Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: • 100th COUNTRY DOC...
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

Okay officially added to the top of our bucket list - WOW !!
I’m sure Hunter would love this ship! (Also love your videos as well!!)
Same here, then I noticed it costs $40,000 US, so now it's a little further down the bucket list!!
You guys should meet up & make a vlog together... 😁😁
See you there! x
I'm sure Hunter would love it!
That’s rare we get to see a beautifully decorated cruise ship with clean, simple lines and Scandinavian influence. The cabins, lounges and dining spaces have a very 5 star, luxurious ambiance.
We enjoyed your north pole icebreaker journey so much. As we're watching this 1st episode, my husband Jerry's says. "I have engineering documents all over that ship." He's a now retired, Senior Systems Engineer. His company designs and installs Dynamic Positioning Systems for ships. Jerry designed the system on this 1. I thought that was very cool. Just wanted to share that with you both. Small world. This was 1 of his many designs when we still lived in San Diego California.
Love this xx
Oh man, this ship must have been absolutely AMAZING - I am just SO jealous that you guys did this, but also so thankful that you took us with you!
I only recently discovered you two on UAclips...and I'm glad I did. I have so much respect for the two of you having unlocked the secret to actually living life at its fullest. I watch each episode you release with a big smile on my face, because, how can I not? Your positive nature and all around happiness is contagious as well as inspiring. I so badly want to go on this trip to the North Pole and see it with my own eyes now. Oh, just a small observation on my part. You guys clean up pretty good in your fancy attire. (Insert showering joke now) Thanks for the adventures. 🙂
This looks amazing! I hope the ship is more eco friendly than it looks, considering how quickly the polar ice is melting. Also, they’d better have arranged for you to meet with Santa while you’re up there! It’d be so disappointing to go to the North Pole and NOT meet Santa
Eco friendly, north pole and cruise are words that does not work togheter. Cruises are not anywhere near eco friendly
Santa resides in North Pole, Alaska!! I’ve seen him there!!!
I'd assume seeing that the water bottles were reusable and they didn't want anything plastic on the ship, all of the heat is recycled, and they have scientists aboard to get two places the otherwise wouldn't be able to get to, that the ship works hard to try to be eco neutral, even though with ships tech and how business works it's probably not 100%
Apparently from their website, the ship has the latest designs to eliminate pollution and equally importantly doesn’t dump any waste into the sea while traveling, with most of it being recovered.
It can run on MGO or LNG GAS, and also has battery packs installed. So in calm seas it can run fairly economical, but it has 35 megawatts of propulsion, so it will of course burn some fuel during ice breaking maneuvering. The company I work for designed and built this ship, I've spent somewhat around 1000 hrs on board during commissioning and Sea Trials, its a beautiful vessel😊👍
Honestly freaking INCREDIBLE GUYS. How cool that you were some of the first to ever take this vessel for a spin!! just WOW..
its so wicked!
@Creighton Little Agreed!
Hey guys! How have you been?
Hi Sailing La Vagabonde!
i'm honestly so in awe of your relationship, you can tell that you guys are just as in love with each other and enjoy each other's company now as when you first started
i love how Kara was so happy and giggly when explaining everything. like you guy always put me in a good mood! :)
Yep, definitely just added this to our bucket list. The cruise ship is surprisingly luxurious and the views are absolutely incredible! Can't wait for the rest of the series!
I felt like Kara, skipping along all the decks and rooms and outdoor areas, grinning ear to ear and happy as anything! Great vlog!
The excitement when breaking the ice is contagious, especially when Kara hears it in the restaurant 😊🥶
I don't know if y'all are completely aware of this, but the amount of joy you bring into each of our lives with your uploads is immense. ❤ Your energy, your content, and love for humanity as a whole makes our lives just that much more enjoyable. From the bottom of my heart, thank you guys!
Couldn't have said it any better!

Really let's me take a break from depression.

Wow! Really didn't think it could get more incredible than your Antarctica trip, but I can already tell this is going to be incredible! Cannot wait for the next part!!

This video reminds me of the Antarctica series which is one of my favourites on your channel, couldn’t be more excited to watch your North Pole adventures 😍😍 following your journey since 2019!
They just posted this how is the comment 5 h old 🤣🤣
@GraceDorien they made the vid private but not the playlist so people could see it early
To True
True
@jeff all hail Jeff the all knowing. Thank you ❤️
You two are so cute together! Love the playfulness and energy between you two especially after being together 15 years. One can only hope to be as lucky!
THIS SHIP LOOKS INCREDIBLE. everything you need is literally on it! it looks so luxurious and nice to stay at. im so glad you guys could enjoy this!
какое крутое судно. Даже представить не мог что такие бывают ледоколы)
Хо-хо русские!)
@Nastya Guseva ну не совсем, только язык😅
@Макси Мельян Я тоже не русская на самом-то деле🙃
Why were there no people on your tour? This is such an incredible tour/ship I would expect it to be packed. What a great experience for you guys!
because it costs $30,000+ !!!
Kara was so funny and so much fun in this video! Great content
I literally don't even know how to describe how I feel watching you guys do these incredible adventures. I found you shortly after my now 5 year-old was born and I quickly decided to binge watch you from day one until present day. Seeing you go from not riding a giant ferris wheel because of your budget, to showing people the adventures that exist it literally brings tears to my eyes, Thank you for being 100% authentically you, excited over every little thing and I can tell you still feel the pinch me moments. You two feel like family and I cannot wait to watch this adventure unfold.
I could not say this any better!!!😊
Oh right! The Ferris Wheel story! Nate got a lot of flack for that, people calling him cheap for taking Kara to see it but not ride it. It made perfect sense given their $75/day budget that had to include all housing, transportation, food, and entertainment. But he's mentioned it in several videos after that people got mad about "The Ferris Wheel incident."
@Carole Hirsch oh for sure! That’s why I love that I went back and watched it all in order because watching them go from the basic travel and LOVING (most) of it to the fanciest stuff and still being the same - just love them.
Your Antarctica series was fantastic, I’m already sure this will equally blow my mind 🤩
Such an amazing adventure 😲 and perfectly captured for us to all enjoy! Love you guys - you’re our inspiration 😁 we want to be the ‘Kara and Nate’ of the 50’s something crowd 😂😂 xx
WOW guys, ! I'm speechless! What an incredible ship! In the north pole onboard that amazing cruiser!! Looking forward to the next videos!!
🎁Thank you for always watching and commenting! You have been selected in my draw. Winners, should text on telegram to claim their prize.(Only Winners)
This ship looks amazing and is giving me nostalgia from when I was in Antartica. Which had rougher water? The Arctic or Antartica? Hope you have an amazing time!
🎁Thank you for always watching and commenting! You have been selected in my draw. Winners, should text on telegram to claim their prize.(Only Winners)!!!
Ahhh wow, that ship is absolutely STUNNING!!!! This is for sure our list now!!! I love all of the lighting and how glamorous the cabins are - and probably the best gym view, EVER!
This is officially the most jealous I’ve ever been of a Kara and Nate adventures.
You guys are God's gift to globe trotting. Not only have you stepped foot at the South Pole, now the North Pole is at your doorstep. And oh yeah, all those points in between.
What a fantastic series this will be! Imagine a 14 day trip from Svalbard to the North pole..just wow. Cannot wait to see everything in this series.
The arctic and Antarctica are both on my top 5 of places to travel. TYSM for showing me what it’s like!
What an unreal experience! While part of me thinks I'd love to do it, I then remember just where it is. How far out in the middle of nowhere and the ocean it is, and I shudder.
You guys are literally GOALS. Thank you for this adventure! Your videos have carried me through COVID lockdowns, unemployment, and everyday frustrations. You are a light to the world. 🥰
especially during climate change and significantly heat increased around the world.
Hi both, This episode is gonna be epic. Don't think anyone will cover the Northpole so well
I went there last January '22, 24/7 darkness. It is in my vlog, You guys should try that too!
only Santa might top them
Sooo excited to see what comes next over the next 2 weeks on this amazing and EPIC adventure! Following Kara all over the ship got me totally and completely lost! That was fun! Can’t believe it’s so huge and so luxurious! What an incredibly built ship! As everyone has mentioned already, the joy you bring to all of us is next level and so appreciated! Thank you!
I know without a doubt, much like your Antarctica series, this is going to be a series I will watch over and over and over again and I'm only 12 mins into the video! So cool, you guys! Thanks so much for bringing us along!
Just curious..... which did you enjoy more...this trip or Antartica? Love watching you guys
Look at how far you have come! You are living the life and what a fantastic opportunity for you! I love the ship and the trip. I will definitely look into this.
Polar cruise is amazing! So happy for you experiencing all that, enjoy!! ☺️
I'm so excited about this series. Your content is fantastic. I can't believe you only have 3 million followers when you provide us with so much content that deserves a much larger audience.
"It doesn't get dark ever up here" ... except for winter... when it doesn't get light!
Great video, as ever, guys.
Lol I laughed so hard at that 😅
No problem. When it gets dark up north, get down south.
They probably don’t conduct cruises at that time of year
I had no idea anything like this existed! So happy y’all got to experience this! I can’t wait for the next episode.
Gotta love Kara and her energy in this entire video!
Overacting
absolutely amazing. I love it. wonderful adventurers, carry on, carry on
We've been wanting to go on a cruise for some time, after watching this my husband say we have to take this one. I am all for it! You guys make everything look like the best thing ever.
what is cruise called
@Kelly Iwarimiejaja Le Commendant Charcot
What an incredible experience! I’m looking forward to the entire series. I watch travel UAclips videos to get inspired for the three months my partner and I travel each year. Spending 50000 on a two week trip is far beyond aspirational for us…but it’s wonderful to experience it through your eyes! I like the balance of budget friendly and the occasional luxury experience on your channel. Thanks for the inspiration! ❄️
How much 50k ?
@carlos ortiz yeah if you go to the cruise line website packages start at $41,000 for 14 nights. 😳😬✌🏼
@joehatrix Jesus
@carlos ortiz $37,160
That’s also for just one person 😭 2 people it would be 80k
Omg! Kara was already making me laugh with how hyper she was during the tour, but then the Teletubbies suit and her dancing happened and I was DYING!!! Such a good vibe! Love it!
oh wow, this cruise for 16 days is $35,000, what an amazing treat this would be! hope you guys have a blast! all these years later and you guys are still loving your adventures and appreciating each other, it's nice to see! (That duplex suite goes for $77,000 in case someone has extra cash lying around)
Is that per suite or per person?
As much as I HATE the winter/cold and would NEVER even think of taking a cruise - - watching this makes me want to drop everything and spend all of my money to do this!! Cannot wait to see the rest of the series!!!!!
🎁Thank you for always watching and commenting! You have been selected in my draw. Winners, should text on telegram to claim their prize.(Only Winners)!!!
So happy for you both! You guys deserved it! lovely fancy trip to the arctic!
Wow what an amazing ship! And only 5 cm steel....that's surprising! Thanks for taking us with you on this trip!
Can we just appreciate Kare and Nate because they have been to every continent.
Yes, the north pole is just an iceberg though, its not a continent
@David Analyst I wasn't implying that the North Pole was a continent
Wow 2 weeks aboard that ship unbelievable! So awesome!!! Amazing amenities and unreal views. That's a bucket list type of trip! Congrats
I simply ADORE the immense enthusiasm in your videos… I’m not a fan of cold weather at all but the joy on your faces makes me feel warm and happy inside as I watch this beautiful video
Wow, that's quite an adventure! Have fun you guys! Thanks for sharing your awesome experience!!!!❤️👍
I did a cruise with my mother to Alaska back in 2007 and fell in love with the beauty of the landscape.
I personally enjoyed going through the ice that we had to traverse and the glaciers we saw.
BUT...... I am extremely jealous of your trip. I didn’t know there was a cruise that one could take to the North Pole.
I guess I will live vicariously through y’all.
I miss you guys doing this! Great to see you two back at it again!
🎁Thank you for always watching and commenting! You have been selected in my draw. Winners, should text on telegram to claim their prize.(Only Winners)!!
This is simply awesome. I love your videos. I am also a big fan of Dowinee Live. So thanks to you both for taking me on fabulous trips! Love ya!
Y'all are so cute. Glad you made this a series--I'm excited for all of it! xo PS Cold, wet shoes are the worst..but if it had to happen, at least it will be memorable!
🎁Thank you for always watching and commenting! You have been selected in my draw. Winners, should text on telegram to claim their prize.(Only Winners)
Yesssss! I really enjoyed the Antarctica series so I feel like this is the well deserved sequel! The boat looks amazing.
This looks like an amazing trip! No judgement in what I am about to ask, I just want to know your thoughts. As much I would love to go to North and South Poles, is it better from an environmental stand point to limit human interaction with these ecologically sensitive areas? Again I would like to know Kara and Nate's thoughts on this (BTW, love your channel).
🎁Thank you for always watching and commenting! You have been selected in my draw. Winners, should text on telegram to claim their prize.(Only Winners).
I was thinking along those lines too. The luxury of the ship was beautiful, but the environmental effect was hard to watch. These ships are speeding up global warming by breaking up chunks of white ice that reflect solar rays. Smaller chunks melt faster, meaning less rays get reflected and instead get absorbed, thereby heating the earth. Ironic that they promoted the green initiatives with the reusable bottles and recycled engine heating system.
Nobody, nooobody, makes travel videos as well as Kara & Nate. Thank-you so very much. Lotsa love from Doug in Toronto.
🎁Thank you for always watching and commenting! You have been selected in my draw. Winners, should text on telegram to claim their prize.(Only Winners)!
The first video I watched of you was the Antarctica Series. Now seeing your North Pole experience while actually heading to Longyearbyen myself in a few days, makes me so happy. Thank you for the inspirations!
Say hello to Cecilia, Christopher and Grim!
Wow!! Looks incredible the ship! It must feel so surreal to be breaking through the ice while on board.😮😍🙌
I ran straight away to check the price of such a trip. The cheapest version I've found $74,320 per 2 people (1 room). Well, what a motivation to work harder to be able to afford such a cruise. It looks truly amazing!
I love how you're discovering such adventures and sharing those with us!
🎁Thank you for always watching and commenting! You have been selected in my draw. Winners, should text on telegram to claim their prize.(Only Winners).
That looks incredible. I've always wanted to go to the North Pole. I just looked up the prices for the cruise, and unless I sell my house, I won't ever be able to go on it haha
🎁Thank you for always watching and commenting! You have been selected in my draw. Winners, should text on telegram to claim their prize.(Only Winners)
Awesome! Can't wait for the whole series! What an experience!!
You two are awesome, tanks for sharing so many amazing places in our planet. Bucket list add on straight away. Can't wait for the rest of the episodes. 💖👍
I just love you two, never in my wildest dreams would I be able to see the north pole. I am 66 years old with health issues... so thank you for going on this trip, I can see the polar bears through your adventures.
I agree.
This would be incredible, definitely a once in a lifetime trip.
Midnight sun must be the beautiful thing on the planet, I swear, the look of the sun hitting the ice perfectly and the bluest skies
What an amazing experience! This ship is beautiful and this is like my TOP bucket list trip. I can't wait to see if you get to see any polar bears!
I’m speechless! Each time I watch one of your videos of the AMAZING adventures you go on, I always think it can’t get any better than the one I’m watching!! Then ….. you head on an adventure to the NORTH POLE!!! I have learned more from watching your videos than I learned in my years in geography & history classes in high school. Hope you both continue these AWESOME adventures for us all to experience with you. Be safe & have FUN!!
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful trip with us . What a trip of a lifetime.♥️♥️
🎁Thank you for always watching and commenting! You have been selected in my draw. Winners, should text on telegram to claim their prize.(Only Winners)!!
I love you guys so much , my grandma recently passed and watching u have helped me a lot through the tough time , y’all just always make me smile 🙂
That cruise ship is so nice inside. Wow
I'm so sorry for your loss.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m in a similar situation, having lost one of my great-uncles recently.
Omg this is so cool and the ship looks so nice! What an experience! 😍
How cool is it that y’all have been to Antarctica AND the North Pole? So freaking cool. Y’all rock 👏🏼
That ship is amazing and you guys are amazing for showing us thanks!
First I was stunned with the Antartica cruise and now this, definitely adding to the bucket list😍😍. You have to probably be the first travel channel to visit both poles
Oh my gosh, that ship is amazing! I was sad that my own 3 and a half week vacation at our camp (on Lake Superior which is almost as cold as the arctic😉😉 ) ended, but now that I'm home with internet again, I can watch your vacation, lol. So excited to catch up.
I live for Kara's tours, always brighten my day !
kara and nate … i really enjoy your travels around the world… kudos and god bless to both of you…
Your trip to Antarctica was one of my favourite vlogs so far so I know already I’m going to be obsesseddd with this series!! 👏🏼👏🏼
Absolutely love Nate and him explaining things ❤
I would love to do something like that one day, but Titanic kinda gave me a big fear of cruiser boats like that :’)
Even if the technology and everything is way more advanced now, that fear stayed.
I am living it through y’all tho, and I love it !
I really love you guys among all of the foreign content creators that's making a travel vlogs, you guys are the best I'm watching since day 1 and I'm from the Philippines. looking forward to your future vlogs love u guys and take care
OMG, you two are so much FUN, and a great pleasure to watch online! Kara your facial expressions, squeals of delight and giggles are truly adorable - just love that you guys include the bloopers in your editing - that keeps it all fabulously real as well as hugely entertaining too. Thanks for sharing this incredible North Pole journey with us ... I'm a tad envious, and definitely adding this to my bucket list. Enjoy Canada with Eamon, Bec and Max xx
Don't forget Oso is there too! I caught a clip on Instagram of Oso waking them up in the morning with full body hugs and face kisses in bed. That dog is something else!
This is absolutely stunning and lovely. Enjoyed each and every second. kara is evolving!! Along with showing the tour, she is
Singer - 'bur bur bur.. I'm cold I'm cold'
Dancer - 'Dancing with the safety suit on'
Comedian - 'Is it on Auto-pilot', no it's ice-pilot 😂. Pointing hair dryer to shoes and leaving it
Waitress - 'Pinacolada blah blah'
😂
You guys have inspired my husband and I so much. We have officially decided to move to Thailand and start our UAclips channel. We are beyond excited!
I been following you guys for little over a year now and your videos bring me great joy and also get to see the coolest places on earth thank you both
Congrats you two. Keep grinding we all love it.
Man, what a great idea! I never even considered this before today. Now, I can't stop thinking about how to do this trip. Thank you, Kara and Nate!
especially during climate change and significantly heat increased around the world.
Only about $40,000
You guys just keep taking things to the next level! Not gonna lie, I loved the packing video as well. I will watch you guys do anything. But this is awesome!!
I liked the packing video too! But you're right, I'd sit and watch a video of them just packing their clothes, doing laundry, washing dishes. Whatever. I just love hearing Kara's infectious enthusiasm and Nate's well planned explanations.
I never comment on videos but I absolutely love her energy!!!
Now I have to decide if I am going to head to Antarctica or the North Pole next year!!! Just got back from an epic Alaska cruise and land tour!!
If ever UAclips goes bust, Kara will have no trouble finding a job as a Tour Explainer :) She's hilarious. That explanation in the restaurant of the ice breaking and causing the silver to jingle.. that was :) :)
I think you guys need to make a compilation of Kara going “mmm” after every time she tries new food! 😂
Wow! You guys always make me smile! I never expect nothing less from you guys! This really tops the icing to the cake. I can’t wait for the next video and what more to come!
