I think we can all agree that Steven He's way of saying "emotional damage" is so iconic at this point.
I’m now convinced that this isn’t just a Guideline, but a complete daily checklist for all parents, both new and veterans🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Because children don't have money, they can't think of a way to get out of the situation." still kills me every time
“It’s not in aisle 8.”
My parents did reverse grocery line a number of times. The flashbacks are constantly delivering extra Emotional Damage throughout my adult life.
That tool scene in the garage is my childhood in a nutshell. I used to just start panicking and crying in seconds....the thing I'd been sent for was never there. Or if it was , I knew it by a different name.
This man owns the word
I remember when my dad tried to teach me how to drive. He was kind at first, but every time I made a mistake shifting gears he would go mad and tell me I was going to wreck his car, then he would be calm again only to be angrier and angrier later. I just realized this caused me untold amounts of Emotional Damage, it's been 20 years since then and I still don't know how to drive. VERY EFFECTIVE.
Eres un ídolo
I'm not even Asian and I can definitely relate to most of this (especially the reverse grocery line) LMAO 🤣🤣🤣! Asian parents and single black moms are pretty similar.
The part where you are trying to follow dad’s self-contradicting “geometry word salad” instructions is 110% relatable for people whose fathers come from Eastern Europe LOL 😂 the most confusion happens when assembling IKEA furniture, while helping him do renovations, also moving big furniture in/out of tight spaces at awkward angles is recipe for a high decibel exchange of words punctuated by wide vocabulary of colourful curse words
"The unfairness adds extra flavor to the emotional damage"
I love how he doesn't even refer to his son as son but as his "failure", lol.
as someone with an asian mom, i can say that i did get emotional damage
It's funny how strict parents of different countries and races are so similar haha. I'm African, and can relate. However, "emotional damage" is stuck in my head and I can't stop laughing. Nice one bro...very effective 😁

Fun fact Steven's dad was probably a failure to Steven's grandad. It's every Asian kids legacy. To be a FAILURE.
