Candy is most definitely a horrible person! Good for Ashley for healing and moving forward with her life! None of what happened was her fault and I wish her and her family the best!

Ashley is absolutely gorgeous. Has 5 kids and still looks that amazing? She didn’t deserve any of this. She was there for him even when he didn’t deserve it and made that whole dinner, cleaned the house all to make him feel special because he was pulling away. She is so selfless and deserves nothing but the best. So happy she’s remarried with a huge family now. I hope she’s doing well and thriving.

Instead of focusing on Dr. P, I'll concur that Candy is a POS. She sided w/ her husband during the trial because she didn't have Emmett anymore. But what really sticks out to me is the embezzlement and lack of apology to Ashley. Candy is a selfish and disgusting excuse of a human being.

@Emma Kennedy ofcourse it's mostly women and I got two older sisters so I get it. but looking through the comments shows you how people think on base level. It's actually pretty interesting. It's Aalmost like watching animals in their natural habitat in a sense. But there are no saints here I'm sure. Probably so much you can pick from each of us here.

I also hope candys kids are doing okay, having to experience all this because of her mothers bad choices, as well as Ashley’s kids. I hope they find happiness as well. This is such a tragic story.
The only people I feel sorry for in this case are Ashley and her children. I hope that they can pick up the pieces and find peace and stability.

As a reminder… Ashlee made Emmett that amazing dinner with a clean house, when she was only 6 weeks postpartum with her fifth baby, all because she sensed that HE might be struggling with something, setting every single need of her own aside just to show him she loved him. She was the perfect wife by every definition, and he threw it all away for nothing. So many cautionary tales in this tragedy.
He threw it all away for a woman that did not give 2 effs about his well being and quite literally his life. A horrific reminder that we have to do right by the people who love us ....😢

If you go to her blog you'll see pictures of her and her new husband and the entire 7 kids. She literally looks like she could be the kids' sister. The woman has been through so much, but she sure kept good care of her skin through it all😊
Ashley is sooo beautiful! Inside and out. She didn't deserve what this life handed to her but she got 7 amazing kids and a loving husband out of all the pain she had to go through. I can't imagine. Good for her for doing so well now and helping other women. She's so strong and my heart goes out to her and her family ❤

This story is heartbreaking and every time I hear it I have a surge of panic. I can’t even begin to imagine the betrayal and infuriating unfairness endured by Ashlee and her children. I’m glad she feels peace through her faith, and I love that she continues to advocate and support others with endless empathy.
For all the women out there thinking that having kids is enough for a cheater to feel sorry - it’s not:( As much as it hurt - go your own way. Leave the mess for yourself and for your kids❤
My heart breaks for Ashley. Pains from betrayal, postpartum, grief and more. Good for her for being able to move on. I feel like I would be crushed by just knowledge of infidelity let alone your spouses death when you and your family need them. So sad

If Candy wasn't already a piece of trash for cheating on her husband, and taking part in ruining a family, to come on Dr. Phil and not even act like she was sorry. I'm glad that Ashley has found love again and has moved on. She is clearly 1000% a better woman than Candy. This may sound harsh, but I'm guessing the "sorry" she hoped for from Emmett wasn't coming either. They had both cheated behind Ashley's back, planned on going to a divorce attorney without so much as a chance at repairing the marriage. He didn't even show up for marriage counseling. He may not have been like that when they met, but he sure started to act like a P.O.S. I'm sure if Emmett had lived, Candy and him would have rubbed their relationship in Ashley's face and flaunted themselves all over town and social media. These situations are just disgusting and I'm really sorry that Ashley had to deal with it at all.

While I don't think Candy is a good or even decent person, Emmet is actually the one who is willing to abandon his five children and break apart his own family. I'm not sure why everyone is pointing fingers at Candy as a home wrecker. Emmet is wrecking Candy's family just the same. Candy is not responsible for her husband's or Emmet's behavior. They were planning to file a divorce. Sure it's sad to see someone fall out of love while the other person is still fully committed, but that happens and that's no one's fault.
I work at a Walgreens and I can say that if something like this were to happen at my store I don’t think I would be surprised. We see a lot of strange things. I wish we did have security cameras outside of our store to actually be able to help in cases like this.

Ashley is so strong. She had to deal with multiple types of grief... grief of her husband's death, grief of his infidelity, and grief for her kids losing their father. Then she had to suffer the embarrassment of people knowing her husband died cheating and fighting for another woman. I cannot imagine what this woman went through. And then to confront her husband's affair partner with such grace and articulation of her feelings....women like her are awe inspiring. I wish her a world of happiness and healing for her and her children.

This case frustrates me. If you are not happy, leave. Do not cheat. You hurt so many people when you do that. I pray for healing for Ashley, her kids, and Rob’s KIDS. Not Candy. She knew what she was doing now she has to live with that.

Every time I watch something about this story and see photos of him his eyes always make me feel like he was also on drugs. I’m always so sad for her, I cannot imagine. She deserved better and I’m low key happy for her that she gets a chance at a new life and new love.

hearing this from the perspective of the twins old friend is really cool. i have followed ashlee’s blog for several years now and i didn’t even know the extent of her story; just from the perspective of her being the mom to my school friends. it is so cool to see how she has changed her life around while also uplifting others. her and her family are so strong

No you're not the only one who doesn't feel bad for the victim. My first thought was "good riddance". But I do feel bad for the pain that Ashley and her children had to go through. Then again the way I look at it is that Rob may have been inadvertently saving Ashley's life bc who knows what Emmett was capable of if he had so little regard for the mother of his 5 children, even while she was carrying the 5th one. I can't help but hope Rob gets that parole in 2028.

I have no sympathy for anyone in this case except for her. she truly sounds like an incredible person and I can't imagine the pain she went through. Can't believe Rob was going to take his own life too. His teenage daughter probably would have blamed herself for the rest of her life because she was the one to make the call to Rob and told him the store her mother and Emmett were at.

I think we are beyond words to describe this woman’s tournament from her husband, candy, candy husband and im so disgusted that dr Phil thought that this was ok to use it to his own advantage. She’s an incredible woman and the way the father acted toward his own family who loved him unconditionally is unforgivable. Im not gonna talk about those two who ruined so many lives but instead give this mother the praise and light she deserves. Those kids are so blessed to have a mother that can show strength and love through anything and come out doing better for herself.
This case has always made me sick to my stomach. Thank you for giving the update on Ashley and the kids, makes it a little easier to listen knowing that they are doing so much better now.

I actually dealt with something similar. My boyfriend drowned in a freak accident in 2016 & right before his funeral I found out that he had been cheating on me. The grief is so chaotic when you’re both grieving the loss of who you thought was your life partner, but you’re also so hurt & betrayed.
I’m so glad Ashley found love again & I pray he’s good to her. 🖤

I remember this case. I'm glad to see that Ashlee has been able to move forward, heal, and find love again. I can't believe so many people still have affairs, knowing that they often end in someone losing their life. It's $hitty enough to cheat on your spouse, and it's so not worth all the destruction that comes along with it.

I have a hard time finding any sympathy in my heart for Cyndie or Emmit. but my heart breaks for Ashley and her children as well as Cyndie's. none of them deserved to loose a parent or partner in such a horrible way.
I’m almost SURE her kids don’t look at their mom the same. Their father has a chance to get out which is good so he can mend things. Candys life is screwed hence why she got arrested shortly after.

Candy is absolutely vile. The way emmett did that to Ashley is abhorrent and he never deserved her. I’m disgusted in this whole case.

The only ones that I really feel bad for in this case are Ashlee and all of the kids (and Emmett’s family, of course).
I don’t cry often anymore, but the strength that Ashlee has after all of this is just so incredible and inspiring. I followed her on instagram, what an amazing woman. She really seems like the perfect wife and mother, she’s so beautiful, kind and driven and it’s heartbreaking how she was treated.
I hope Candy feels guilt for what happened for the rest of her life, but sadly, it doesn’t seem like she does
I hope Candy never lives this down, what an awful creature. I hope to god that she’s miserable, and I’m so happy that Ashley is doing well!
@Stephanie Gilcher She's still an awful person for involving herself in Ashlee's life then coming at her as if Ashlee ruined her life and image. Not to mention what she put her own family through. She's heartless af.

Wow thank you for covering this case, if i go into my walgreens app and search nearby stores, this store comes up quickly and i have never heard about this case! Ashlee seems like such a sweet person and i hope she’s healed as much as someone can in this situation.
What a beautiful person Ashlee is, inside and out. Heartbreaking to think what happened to Ashlee, their kids, and families due to other people's selfish actions and behaviors. He threw away his marriage, everything he had built with her and their family for someone who is absolutely worth nothing, just so sad and unfortunate. Ashlee deserved SO much better than what she went through, and thankfully she has only brought more beauty to the world with her acts of kindness, forgiveness, and inspiration.
My heart is torn for Ashley and the kids. I hope she finds closure and true happiness one day.

She didn’t say sorry because she isn’t sorry. Zero remorse. People like that are trash. Ashley froze because she has class and is obviously a sweetheart and great human, Cindy doesn’t compare at all. Cindy is the type of girl(not woman) who is never satisfied and needs attention from everyone. She must still be so insecure that she can’t for a second grow enough to have a little humanity or empathy. Basically she’s expressing signs of psychopathy 😂 and I don’t expect anything less from dr Phil who is comparable to Maury and jerry springer. All we can do is completely BOYCOTT his show, clips, and anything that keeps him in business. Just don’t watch it and support nasty scripted evil shows.

I don’t understand how people build a relationship with someone, then make a family with the person, and then just possibly loose it all over selfish decisions. I hope that Ashley, her children, and Candy’s children are doing good.

I remember reading about this case back when it happened. Honestly, even now, I think Emmett was a major POS. He didn’t deserve to die, but I can’t bring myself to feel bad for any pain or fear he felt in his last few moments. I feel so much anger towards cheaters, especially when theres kids involved. The same goes for Kandi. She seems like a miserable human being and she deserves it.
The only people I feel bad for are Ashlee and her kids, as well as Emmett’s family. I was so relieved to find out she remarried when I looked into her again last year. Her and her children deserve all the happiness and healing they can get.
Whoa. This case hits home for me! There’s a chiropractor in my family, me and my family attended USU, my family is in the same church, we share names with this family, and I have a friend from Boise who looks just like Ashley! Such a sad tragedy and wish Ashley and her family the best.
Happy for Ashley in the end, though she didn’t deserve to go through all of that pain. She’s a strong woman who pulled through to find her own happiness! She’s truly an inspiration

It breaks my heart that Ashley believed that Emmett would have apologized and made things right with her. When Candy said that they both were going to file for divorce from their spouses. We'll never know the truth. 💔

@Kueen KPop Asian and European are not ethnicities. Asia is a continent, I am half European (also continent) and half Asian (German and Indian). Ethnicity is genetic traits, not where you live. It's with whom you are related by blood, not culturally. But related groups often share the same culture, which should be obvious. My "race" (we usually don't use this term here) would be caucasian in both cases, since Northern West India was heavily influenced by migrations from the West for Millenia, we share more traits with them, if would go by a forensic level of evaluation. There are European people being born and raised in India, they are culturally Indian, their Nationality is Indian, but genetically there are still, for example, French. Their ethnicity would be French, if there was not enough admixture to allow a broader definition, like Central European.

But I don’t know what all this has to do with the fact that Americans aren’t the only people who take back cheaters
