- Shannon Sharpe’s partnership with Skip Bayless is coming to a conclusion soon.
Sharpe and Fox Sports, the parent company of FS1, which airs “Undisputed,” have reached a buyout agreement, sources tell The Post.
Sharpe’s final show is expected to be after the 2023 NBA Finals conclude in June.
Sharpe’s popular “Club Shay Shay” podcast, which draws a big audience on social media and UAclips, will also be leaving Fox Sports, a source said.

I’m going to miss Shannon on this show. I really think that stretch between November and January really caused genuine friction between the two. Ever since the solo Skip Bayless episode they haven’t really gone at it like they had in the previous 6 years or so. I want these two to succeed, they became a weekday routine to watch for almost 7 years. I’ll definitely miss Shannon

I remember when Shannon Sharpe played on the Broncos and the Ravens. He was the best TE in the game before Tony Gonzalez emerged. Unlike so many of these other TV personalities that are corporate puppets, he's always kept it real, and that's the reason that Undisputed was popular from the day it premiered. They're not going to be able to replace him.
The answer is the Shannon built his brand off the hype of the show and probably realize he could do a Pat Mac type of show and make way more money and have complete control. Has nothing to do with Skip beef. He just knows he can make more podcasting or doing his own daily show.

@Dynasty If that’s the case that’s rare. When I caught a glimpse of Skip Bayless from prior broadcast he made valid points with fact that many knew from spectating. He also contrasted those facts with speculation to attract a distracted consumer proving to be a worthy host of the broadcast. But the first time I noticed Shannon Sharp discuss basketball……I turned the television off. He was clearly there to make a fool of himself and his stuttering is in hilarious punchlines of the emcee in how he calls Skip’ name more than a woman in crisis.😎

This is just sad, I watch very little TV, but Shannon and Skip is my show and If I miss it, I will catch it on the replay on UAclips, That meltdown when Skip totally disrespected Shannon on a personal level publicly I think was the beginning of the end. They showed up, even during the Pandemic, they were committed to a great show, I wish them all the best. Of all the sport talk shows, This was #1....

Not sure that would work. They agree a lot more on topics. And they both have a hate for Lebron which is the biggest debate on the show. And LeBron comes up every episode.

Shannon’s podcast is growing (he is taking it with him). Skip speaks as if talking about sports makes him understand the athlete’s mindset. That friction started when skip said Tom Brady was a better football player than Shannon. It boiled over with Damar Hamlin. Undisputed ratings will crash and burn without Shannon. Shannon isn’t just leaving the show, he is leaving the network. I wonder if he’ll be done with tv, if not I imagine he’ll be a sought after commodity!
The Tom Brady argument was the final straw. Skip got personal and called Shay jealous of Tom. That was crossing the line. The Hamlin argument was Shay continuing to hold Skip accountable for being a selfish jerk. If he hadn't had that argument about Brady, I bet he would have smoothed things over ith Skip over Hamlin.
A week after they argued on air, Shannon clearly said on his twitter page that big things are coming so stay tuned. It should not be surprising he would be leaving sooner than later.
I agree that was the Draymond punch on Poole what skip did to SS about him being jealous of Brady. It was over then once you hear something like that, you know deep down skip has always felt that way for years

Sad because this is one of the most entertaining sports talk duos out right now. But excited for Shannon. He has so much personality and effective communication he'll be just fine! Can't wait to see.
This has been brewing up for awhile now. Especially within the last 7-8 months.
-It all started with the one Tom Brady segment. Where Skip told Shannon he was jealous of Tom Brady, Tom was playing at 45 and Shannon had to quit at 35. Which pissed off Shannon to no ends. The constant disrespect and personal shots Bayless would take at Shannon for criticizing Brady.
-The Baker Mayfield segments would get pretty heated as well between the two. Constant shouting and bickering over a subpar quarterback.
-The straw that broke the camels back was the damar Hamlin situation. Skip sent out the tweet, Shannon was so Pissed that he refuses to come into work the next day. When he returned he tried to explain his absence, and Skip kept cutting him off.
Ever since Shannon returned after missing that show, the show hasn’t been the same. It hasn’t had the same feel, the dynamic between Skip and Shannon has really gone down hill. And it’s such a shame bc they were great together. A great pairing of minds
It’s also reported that there was some friction between Shannon and Fs1. Fs1 was upset with Shannon over a few incidents. The on-court drama with the Memphis Grizzle’s, the Brett Favre lawsuit, the spat with Kwame Brown. It was also rumored that Shannon is pissed with the lack of equal representation on undisputed . With regards to the topics that are selected and debated. As Skip pretty much picks all the topics and Shannon has little to no say, and Skip obviously has more pull to get his way. Also Skip was getting paid more than he was .
Shannon is a big name, with a big brand and wildly successful podcast, and a meme machine. Wherever he ends up, he will be a great addition for whoever locks him up. A few questions remains tho
Would Shannon end up on another network like ESPN for example??? Just imagine a debate with Shannon, Stephen A and Perk about Lebrons legacy.
Also what happens with Undisputed??? Skip is signed til March 2025, Undisputed is Fs1s highest rated debate show. I doubt Fs1 cancels it. Who’s gonna replace Shannon and sit across from Skip on Undisputed for the foreseeable future???

But I’m saying it all really started going down hill in November of 2022, when they had a Tom Brady Segoe ent where Skip mocked and disrespected Shannon with the “he’s playing at 45, and you had to quit at 35” comment. Skip also telling Shannon that he has no right to criticize Brady and how Brady was way better than him (also in the same segment)

Well there's a lot of that can do with Skip and Shannon issues but a big part of it is contract extension and skip had a bigger extension and I don't think sharp was going to have that big size extension like skip did

The show had been getting a little stale for me. I wouldn't go a day without missing segments and podcasts, but even before the Damar issue, it was just the same formula. Pose the question, Shannon goes first, Skip second, rinse and repeat. Cowboys, Brady, Lebron, Rodgers, Mahomes, Luka. The best part for me became the Dew bets and Shannon carried the show IMO.
I'm a huge fan of First Things First now. That trio and their segments are top notch.

I watched this show specifically for Shannon. He seemed to be a genuinely good guy, level headed and funny. With Skip he came across as someone who wouldn't listen as much he would wait to speak. Hope Shannon ends up om another network with a partner that appreciates him because I'll definitely be watching that instead of undisputed.
Skip never wants to be challenged. He monopolizes most of the time on the show. No personality and watch his ratings plummet.
I think the relationship took the biggest hit when Skip said Shannon was jealous of Brady’s career.. very awkward moment on live TV
Part of it may be pay & say plus a huge opportunity offered to Shannon. Shannon should get as much as Skip gets & should have some say over program content since they collaborate. I honestly believe Skip has no problem with this because he & Shannon remain mutually respectful of each other. I believe the issue is the direction the network wants to go. They want something like SAS's talk show which has Joy & a variety of guest hosts to boost ratings. Happy for Shannon, sad for Skip but nearly 7 years was a pretty good run for the two
Sports journalists who have actually played the sport are in high demand. Athletes talking about sports holds more weight than a journalist. Kobe showed us this when he did that "Detailed" show for ESPN. It was more informational than anything Sports Journalists have ever put out.
Shannon’s can go all in the podcast lane where he can talk about more than just sports now so good for him.
I think really you could say it happened in 3 stages
1. When Skip talked about Shannon’s career (quite disrespectfully tbh)
2. Damar Hamlin topic
3. Recently I think Shanon was too emotional responding to Kwarme (nothing to do with Skip).

@Zach Bowman it was. All I keep remembering is Shannon saying “I’m in the F’n hall of fame!” I was with Shanon for that one. I think after that he let his emotions get the better of him and that’s why he reacted at the Grizzlies game and why he responded to Kwame. Anyway I’m a big fan of Unc and he’s an open book that wears his heart on his sleeve. At least he’s honest and I wish him success

Believe it or not...there was friction way before this. Shannon got along very well with the previous moderator, Jenny Taft. Skip had a few run-ins with her on the air, and I bet my momma's life he was nasty to her behind the scenes, and pushed her out as well. This had to have rubbed Shannon the wrong way. He knew it was only a matter of time before Skip turned on him, too. Skip is detested by those who work with him--dating back to his ESPN days. There have been articles written about his pettiness and childish vendettas.

I think Shannon started to realised people might not take him seriously anymore if he continues to work with skip. Some of Skip’s opinions don’t validate a barber shop entry let alone a media member card.

It was time for a change. Whether people like it or not , it is Skip's show just as First Take is SAS's show . Personally I do not really like either show save in small doses because I think they underestimate the listners' capicity for substantive discussions as opposed to hot takes. At times both Shannon and Skip were capable of thoughtful comments but over the past year it seemed like more like satire . They both knew it was time to part ways. .......Now about having Barkley sit opposite Skip

I made sure I would watch the show after a Laker loss or a Cowboys loss. It was pure entertainment to see Shannon as a die hard Lebron Supporter and Skip as a Lover of the Cowboys defend their positions in the face of reality. At the end of the day, I'm sure they can find some other loudmouth to pair with Skip and make this entertaining. No big loss to tell you the truth. There are many guys who could step in and do what these clowns get paid millions to do.

Many people are going to miss Shannon Sharpe.. Ryan Clark from ESPN, would be a great replacement.
It was getting tedious. Many of the topics were worthy of discussion especially when they revolved around matters of race and class. I very much appreciated Shannon’s thoughtful perspective, as well as Skip’s on these serious topics. On the other hand, the debate style “arguments” regarding the drama in sports is getting old.

They honestly kinda need each other. Skip needs a big, funny personality to go against him. And Shannon needs a Skip to be ridiculous and set him up
I think Shannon got fed up with Skip's trolling and contrarian "persona" on the show. The Damar Hamlin incident is probably the straw that broke the camel's back.
While Skip can be entertaining at times, his constant nitpicking of LeBron James, endless excuses as to why the Dallas Cowboys lose, unrequited love of Kevin Durant, etc. probably caused Shannon Sharpe to say "no mas".
The dig at Sharpe few months ago when they were talking Tom Brady and Skip made disrespectful comment about Sharpe and Sharpe took his glasses off it got heated. That was def one i remember i think Sharpe got really pissed about that. Cant say i didnt see this coming but man this sucks.
The Tom Brady argument when Skip said Tom was better than Shannon and said he was jealous cause he had to hang it up sooner... That was it for Shannon.

I got a good replacement. Ocho Cinco Chad Johnson that man was awesome on undisputed. He's got the enthusiasm and the charisma just like Shannon and I think he'd be a great replacement
Chad has charisma but Unc has charisma, jokes, wisdom, and keeps it real 💯 Chad would be a fine replacement but it's a downgrade.. we goin see if skip is as big of a star he thinks he is.. he's gonna have to carry the show instead of getting carried

I find Shannon really funny and tend to agree with his take when he isn't getting to political tbh if i was him i would leave to he is big enough name he can get his own show.

We all saw the writing on the wall its never been the same since that infamous Tom brady argument between Skip and Shannon luckily Unc has built his brand and following he can do a show all on his own and as for Skip he might be in real trouble trying to replace Shannon I don't know anyone that can have the same type of chemistry on air like these 2 did and be able to tolerate the disrespect that Skip occasionally gives outside of maybe Stephen A. Smith
I don’t understand why they have these shows in the first place like (undisputed) or (first take) if only one opinion matters most of the time specially when it comes to the second party like Shannon and Max the minute those guys were getting good at their jobs this is when jealousy plays in who cares who had the last word in any given day what really matters is the consistent of the show it disappointed that it’s always the same drama, who ever the show replace it’s still going to be the same story.
Bummed. I don't think I'll be up for whoever may replace Uncle Shay.

The character skip plays gets old and people just don't want to deal with him. It's definitely more that than Shannon wanting more say in the topics. Skip is really nothing more than a controversial character that his co-hosts have to cope with.
Always enjoyed the show, but I wish the best for Shan. I thinks it’s for the best, Skip became insufferable to watch or listen to. And the shot he took at Shan was a big issue

In my opinion everyone is wrong....he is experiencing a different type of celebrity outside of the NFL then he has before and his solo show is showing that he can hold his own...i think he was offered a deal for his own show on a network or signed a deal for his youtub channel skip can not get the level of people in a show the Shay Shay has gotten
I wish the best for both of these guys, but Shannon is definitely my favorite, Skip acts like a petulant child when he doesn’t get his way and it starts to become irritating after awhile , I’m sure Shannon is tired of the disrespect and hopefully moves on to greener pastures.
