Plushie Makeover: First Time Custom With NerdECrafter

- Hey guys! Today is a super exciting nw project, I've NEVER seen anyone do this before, Jackie from NerdEcrafter and I have decided to try customizing plushies for the first time. This is a lot like squishy makeovers, but with plushies instead!
Since this has never been done before, we are having to get very experimental. I ended up using a combination of techniques and materials to give my plushie a makeover. I will be doing some basic sewing, gluing, using felt, ribbon, and lots of fabric paint as usual! We decided to us Squishmallows to customize since they are so simple and really cute. Get ready for some cute plushie creations 😊

Hey! my name is Moriah (pronounced muh-rye-yuh 😂 ) and this is my channel....obviously. I'm 25 and like doing anything creative...and being snarky.....just a lil. I make a lot of decorating and painting videos here. I'm obsessed with editing and adding lil bits to my videos, so if that's not your thing....oof you may hate this haha. I paint on squishies, thrift store finds, and other random things I pick up. I also love to draw, but don't expect anything too skilled, I'm not the best at that haha. You will also find occasional crafting/testing crafting kits on my channel which are always a hot mess. And even some baking (REALLY bad at that, but it's fun to try LOL).

I have an idea! So you know how she has a squishy rating after every year, well she can make it a tradition that whatever becomes the #1 squishy gets made into a stuffed animal and (optional: maybe include the year, date, or something). So then every year, there will be a limited edition plushie that you can collect!

you can seal those satin ribbon edges just by quickly warming them with a lighter. Satin ribbon is usually polyester (unless specifically otherwise stated, and cotton sateen or silk satin is way more expensive), so it's plastic and melts in heat.

My family got those same pack of squish mallows. Looking back I can remember giving it too my aunt who likes dinosaurs and my cousins. I also remember little me running upstairs grabbing the three I liked {The Pink unicorn, the Pegasus, and the gray cat Edit: and the blue owl I stole from my brother XD} and bringing them back downstairs. I love this idea! I have really been into sqishmallows and I love this it was so entertaining to watch! I love the anti rainbow monster the most lol!
I always hated loose threads coming off of my plushies. All my plushies were from factories/stores. So you know they were most likely made by machines in lines. It's just annoying when random loose thread appears cause I don't wanna mess with it cause if I do I might make it worse and tear my plushies or something. I don't think I'm supposed to cut them off, but I don't know how to put them back wherever they came from either.

As another mediocre hand-sewer: Use a pair of pliers to help pull the needle through thick or tough fabrics like the monster's spine. Much easier on your hands, trust me. As for the thread knotting, it will know less if you take the time to pull the thread straight after each time you pull the needle and thread through what you're sewing. I also put my thumb on the thread as it travels through the fabric. If it does get knotted, use the needle to tug the knots loose; because its a loop that knotted together the knots are pretty easy to loosen if you use the needle tip.
None of what I said makes sense written down, I'm sorry; I tried.
IM VERY VERY VERY LATE BUT, for the painting on the plushies, theres something called a "AirBrush" that LIGHTLY sprays the paint of your choice on anything
