No Dave, cavitation is not sucking air. It’s to much pressure differential between the suction side and output side of the pump. Grind the flat bars on the intake grate to a point(like a dull knife blade).
Then to get more water flowing into the intake grate you can weld a spoon in front of the grate to increase pressure at the grate. Works like an upside down airplane wing.
With these modifications, you will be able to throw more horsepower at that pump

I could watch stuff like this all day long. Amazed to see that the air filter had a chunk of metal breaking off. I’ve heard of aftermarket air filters that have broken up and destroyed engines.

Your comfortable in front of the camera like Justin is when your truly knowledgeable about what your doing.

It’s amazing that you can get a reliable 350+ HP out of a tiny 3 cylinder engine. Not to mention more than doubling that HP with a built bottom end.

I am now living in Sweden and have done since 1969-1981 and 1989 to current date. Nice to see a typical hard working, entrepreneurial South African making a new life in a safer country.

You should go do the big white water Idaho trip with cleetus, he’s taking his new jet boat on that big upstream Idaho white water river with the 2 tour guides and their big LSA Supercharged tour boats. One of his best videos last year and he’s doing it again soon. Love to see some heavy D crazy shenanagins when everyone backs out of some of the rapids

Looks like the Maelstrom you created is doing well but might take a little tuning. Maybe the size of inlet pipe is going to be enlarged.

Anyone can tear stuff apart. It takes a real mechanic to get it all back together without saying.... "We have these 3 bolts left over... I don't know where they go. Oh well!"

Takes me back to racing and building mod race engines for Yamaha Blasters (original Blaster of course) and SuperJets. Good times. Although when we got 140-150hp out of 1100 triple I raced in the Blaster in the Open Classes we thought we were doing good. It was a rocket though....funnest Jetski I’ve ever ridden. And I’ve ridden them all. Nothing did or probably ever will handle like a 1993 Wave Blaster. The good ol Two-Stroke days! Fun to watch, brings back a lot of memories with this stuff even though they’re completely different now.
PS. The new Four-Stroke SuperJets suck! Honesty all stand ups suck compared to a full mod 550 Kawi!😂

OK, first dude Justin seems like a really great guy. I love the fact he has his son there teaching him the ropes and you could see the kid knew what he was doing. That's awesome parenting.. lead the way and teach them! These days so many kids are just handed everything and have 0 to little work ethic. Man shout out to that service guy and his boy. I worked 5 years in a sea doo dealers and I saw alot of those Rotax rebuilds. They are good engines, spend like 1k on it to get 50hp more which is cheap for the gain of hp in the engine world. The only down side is the fuel consumption. On a oem jet ski, running it full throttle more or les for and hour or hour in a half, 30 gallons of fuel stock engine.. so that's alot! But hey you got the jet ski and you can outrun speed boats that are worth pretty more that that!💁‍♂️not a Greta worthy engine! 😂😂😂

I'm sure others will have corrected this already but, just in case: That boat is "VENTILATING" NOT "Cavitation", there is a big difference as cavitation is physically destructive and a completely different process too with some similarities.

My dream is to get one of these. I was going to build one but got diagnosed with rheumatoid and osteoarthritis and building one is out of the question since I can't turn wrenches or lift any kind of weight anymore. Only way is to purchase one. Going to take time to save the money up since I'm 60 now. Live vicariously thru your videos.

That engine is about taken apart wow.. hats off to the South African chap. That's an impressive overhaul!

Let Justin build the electric jet boat with an expanding roof with solar panels. Build in a storage battery in the trailer that charges off the alternator and solar array or a generator in the trailer. Let the boat also become an emergency home generator and mobile battery for the house. Charge at night low rates and discharge at peak rates. The boat and trailer replace a 25k ice generator. Get the green new steal to rebate for battery backup use on the grid.

Who are these guys? 1st PowerSports is what I see on the van. They really seem to know their stuff!! All the cool tricks, drill bit to hold the tensioner while timing, the thin oil rings that can bite you, etc. It's obvious they know their stuff!
