I Bought a Porsche Carrera GT - My All-Time Dream Car!

The comments here are truly amazing -- I am honestly overwhelmed by all of the incredible support. I can't tell you how wonderful it feels. I know a lot of UAclipsrs buy a lot of exotic cars, so I wasn't entirely sure how this would go -- but I'm so, so thankful that everyone understands just how truly meaningful this is to me. Truly, truly, thank you -- for your support today and over the last 10 years.
By the way, something I forgot to mention in this video: every single year on July 15, I call my friend Brett to commemorate our Carrera GT sighting back in 2005 and to catch up. Every year, for 17 years, even on my wedding day! :)

I got a little, short story too, i don’t know you could read or anyone care but i just want to tell.
I’m a petrolhead / car enthusiast too. My passion is about Ferrari. I’m from Turkey. In first month of 2008, Shell decided to gifting Ferrari toy/model cars again. In those times; i’m 9-9.5 years old and i didn’t know so many things about car. But i did love cars and my favorite color was red, still red. I see that Ferrari commercial with Schumi on TV. I wasn’t know what is a Ferrari but i was excited and i wanted that toys.
One days my father bought some gas in a Shell station. I wanted a toy and he said “Okay go and get your toy”. I went to the Shells market and i told that man I want the black Ferrari.
He said “Unfortunately we don't have any black Ferraris left. But you can take this one. This one is a brand new and succesful Ferrari too”. It was a Ferrari F430 Challenge and it literally directed my life. In that day i met with the meaning of my life, Ferrari. I loved Ferrari and i learned about Ferrari. With years, Ferrari become the very thing that defines me and shaped my life. My all time dream Ferrari is F40 because she is the most Ferrari Ferrari. Enzo Ferrari’s last love, build for only race feeling, performance on road. I never even see one because my country is not really into cars. My feelings about Ferrari and F40 is just like your feelings about Carrera GT. I want to own my beautiful F40 some day. And i’m working for it. But not only F40. F40 is my favorite Ferrari road car all time, so far okay. But my life’s meaning is Ferrari word’s definition. Racing passion, dream cars, feeling, freedom. Ferrari is not a race team or a brand or a surname. Ferrari is the passion about four wheels. Ferrari didn’t designed first roadcar or racecar. But gave them soul. Ferrari is my life’s meaning and purpose.
Right now i’m 24 years old senior Engineering Student. My only purpose is became a succesful engineer in Ferrari. Making Ferraris better. Making Ferrari great again in people’s vision. Inspiring chields with dream cars and racing success. Dream racecars. I hope some day i can succeed just like you and show everyone that true car enthusiast’s sparkle in my eyes. Congrats again, i’m really, truely happy for you.

I have never ever been happy for someone else in my life (except of course for members of my family). When i watched this video, i didn't even flinch once, had wide smile over my face and enjoyed every second of it. Doug is the type of guy who is most honest, most sincere, most unspoiled and most pure soul man i have ever seen. That video is such a full circle to his life. I have been following you since 2016 and your videos have been such a big part of my life whether that be giving me an amazing amount of knowledge about cars or just giving me a chance to relax and getting me through hard times. I've loved- and will continue to love- browsing cars and bids and watching your reviews.
I can relate to your story about how you love the Carrera GT, but my favorite car is the Lexus LC500. I saw my dream spec of it one day last July and it's been my (phone and computer) wallpaper and dream car ever since. I guess they are both the last of their kind in similar ways, too, with the Carrera GT being the last analog supercar and the LC500 being the last V8 luxury coupe.

Hi from the UK, Doug. This gives me a warm feeling inside, and took me back to my dream car which was not on anything near this scale. In 1989 the Mk2 MR2 came out. The first time I saw it I thought, "Wow, I have to have one of these." My cousin bought one and I drove his, and it was such a good drive it made me resolve even more to get one. In 1994, at the same time as I started full time employment, I bought one, a 1991 model, red, with the T-bar top. I was 24 years old. I'm 52 now and I still have that car, and it still gives me a thrill to drive it, though it's no longer my daily driver and hasn't been for some years!

My dad asked him if he can call me, and the guy could rev the engine on the phone, it was one of the best days of my life.

After watching this i just realized Doug is not just a normal youtuber.
He goes all the way to different states and places just to entertain us.
Not to mention he films the cars and has to study about the car so he can show us the "cool features and quirks"
Then he has to go back to his place to edit the video.
Doug is not just a youtuber but a real human too He has a life and stuff going on while doing all this work for our entertainment. Now i realized this.

I had seen it at the Kansas City auto show back in 2014 and I was in love with the 1794 edition, and I had made it a goal to get it, and four years later I made it happen.
