Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

kara, the secret to literally any pasta sauce is the cooking water, it makes the sauce bind because of the starch in it, so as a little tip, always keep the cooking water or at least a cup of it!! btw, loved the video!

We laughed so much at that moment! haha! We bought a Swedish boat and we are english speaking Americans... so we are in the process of getting all of our labels switched to english. It made for some funny conversation in the beginning when we couldn't understand certain labels!

Cool video as always. Love that you included Sailing La Vagabonde crew! While I agree somewhat with Riley on this boat's seaworthyness at least for extremes....I think this silent yacht can "sail" around the world. Lots of tech and combined with a competent crew....I think it would do just fine. I agree that it was "designed" for island hopping in the Med or Carribean.

I'm right there with you Nate, I get so seasick I don't know if I would be able to do 2 weeks on a boat 😬 But it sure does look amazing!
Once you get your "sea legs" it's smooth sailing and the sea sickness passes! For me, if I've been on land for a few weeks and go back to sailing it takes a solid three days at sea sometimes... but once I've got my sea legs... I'm solid! We are full time sailors....that's the only reason I know!

I think it's brave of anyone to manufacture a boat like Silent do. It's part of an evolution. I think it's obvious that hybrid solar and sail power is the way it's going. What I think is being missed by so many companies and Silent do offer this is using a kite to help move it along. I don't see why, with modern materials... kites are not sent way up high to power boats along. I have seen boats like the Kiteboat project.

Started watching you guys back in March of this year (2022) and subscribed soon after. I love these videos and the job that you guys do in them! Very entertaining and family friendly. I also saw on a video from 2021 that you guys actually stayed 15ish minutes from my house when you stayed in one of the treehouse’s at Bolt Farm in Whitwell, TN! My wife and I live in the valley right in front of that mountain! Hope that you guys can make your way back to this area soon or to Chattanooga!

You learn something new everyday! As a keen boater (more of a wide beam narrowboat rather than a cruise ship) I never thought you could cruise in darkness but it may just be the rules on the waterways in the UK.

(Kara, you do not get seasick, because you are a Pisces, the fish. The water is the natural place for you, which is why running is not exactly your best sport.Isn't Nate a fire sign? (Aries) Why he takes on challenging activities and wants to accomplish. Riley too, is a fire sign, so the two men are quite compatible together.
