Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

hi
Yeah, an awesome amount of rubbish to fit into such a short timeframe. 👉🏻👽👈🏻
Yes I say to👌👌👌 very nice
Hi I love your videos
You're all absolutely crazy for doing this, but I give you all so much credit for doing it! This could not have been anywhere in the universe of "easy." I hope Sara has recovered by now lol she did not look happy in that last clip.
Kara and Nate. I truly love what y’all do. I enjoy what y’all do together and through all life’s problems and journeys. Y’all are always putting smiles on my face as I watch how amazing y’all are. I’d love to meet y’all one day.
y’all count: 5
@amy HAHAHAHA
one of the best things about dude is that he never takes credit for himself when he achieves something . he always respect us, the audience, and his team, and he is always polite in all of his video. we congratulate ourselves on this achievement more to come and everything to come""❤💛🧡💙
Let's we all just appreciate the content this man and his crew makes it's just a masterpiece imagine what's he's gonna doing the future ❤
I hope this channel never ends and keeps spreading happiness.❤😊
Yea he is nice,and kind
Ps I love your videos
THIS IS SOOOO NATE🥰
I went through JOTB in Panama. Quite the lucky Break for an Air Force Security Policeman to get to go through a big part of Jungle Operations with the Army when they have slots open. Also, I'm sure this group is on one of the Pearl Islands. Great place for Survival shows. Kara seems so can do, great attitude. There is food all around you if you just know what to look for. The Surviver game with Rupert playing, they were on an Island with Yuca Plants, they never dug up the root. The flys are a pair of teeth with wings. But if you had time to stay there a few months they stop targeting you and bite the TDY Troops.
this was great. you guys are awesome. your positivity throughout this reminds me so much of what's important. Kara, you are just such a light-- with the curry, and the coffee and all the smiles-- such a wonderful reminder to be grateful for everything. Cant imagine how good that first meal tasted after the whole thing!
oh also why didnt u eat the crabs
**For those of you wondering, THIS is why we didn’t eat the crabs 😂🦀 www.desertislandsurvival.com/news/2022/5/20/why-didnt-kara-and-nate-eat-the-halloween-moon-crabs
What’d you think guys? 🥥 (BTW the thought of eating coconut still makes us gag 🤣-3 weeks later!). We didn’t include it in this video, but I wanted to share that the boat took us to a resort with a COFFEE BAR and hot showers 🙌🏻 Then we feasted on veggie burgers and fries before napping in a giant crisp white bed 😍 it was truly the best feeling ever!!!!!!
This experience made us appreciate the little luxuries of life, and that has not worn off even being 3 weeks removed. It’s something we think everyone should experience. We paid for this experience so this is definitely not something they asked us to do, but we went to encourage you to sign up for a trip with @Desert Island Survival (they are also in Tonga 🤩). Here’s their site www.desertislandsurvival.com ❤️ Tom and his team are true gems and you will not regret it!
Well said kara
Great. Did you have a great experience?
A splash of perspective is great for re-centering gratitude.
Wow
Kara, do you regret bringing coffee? Seemed like a silly choice (choosing a caffeine addiction) over something more useful? I honestly love you guys so much (such a big fan!) but I'm sorry to say this was not a favorite of mine. I was really hoping to see more preparation on your part to have a better experience. But as long as you had fun and got something out of it then it was totally worth it.
Loved every bit of this amazing life changing experience. Kara I adore you. Lots of love for you guys
Kara bringing coffee as her 1 item is hilarious 😂
I was dying too when she said that 😂😂😂
Ya she loves coffee ☕ 😅
@BrookzTvme to hahaha lol😂
Why does she need coffee anyways?😂😂 it’s just funny.
I love how Kara stay positive and hype during the challenge 😍😍
This was so cool to watch! it was a cool thing to watch you and your friends make something like this look so fun! 😊
Normally I don’t look long UAclips videos but this… I love it! You guys tell everything so calm or it’s makes me calm. So nice❤
I love how Dusty and Sarah are always willing to come on the tough outdoor adventures with you guys! Border waters in a canoe...np....ride a bike across Iowa in 95 degree heat...np! What awesome siblings 👏
Thank God you guys made it through that! The video really did a good job showing just how hard it was to make it through!
I love how Kara stay positive and hype during the challenge . I love how their challenges are actually real compared to other UAclipsrs.
Ikr they’re awesome
Lol bc she had coffee
But very thought provoking and I loved the real feel to it all, as most "Survival" programmes have a full back up team behind the subjects. Well done all 4 of you
I always am more positive after watching you guys’ videos. Like thank you for making content. Even if it’s hard! You guys rock! 🤍
You both are insanely good on camera and just keep getting better
Surviving this is hard enough. Taking the time to set up the camera, film, and tell a story is a level of difficulty that few will understand. Incredible guys.
Exactly what I had in mind.
Umm have you watched any seasons of Alone? Sorry this is not that hard.
you joking? this is vacation pretending to be some kind of survival. people fast for one week regularly.
THIS ISNT HARD, 3 days is literally nothing, if you have water youll be completely fine, you could sit under a tree for 3 days and survive just fine, try doing a week like les stroud used to do
you know this is all fake
You guys did amazing I'd probably would not deal with the crabs at night and swim myself back to land if I could. Love you guys!
I’m new here and love the stuff. I was actually really excited that you guys were sharing your income reports. I know you said you’d share until you hit 100 countries but I absolutely love the transparency. Is there any chance you’d consider doing another one now that your channel has grown?
Loved this. Now looking forward to your new survival episode with Nates dad and mom.
i am so proud off you guys for completing this!! i would never in my life be so brave to do this challenging challenge that yall are doing! keep being brave and keep doing the amazing videos that yall are doing! congrats !!!
Good
Y’all’s story telling skills are amazing! I’m sure you hear that a lot!! 😊
Sarah's face at the end sums it up best!! I would rather do Kara's bucket list item...72 hours in an airport lounge with coffee and fresh cookies
I think that's a challenge I could get on board with!
Me too.. all for airport challenge
Rep, that’s my choice!!
I think it’s only fair if they do what Kara wants.. it’s always Nate lol
I don’t think they know that you can eat the inside of the coconut
This video is soooo underrated! This was awesome and I’m super entertained 😀 😁 good job all of you 👍🏻
Hi guys .. I haven't seen your videos in a while but it was great to see you again in action 👏👏👏 ... keep it on
I found Kara and Nate a month ago and have been addicted since I love this channel so much
I would love to see a collab with Michelle Khare or Safiya Nygaard some good adventures !
Kara seems like such a kind soul
Thank you for making this video so cool and calming . because I just got through watching Sam and Colby
The craziest thing about this whole adventure to me was the amount of plastic that wasn’t left on the island, but washed up on it… I know how much plastic is out there in the ocean, but it is surreal to see it on an uninhabited island.
Great job you guys!! It was so fun to watch and very inspiring!
I wish they would have cleaned it and took it with them ..
@No Name well I think being stranded on a island for 3 days would have drained them to even think about doing that.
something i really enjoyed watching!!
@Josh Stixx Fata: See, one of the first things I would do upon landing there is to scout out and find the trash. Sad it is there, it is everywhere, but it does have great survival uses. First thing is to clean and use plastic to set up a solar fresh water distillation system. Next, sort all plastic I could turn into shingles. Some for cordage. Storage. The shingles along with the hybiscus bark cordage and a rain proof roof and side walls would have been a priority. Use palm fronds to weave walls, bed mats, and a door. This would minimize and even eleminate the invasion of the crabs and the flies. And no shelter under any trees that can drop heavy objects on me and or my shelter. But the plastic distillation for fresh water and shingles to keep the rain and critters off are two ways to quick use plastic waste.
You're so right. We have so much to be grateful for everything we have, the shelter , food, roof, cloths.
I loved this challenge, it really was eye opening.
I still wonder why didn't you eat those crabs 🤔
Actually learned useful stuff in this video. Love it. You guys did amazing.
I'd absolutely love to be in this challenge.
I love how Kara used some coconut and cooked it and she said that it tasted like popcorn. I now want to try it.
Knowing the clip was made in combination of differ purposes and one of them was the commercial but still want to thank much the team for doing it. It shows and delivers a lot to the viewers about treasuring your life and what you have in hands, even just the tiniest or simplest things! Welldone for your achievements as well as the valuable experience that could last for long in your life!👍🤟
We love getting to see what happens in the final 3 day survival phase!
Genuinely impressed with your levels of endurance, You guys were legitimately hardcore.
See you in Tonga! 🙌🏝
WOWOWOOWOWO i love this, you guys are so brave and i love how you take us with your adventures, ofc kara that took coffee hahaha
Are they doing another challenge in Tonga?
@Kamarca At the end of the video they said maybe in a year.
@Gabriel Traveler Thanks, I missed that!
This was really really interesting! I would love to try it but I’m too much of a coward 😅
Great job guys!
and lets just appreciate about they are doing this for us , we all love your vids and we appriciate that you are sacraficing it
kara living her best life, just love her
This honestly may be one of the best videos I’ve ever watched. So entertaining. U guys did awesome!! Wow 🤩 Thank you 🙏
This was a lot of fun to watch. You guys are rockstars...I wouldn't survive 30 min. Next time, eat the crabs! 🌺
Kara bringing coffee as her survival item is so on brand, I was dying laughing
I was cryingggg, but it's Kara I get it...lmbooo
I would’ve brought a tent. I’m very allergic to bug bites, even things like gnats. Plus I think it’s more restful if you know creatures can’t crawl on you and bite you. Your water situation was terrifying. I’m glad you did this it was really real for us to appreciate how people really live on islands for generations. I’m really curious about the rest of the island and what it looks like and what is there. The sad thing is how much plastic washed up on shore.
And yet they didn't bother to pick any of it up.
Why are yall not eating all the crabs??? Im so jealous! I want to do a survival challenge!! Love you guys
Love you guys, you are the epitome of travel, love and humanity goals! Keep up with your work and enjoy the outcome you defo deserve.
But honestly you are on a survival trip without any food and stay of a sandfly infested bed laying down instead of getting those crabs? There even was salt water to season them ;) do it again without almost passing out cause of the lack of food. Stay healthy and may God blesss you. Greetz from Germany
Not saying I’m not grateful but this has proven even more to me that even little things like a sip of water, going to the fridge an getting a snack a nice place to sleep just the little things we should be grateful for everything thank you guys for making this video
Thank you for mentioning the giant spider before showing it aha I was able to cover the screen right on time. I would literally never be able to survive even an hour on that island. I’m so impressed by you four
ya'll can i just say that i love the fact that this vid is literally 47 mins? not to mention their editing skills, so good! you guys should upload more often videos that are this long :))
I was thinking the same. At first I was like no way they put in enough of what they did. They managed to get so many things into this video.
the video felt like a 10 minute video , i didnt know i watched a almost 1 hour video woah
47:54 to be exact and that's 6 seconds off 48 minutes
JANE my name is jane
OMG please post some more content like this, it was so interesting, can you do the same exact thing except you do it in the artic or the forest??? That would be great
They spent about a week up in the boundary waters in MN canoeing with these two as well.
After u watched this now I’m obsessed with Surviving in a deserted island I would love to see more videos like this on you’re channel!
I love how their challenges are actually real compared to other UAclipsrs
idk
literally
Omg Thxs so much 4 this many likes I’m in shock!!
watch ybs younge bloods he does real survival and is a crazy human but he is still awesome
Man I’d love to do things like this you’re lucky!
this was brilliant, sorry I couldn't stop laughing at Nate description of the crabs "then on my head" brilliant and huge well done to you 4
Kara bringing coffee as a survival item is so on brand 😂 gotta have your priorities!
Was thinking the same thing 😂
I'd describe it more as stupid
Pretty stupid when there is no water
I couldnt believe she chose coffee grains over water.
Very stupid actually. With no water to lack of water and you bring coffee which actually will dehydrate you more, especially if you haven't had any proper water to drink. It's the dumbest thing you can bring. They should have just accepted the big jug of water the guy offered then they could have spent their time wiser by catching fish or small insects and eat that
Hey guys! Maybe you don't or already know about this, since you chose to keep a machete around, the way we do it here in the Philippines is we scar the trunks of the coconut tree like pockets so they can serve as steps as you climb it. Hope that helps for the next survival adventure!
Does it not hurt the tree???
Can you guys do this again? You know now that your aware of everything you need and be aware of?
This was sooo fun to watch!!!
You all did an amazing job! I don’t think I could do that, especially because of those spiders.
Also, if I skip meal, my blood sugar gets too low and I get very sick so I’d fail instantly if I didn’t have a food and water source lol
To make the plastic fence, Kara needed to lay the bottles horizontally rather than vertically, then she would have had more to surround the whole shelter.
That look that Sarah gives when she fist bumps at the end of the vlog is PRICELESS!! She’s awesome and I love how “real” she is on these videos she’s in!! Awesome!!!
I could not agree more! I was so excited Dusty and Sarah were joining in on this adventure. Team Sarah 😊
the face that sank a thousand ships ;)
Plus I think she may have been puking. If you look at the end right when they were celebrating the boat pulling up she’s bent over and Dusty is rubbing her back. Poor thing is probably like great….yay….. fist pump 😂 😝
Literally my mood all the time
This is a dream of mine aswell. If I was there (Ik surviving on a island like this is much harder than what I make it sound like) but I would genuinely take a bath if I was like kind of bored at that moment and not hungry or thirsty of course. That island is beautiful
You should please do another video like this this was so fun to watch
Amazing video!! I’ve been to Panama and it’s as beautiful as it seems! Totally recommend to go!
I am so jealous that you lived my dream.
By the way you guys are my absolute favourite youtubers.
Hey Kara and nate!
I love this video think this is so cool what u guys are doing!love that your brother and his wife joined u guys!
Y’all owe Dusty and Sara a luxurious vacay! You guys do a lot of things I want to try but this is extreme
this is the type of content i want to see
👍
For real 😂
Fair Enough
For sure
You should totally do more of those!!!
Well done guys, you are all Legends. love from UK
I watched whole video with no pause it’s so good hope u will do more😊
I would love to live on an island like you four did, especially with a lovely young lady.
My biggest question is how did you guys keep the camera charged?
I love that you guys always challenge yourselves! It shows that we are all capable of doing hard things!! I also love your attitudes!! My favorite role models! 😍
This all makes me so happy. Thank you 😊 💖
@Kara and Nate Why didn't you guys eat some of those crabs??
@Bee Double U i also need to know this!
@Kara and Nate Nate when you lost the fish you sounded just like Michael Scott from The Office LOL
Crabs are delicious! You guys are marvelous and I’m so thankful for your adventures!!
You guys seriously need your own tv show. ❤❤❤
I love this vlog so much I’ve watched it like 10 times since Saturday 😂😅
same i can watch this sooo many times this is so interesting
I love how they Didn't choose to bring anything only 1 item!! Thanks alot for making great content!
That kitchen explains how I was in the backyard of my grandmas mixing stuff and acting like it was food lol. But very good video, y’all are one of my favorite UAclipsrs .
You guys are soooo brave! I'd probably have freaked out with the crabs since day 1 😵😵
Loving the series!
The crabs sound terrifying 🤣
The crabs were definitely the worst part. I wonder why they didn't eat them? Probably a lot of work to prepare.
@Gabriel Traveler crabs are pretty easy to kill and eat, cause you can eat them raw but maybe it’s the type of crab I guess? I know some crabs are not considered edible
@Londer Land From what I've read in other comments those crabs were edible. Maybe they didn't know that, or else they were just creeped out by the whole process of catching, killing and eating them.
@Gabriel Traveler Ahhhh! Good point 😉
probably one of the most dangerous parts about this was getting sliced on the foot, infections can get really nasty really fast, the can be fatal too
I love how Kara said " I kind of want to eat him" That cracked me up. Love you guys!!!
Kara is such a vibe
I loved this!!! I personally think I would have set crab traps at night and eaten them! Boiled some of the saltwater to speed up the distilling process plus be able to cook the crab to eat! Coconut crab 😋 yum!
I’ve always wanted to survive for 24 hours out in the wild I’ve been like maybe I should watch some survival videos first and then go camping to see what it’s like and then start start my survival adventure😊😊😊😊😊 you inspired me😊😊😊😊
I love these videos with Dusty and Sarah! You guys have such a great group dynamic it really makes for an entertaining series of videos!! Good job to you all for getting through this as a team ❤️
I hope Dusty and Sarah are getting compensated for the "Kara and Nate show" 3mil viewers and using them to create content
i know this takes a long time to make and i love this stuff so PLEASE I NEED MORE ISLAND SURVIVAL
This survival challenge looks so hard and scary!!!!!! Hindsight is 20/20, but after watching this I would have made my one item a hammock to sleep in! I don't want to be around those crabs!
this was a great video and you guys tot me a lot about to never giving up and a lot of survival things so if i got in a situation i would know what to do so thank you for that and thank you for making great video's that can teach people things that they may not even ever learn .
Can we just respect these people doing real survival and surviving stuff here😂❤
I was curious if the “endless” crabs could ever become a reliable food source?
This might be my favorite episode ever. I absolutely LOVED this. I don't ever want to do it myself, but I loved watching you experience it. You ROCK!
I haven't read the other comments, so forgive me if I'm repeating a question, but.... couldn't you cook crab legs to eat? All in all, you guys are great, congratulations!
So the Daudin's vine snake you guys saw isn't fatal but can still cause pain if it bites you! HOWEVER, the Brazilian wandering spider can literally kill you, that was a close one, glad you guys stayed safe!
I love how every time dusty eats something he coughs after 😂
if possible could u do another one of these love it
Looks just like a normal holiday 👍
I'd have eaten ALL those pesky crabs. Haha. You guys rock! Love watching. 😀
Those are moon light crabs and are eatable! They have lots of meat you can eat! No idea why they didn't just cook and catch the crabs
hahaha i was thinking that too they could have been having crab feasts lol
@fue it took me until minute 31 of the video to realize exactly the same thing hahah
I came looking for this...from the first night I was thinking eat the crabs already
Right? How dense can you possibly be???
"Dream come true that I never want to have again!!" LOL!! you guys did awesome!! Thanks for sharing the adventure!
this was very entertaining, loved it!!
I love this! This was truly amazing that you guys did this. But I am wondering one thing though. Why didn't you just eat the crabs that were crawling all over you all night? Are they endangered or inedible or something?
