 33 and at his peak now.
this is what i dont get about todays nba. why break up a team that is contending for a chip every year. they have the pieces … winning a championship is hard. everything has to work out. just keep the team together and it should happen
The Celtics firing Ime Udoka over nothing really, REALLY hurt them. I hope that guy that demanded him to get fired because his wife cheated on him gets cold stares all off season
The window for the Celtics is far from closed. They still have a great, deep roster and Tatum and Brown are still relatively young. Give Mazulla one more year to get his coaching legs under him, I think they still come in as favorites to win the title next year.
@Sean Davidson if they pay both that’s half a billion dollars between just 2 players. Say they’re both for 5 years that 120 mill a year for them 2 alone salary cap is 134 mil how will their team be good when they won’t be able to pay anyone
Spo just coached circles around Joe. No matter how talented a team is, a coach must have a plan for zone besides move the ball fast and shoot the defense out of it. Sometimes shots just don’t fall.
@Van Hattfield Spo just beat a Celtics team that was way more talented than this Heat team. Heat had a superstar, an all star, a 20 ppg score who was hurt, old stars (love Lowry), and a glut of shooters. Celts have 2 all nba guys, the SMOTY, 2 good-elite bigs, a DPOY, and more depth probably.
Best thing would be to tell JB to prove himself not just in the regular season but in the playoffs too before resigning him. I would let this final year of his contract run out and if he proves himself in the playoffs and the Celtics win a chip next year then you keep him for the future, and if he plays bad in the playoffs once again then you look for a sign and trade. Besides there will be better players available next year as opposed to this off-season
Another thing is this off-season for the Celtics we needa sign some “dawgs” I would love to see Jae crowder back in Boston, maybe Hayward gets bought out by the hornets and is willing to come back to Boston, maybe a Mike Conley or TJ McConnell could help with play making, the Celtics don’t need drastic changes they just need the right changes
I am SO happy the Celtics lost. The way they would play down to their competition, and lose games they should win, just made me despise them. Everyone, including me, thought they were one of the best teams in the NBA, and yet time after time they showed us that they didn't take it that seriously. They can blow out anyone, they have the talent to win a Championship, but they choose not to. I don't know whether to blame the coaching or the players. Mazzulla is a first year coach, so he is a scapegoat, but Tatum and Brown have never really learned to synergize. And if you have a star wing that can't handle the ball, that is pretty bad. I also think this generation of star players are pretty soft, in that if things don't go well, they start slinging the blame. Blame social media and the MSM.
Naw. Mazulla is in over his head and got here based on talent, not coaching. He needs to go first and for the love of God, get a fucking PG. The Marcus smart experiment is officially over. Want him to stay but as our PG going forward? Nah I'm good.
This is what’s wrong with NBA fans recency bias is crazy for one second Jimmy Butler is Michael Jordan son, and Jayson Tatum is a fraud superstar. The next second Jimmy Butler is overrated needs to be held accountable, and Jayson Tatum is actually a superstar and then the next second it’s back to the status quo. You can’t let one game one series a deciding factor on a player look at the whole body of work
Very disappointing the last 2 Finals games. And yes, I do blame the coach. They kept standing around the perimeter with looking for shot opportunities instead of getting in the paint and making shot opportunities. When it was obvious at the end of game 6 and first half of game 7 that the outside shots weren’t falling, that was the time to ditch that strategy and get more aggressive. Williamson had a good series but I feel they didn’t utilize him to his full potential. He should’ve been in the offensive paint way more than he was. Coach drew up bad plays based on a failed strategy. Celtics only hung around because of the raw talent of their players.
Guys don't be sad about the Celtics they extended the game so they can make the Nuggets prepared for the Heat! That's how kind they are to the true MVP 😤
Im already skeptical of giving out supermax contracts even if the player is an mvp level guy because of how much cap space 1 person eats up but 2 would be a no-go for me unless you want 0 depth
They need a guy a pass first point guard who can still shoot and play defense. Or at least just one other guy who can run an offense and get your 2 guys easy buckets They also need to trick someone into taking on that Marcus smart contract for assets, he fell off hard this year
It’s crazy to think that losing in a game 7 of the conference finals requires some sort of drastic overhaul! They made it to fkn conference finals they just didn’t play well doesnt mean tbey suck now lol I would look at teams like the bulls, wizards, timberwolves teams like are the ones that need major changes not a team that nearly made the finals ffs
@Cold Hoops that’s my point those teams are the teams that need major shake up not teams making the game 7 of a conference final! Wizards havnt sniffed a conference finals
Just made me too sad after that game 7 loss. Going down 3-0 is ridiculously hard to come back from, but that was rough to watch. good luck to the Heat, but I hope they get swept by Denver lol.
My guy couldn’t wait to drop this video the game still was playing as he made this 😂 pure savage he not wrong though it’s a down hill ride for the Celtics
I think it’s pretty simple. If you extend Brown and then a year later extend Tatum. That’s your team. With the CBA in place that will be your team for several years. Is that enough?
I wouldn’t trade Brown or Tatum. I would gauge the trade market for Rob Williams, Smart and Brogdon. All three will have good trade value. Williams is on a good contract and some teams could overvalue him. Smart has been a good player for years for them but I could see his present value being more than his future production . Brogdon is another guy I see that could be overvalued by some in the NBA.
All those picks from Brooklyn since 2013, and how bright that future was supposed to be. Not too sure I'd have much more patience as a Celtics fan. 7 years now of being ECF finalists. 1 final appearance to show
Im starting to think letting go of Ime Udoka was a mistake. Joe Mazzulla is too inexperienced and wasnt making the right adjustments and failed to rally his team. They had so many chances to come back but you could just tell they had a bad mindset the entire game.
I say give Blake Griffin a contract. Trade Brown to Houston or Portland, get Scoot Henderson or Brandon Miller. Then maybe move Tatum. Either way they need to get assets if they're going to move Tatum and Brown or one of the two. Robert Williams also I would move too maybe as he was the 27th pick and this team did a great job developing him and they can get value for him too.
Jayson is barely 25 already been to 3 conference finals and a NBA finals that’s crazy. I think the coaching really messed up the Celtics. Celtics looked so messy, lost and sloppy.
Can you imagine after trading brown, Tatum left for lakers in 2025, that's the ultimate mamba mentality and gonna lit the street of massachusets with the number 0
Jayson Tatum cannot lead his team to the Finals. Without Tatum Brown appears to lose his compass. Game 7 was Boston's to lose & they did in emphatic fashion. What a pity.
There’s something going on in that locker room and I think it’s a conflict between Tatum and brown. If the C’s could get Simons, Grant, and a pick I would do it….
To me they need a better coach. They have championship talent but lack that mentality. Usually all the talks about dogs, mambas, beasts and all sorts of animal metaphores are just fan talks...but this time that's the issue for me and a more experienced coach could give 'em that edge.
I think a Hawks-Celtics trade should work. Dejounte, and collins for Brown and Grant could work tbh. Or just Brown. Celtics get an elite perimeter defender and a very good playmaker, get a good versatile wing and Hawks get rid of Collins and get a good guard-wing in brown to put beside Trae.
The stupid thing about this video is that you're probably 100% correct that the Boston front office will contemplate moving Brown (maybe even Tatum). Losing in 7 in a conference finals is not a disappointment, even if your superstars kinda evaporated in a couple games. This is practically the definition of, "Make some tweaks and try again." Maybe Horford's time has finally passed. Maybe Marcus Smart needs to go. Maybe you can upgrade your shooters some. Maybe Derrick White needs to just admit it and go bald. I don't know the specifics of what tweaks could be reasonably made, but even quasi-blowing it up when you were one game away from the finals is insane. Sincerely, Somebody who was praying the Heat would win because the Celtics going to the finals would have been boring
Three different coaches have taken this same Celtics core as far as the ECF (Brad Stevens did it twice), and each time, they've come up short. This is a scenario where you should've already considered who who's leading your team on the court. But is Jaylen Brown really the one you need to look at? When are people gonna stop giving Tatum a pass? Every time the Celtics come up short in the postseason , Tatum is the one guy who NEVER shows up when his team needs him.
Did you know Tatum was averaging 30-8-6 in his last 10 elimination games prior to last night's game? He had one stinker in game 6 of the Finals last year and suddenly he had been deemed a choker. Now after carrying the Celtics offense for the whole series, he has a subpar performance because he got injured LITERALLY ON THE FIRST PLAY OF THE GAME and now he's the reason they lost. Did you even watch the series? Bro's offensive creation was the only reason the Celtics didn't lose every game by 20. As soon as he went down, the offense was in shambles. But yeah, of course it's his fault. You don't have a clue
@AZ 13 Stats all inflated by the wins, particularly the ones against Philly. But anytime the Celtics go up against a team that can actually beat them, Tatum is the one who usually disappears at the most critical times.
Bro didn’t even wait for the game to end😭
Nah... It was over😂
My thoughts exactly lmaoooo . But the score didn’t indicate how much of a ass whooping this game was 😂
Jaylen brown for dame Lillard fair trade yes or no?
He might have recorded this earlier. And when he saw the huge gap of points between the Heats and the Celtics. He might have uploaded it then.
Brown didn’t even hide the fact he was selling in game seven. 8/23 and 8 turnovers is crazy.
I mean Tatum didn't play great either
@Jerome Marshall tatum played well the whole series and game 7 he rolled his ankle 14 seconds in
Brown's main weakness is his handles, that is proven in the finals last season. People argue that he's better than Tatum because he's more consistent, but Tatum has superior playmaking and defense when shots ain't falling, that's why he's the first option.
@YH which was avoidable. He should have pulled up for an open 15 footer instead of trying to crash into the paint. They were dead from that point on.
Yeah, they should have made him coach for his job.
It's coaching bro!!! Why are they shooting too many three instead of post up and attacking the basket? Smh
The lack of attacking the basket is wild. And IMO no matter how talented a team is, you have to have a plan for zone besides move the ball fast and shoot a team out of it.
@Pin barbecue Coaching for sure makes a difference however players need to show up.
Honestly gonna be great seeing Jaylen Brown playing for ANY other franchise tbh
This guy bailed out the Celtics too many playoff games. If it werent for him Celtics be the bottom of the barrel every year. Comments from fake fans like you are infuriating. Brown is only 26 and already a top 20 / top 10 player. Most stars win their first championships 27/28 like Steph and Lebron. By trading a home grown superstar like Brown away would the most idiotic move Celtics make and they wont do it because they are too smart.
Why’s that?
@SkylineZ Exactly & the Cs will be in a rut for years to come if they split the 2 go ahead and do that and watch this franchise crumble they are still a competitive team things just need some tweaking a lot of work to get done
@Garrison A the reason Celtics in playoffs every year is because of the home grown stars. Once the core JT, JB, and Smart gets gutted it be like the OKC after they traded Durant and Westbrook.
He’ll ball out until it’s playoff time. Trade him to a trash ass team and he won’t have to worry about the bright lights anymore
It goes to show u it doesn’t matter if you have the star talent if you develop a culture and identity from top to bottom and every player buys in you can achieve success congrats to Jimmy and the Miami heat
congrats to pat riley martin vincent robinson strus and maybe jimmy.
Did you say that last year when Boston beat Miami? Or just this time ?
@Aris Mendez every time
@Aris Mendezthey played ecf 3 times in 4 years, miami beat them twice and butler missed go ahead 3 pointer last years game 7, so yes i will take miami heat culture over boston any day of the week, ty next
@BlueGenMB but yet zero championships that’s not taking away from that but more than likely Denver gets it done
Celtics had a good season.... VERY good team when they're all firing on all cylanders but it's like once ONE of them goes cold the WHOLE team goes cold... blows my mind.
Weird weird team
Are they too over dependent on one player?
@FortyNights not so much but Celtics play in synergy it’s similar to a chain reaction when one link is broken the rest falls apart it’s not so much the fact that they are dependant on one another but how they’re not an independent iso team
suns here send us anybody you guys dont want
This year was really their best chance. Failed to beat the 8th seed that was missing two main players due to injury.
The Heat just proved both teams were grossly overrated
@stealthiscool TO BE COMPLETELY FAIR, Giannis did miss the first 2-3 games.
@Adrian Daliva that team was good even when giannis was out. So good, jimmy had to score 56 just to beat em. This season they had a winning record in games played with giannis out, and if i recall correctly giannis was out most of the season
@jemthehootowl he was out for like 20 games that’s not most of the season
If Milwaukee had Giannis the whole series, they would’ve beat the Heat in 5 games.
They need a real coach😅
He's gone bro. He wants out. He's going to Portland
@maliktp13The Celtics made the same mistakes last year in the Finals. Udoka was the coach. Jaylen Brown sucks.
Man posted this before the game was even over 😭😭💀
because Miami dominated them the whole game. might as well get out ahead of things
Lol, he made this video after game 3… almost had to “eat it”
It's efficient, for sure. It also means he edited the video and had it ready before the game.
It's been over since the 2nd quarter
Super fast ass 🥷🏿
Honestly, this was a great run. This was a team falling apart in January last year and made the finals. Lost their coach due to a bizarre off the court issue. They made the conference finals this year. Switch the team name to about 80% of the league, and this is a historic run (I know, it doesn't really work that way)
That's why the play that way because Celtics fans are too soft
@Steve-wv5bd not a Celtics fan at all. Just credit where credit is due. It's a failure for sure, I just think there were positive things as well
Wasn’t that last season when the team fell apart then post NYK loss Udoka changed it up?
Brown ain’t going to Brooklyn with Joe Tsai there
2 wings doesn’t work (aka Boston, clippers)
@Ayrton Pazsoldan yes it does , 90s bulls , 10sHeat and 19 Raptors
@newkingrode34 all those teams you mentioned knew who the number one guy was. That’s the difference
@Sean Celtics know it too it's clearly Tatum
Completely hit the nail on the head. We need more reasonable people like you in Celtics Nation
😅
That Detroit team played DEFENSE and knew how to REBOUND.
Getting back to the Finals is hard. Even the Bucks found it the hard way.
Bucks got to the finals on a pretty soft path then reverted back to norm
Agreed Celts didn't play well, but that first play really doomed em. Tatum hurt us more than he helped the rest of the game bc he couldn't even box his man out n was switching on anything and everything. Wish we got the see what woulda really happened
Tatum is the master of grimacing and acting like he's in pain in pressure situations. If you're hurt sit your ass down. But no he'll just stay in and grimace after every play
@jaahnn wtf do you want him to do??? This is a GAME 7 with an NBA Finals on the line. You don’t just sit out. What I would’ve done is get some cortisone and wrap that ankle up
@The_Boss he did the same thing last yr in the finals ...he loves being "but I was hurt" guy
@knockoutartiststoppage1387 but he was hurt....
Im really against going against a whole rebuild, but im not opposed to trading everyone thats not tatum, rob, brogden, or white
You act like the Celtics were defeated in the first round by the 8th seed in 5 games as the first seed. Oh wait, that was the Bucks
BYE ✌🏾
But I respect you for being the one c fan that ain’t in hiding cause your fan base all talk based off old championship no one alive seen 😂
I think the only chance that the Celtics have to truly make a win now move would be to probably just get Dame, but would Portland trade him for Brown and a few other assets?
dame is old and overrated.
Dame = slightly upgraded version of Kemba
Curious what the Brown better than Tatum Casuals got to say
Yea like Tatum I think is overrated but at least when he does show up he plays great brown was just mostly ass
@Pablo Herasme Tatum is just more clutch and has more talent than Brown
@João Henrique Dalpiaz after his play tonight, no GM is going to want to give up much for him. He can't dribble, takes bad shots, disappears in the clutch and is a turnover machine with no heart.
I truly believe Brown is gone. They have a lot of decisions to make this offseason
Bruh no he’s not, he doesn’t want to nor the GM wants to cut the BS
Maybe not gone but he not getting a super max
I’m just saying, you have some bench to work with, trade some ninjas a way
@Pablo Herasme damn the Celtics delusion is already in high gear I see 😂
This team only plays well when (two) stars play well. they don't have any1 else to take over games - guys like Caleb Martin, Gabe Vincent, and such. With Heat, it seems they always find guys like this, which points to how the team operates and builds the confidence off ALL of their players. while for Celtics - Brogdon's form fell off the cliff in this series, Horford aged 5 years in 5 days, ect.
FYI: This video was already prepared after Game 3.
More like after Quarter 3😂
@Justin Graham He said it on the last Boston vod
I agree . Who want to be dangled around like a puppet he won know he is wanted.
The Kyrie situation not working out for the Celtics really screwed them up. They need a true playmaking guard. Tatum and Brown have to much ball handling responsibilities and aren’t élite playmakers which makes their offense stagnant at times.
Bad coach
I told people after Game 4... Boston is uber-talented, but they don't have that stuff of champions deep down... Miami does. And so here we are.
Nuggets in 5
@Lomesh Sharma 4*
@Lomesh Sharmaagree
@Lomesh Sharma not happening don’t be a casual
Your team was in the Finals last year. Poor you. Smh.
@GTFOH they still lost and came up short. They should have WON a finals by now. Yknow winning the finals is the goal right, not just playing in the finals. Come on man lmao
they’re still young bro xd
They NEED to trade jaylen brown
5:20 In some ways, this can be said for Gersson Rosas and the Timberwolves 😢
Lmao with a minute 50 left is crazy 😭
they down by 20 it was already over fam
it's so much worse than that because it takes min 5 min to upload. He was prob uploading this video right at the beginning of the 4th quarter.
He had this video recorded already back when the heat were up 3-0. he talked about it in his last video
With the coach change. And the reason I'm impressed they got as far as they did most teams wouldn't do too well after that...
Time now Brad Stevens back coaching in Boston next season 🔥💪🔥
Not going to happen. He likes his cushy office and doesn’t want to be on the sidelines. He could’ve stepped in to the role this year but instead handed the job to an untested 34 year old, that should tell you everything.
Jaylen Brown better start learning Chinese cuz he gonna be playing with Dwight Howard after that performance
If Miami wins the finals, I would keep the same team and run it back
If ime udoka was still the coach this team would have swept Miami. He was the one who instilled a tough defensive identity to this team that led them to the finals last yr. On top of that this roster is better than last yr
Crazy , Celtic we’re so confident coming back home
not sure how they could be.
Tatum got hurt but let's not forget that the heat were the 8th seed and boston was the 2 seed. That cannot be forgotten about
People reading too much on this brown tatum dilemma. But when they win, nobody bats an eye about it. They just ran into a miami team that knew their weaknesses and attacked it. Tatum had an injury at the worst possible time as well. Just not their year
The Celtics should absolutely be embarrassed with the way they played tonight
Once they fell behind they panicked and started tossing 3's. With no confidence and no chance. Need an inside game.
They live by 3s. They died by 3s. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown should part ways. They reached their peak
@DIREK RAMSEY CHIKBOY they’re too young to have reached their peak yet. Most players hit their prime at the youngest 27. Jimmy is 33 and at his peak now.
@Sachem of Boston i wouldn't pay brown the max just to see if he can become a little better. boston needed him to step up tonight and he disappeared.
@scott o'donnell The three is their only game.
Brown should go to Philly, so he and embiid can choke games together 🙏
this is what i dont get about todays nba. why break up a team that is contending for a chip every year. they have the pieces … winning a championship is hard. everything has to work out. just keep the team together and it should happen
What are gonna do when brown and Tatum are both making over 300 mill?
@Mike Blaze they’ll be happy that their team is really good, and the new CBA kicking in will make it not seem that bad in a few years
@Sean Davidson if they pay both that’s half a billion dollars between just 2 players. Say they’re both for 5 years that 120 mill a year for them 2 alone salary cap is 134 mil how will their team be good when they won’t be able to pay anyone
@Sean Davidson i guess depend how they break up the pay per year but thats ballparkish
@Sean Davidson also I’m not an expert so if you know something I don’t break it down for me please
Spo just coached circles around Joe. No matter how talented a team is, a coach must have a plan for zone besides move the ball fast and shoot the defense out of it. Sometimes shots just don’t fall.
If that was truer it would not have gone to 7 games.
@Van Hattfield the heat didn't have two of there stars, while Boston had the whole 9..yea Boston got out coached 😐
The Celtics will always, never be the same.
You can’t let one game one series a deciding factor on a player look at the whole body of work
Jaylen Brown is the fraud bro. This guy needs to be shipped out.
Well said..
As soon as J.Brown took off that face shield...he's powers disintegrated!
I don't think that Marcus smart would leave Boston he seems too commited and I don't think a trade would give the best value.
Or at least just one other guy who can run an offense and get your 2 guys easy buckets
They also need to trick someone into taking on that Marcus smart contract for assets, he fell off hard this year
It’s crazy to think that losing in a game 7 of the conference finals requires some sort of drastic overhaul! They made it to fkn conference finals they just didn’t play well doesnt mean tbey suck now lol I would look at teams like the bulls, wizards, timberwolves teams like are the ones that need major changes not a team that nearly made the finals ffs
Washington catching strays for no reason even though they didn't make the play-in😂
@Cold Hoops that’s my point those teams are the teams that need major shake up not teams making the game 7 of a conference final! Wizards havnt sniffed a conference finals
Brown doesn't know it yet, but he needs Tatum! Jaylen is a #2 guy that's it!
8/23 and 8 turnovers!! I would trade him to the Rockets for the 4th pick
I'd like to see brown land on a young up and coming team like Orlando him paired up with Paolo and Franz would be crazy
1 final appearance to show
They’re not going to blow it up. They’re young, Tatum loves JB. 1 game away from the finals for the last 3 years in a row can’t be mad about that
Im starting to think letting go of Ime Udoka was a mistake. Joe Mazzulla is too inexperienced and wasnt making the right adjustments and failed to rally his team. They had so many chances to come back but you could just tell they had a bad mindset the entire game.
couldn't keep him.
They win the chip this year if Udoka was still there.
@Anthony Planzo on everything
Jaylen Brown is gonna look so good in a Rockets jersey
I say give Blake Griffin a contract. Trade Brown to Houston or Portland, get Scoot Henderson or Brandon Miller. Then maybe move Tatum. Either way they need to get assets if they're going to move Tatum and Brown or one of the two. Robert Williams also I would move too maybe as he was the 27th pick and this team did a great job developing him and they can get value for him too.
I think he mentioned that he was planning to drop this video before the game-winner in Game 6
Not even final yet. You're a sick man. I respect it.
I posted a short about it a few minutes ago too LOL, couldn't wait.
Tucker had this thing ready and waiting 😂😂😂
Games not even over man… 😭😭😭😭
Tatum and Brown are 25 and 26. They are just coming into their prime. They need a great deadeye shooter.
You will trade Jalen Brown to the hawks for Deandre Hunter and picks. Trust me.
Facts.
Something isn't right. You dont get outworked consistently if you have a connected locker room.
After all the trade rumors, I don't expect JB to stay.
Jayson is barely 25 already been to 3 conference finals and a NBA finals that’s crazy. I think the coaching really messed up the Celtics. Celtics looked so messy, lost and sloppy.
Bro was so confident the heat were Gon a win he recorded this before the game even started
Shit I bet the video was recorded after game 3🤣
Fax
Can you imagine after trading brown, Tatum left for lakers in 2025, that's the ultimate mamba mentality and gonna lit the street of massachusets with the number 0
Jayson Tatum cannot lead his team to the Finals. Without Tatum Brown appears to lose his compass. Game 7 was Boston's to lose & they did in emphatic fashion. What a pity.
They came back just to get their backs blown tf out
Should’ve just played Muscala more. Probably trading Brown to Minnesota for KAT would be a much better situation for both teams and players.
Jaylen Brown needed to work on his handle after last year. Seems like it got worse
Jaylen to Houston 🚀
Brown for AD makes sense for both the Celtics and Lakers
There’s something going on in that locker room and I think it’s a conflict between Tatum and brown. If the C’s could get Simons, Grant, and a pick I would do it….
Why would they want to be the same? They lost. They NEED to be different so that they can get over the hump and win a chip...
The Celtics need a better coaching staff around them to get that ring.
Jaylen Brown in the playoffs is a turnover machine. That's what he does. Turns the ball over. Ever sloppy.
The way jaylen brown sounded at postgame doesn’t sound like he’ll be back … and he’s in his contract season
Sincerely,
Somebody who was praying the Heat would win because the Celtics going to the finals would have been boring
Every time the Celtics come up short in the postseason , Tatum is the one guy who NEVER shows up when his team needs him.
you have no clue if it wasnt for tatum and white celtics would of gotten swept
