The PGA TOUR heads to Ohio for the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday, a Designated event at Muirfield Village Golf Club. Hosted by 18-time major champion Jack Nicklaus, it is one of the PGA TOUR’s longest-running events at the same venue, having debuted at Muirfield Village in 1976. Billy Horschel returns this week to defend his title from 2022. His four-stroke victory marked his seventh PGA TOUR win last time out. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler also heads to Muirfield Village after finishing tied for third in last week’s Charles Schwab Challenge. He finished just one stroke outside of the Emiliano Grillo and Adam Schenk playoff. Grillo and Schenk will also be competing this week, looking to bring their hot hands to the Memorial Tournament. FedExCup Standings leader Jon Rahm and world No. 3 Rory McIlroy will also be teeing it up at Muirfield Village. Rahm won the tournament in 2020 by three strokes. Two-time tournament champion Patrick Cantlay heads back to Ohio aiming to get a third win under his belt, and his close friend Xander Schauffele will aim to grab his first title here after four top-20 finishes in five starts at the Memorial Tournament. Jordan Spieth, Viktor Hovland, Matt Fitzpatrick and Justin Thomas will also look for their first wins at Nicklaus’ signature event.

So glad to see Hovland get a victory. He's becoming one of my favorite golfers - a guy from a Nordic country not known for producing pro golfers, who strikes the ball as well as anyone on tour, and carries himself with a quiet confidence but light hearted delight to be playing the game. He always seems to have a wry smile as he drives fairway after fairway, and green after green. Not robotic like Koepka, but not erratic like Rahm. Really hoping he grabs his first major soon.

I actually got the privilege to attend the Wednesday practice of this tournament this year; Hovland was not one of the many great golfers I got to see, but it was a super cool experience and him winning it is a super great feat as well. It was only a matter of time before Viktor got a win

Crazy schefler almost made the playoff. To score that low on a day like today was insane.
Yep. That 97% 3ft put Scottie missed early-on, cost him the play-off. Both Denny and Viktor were incredibly lucky (compared to others) to finish up at -7.
Not only that but he was last in the field in putting for a while lol that means his ball striking was freakin insane
@John Ettel Hovland wasnt lucky. Ridicilous. He should have had a much lower score too if he had more luck. He has no luck the few times he doesnt hit the fairways like others who hit way off the fairway and hit a tree or something and the ball rolls out to the firway again. Hovland has been so cloae the last 4-5 tournaments including two majors. Scheffler has putted poorly for some tournamenta now and thats part of the game..
@In cala’s mind I guess that 4-putt on the last hole at the Masters was a precursor of things to come. Putting is prone to highs and lows - look out once he gets a handle on this.
Schefler has a huge issue with his putting , was way ahead of the field tee to green but last in putting.

Great win for Victor...im thinking British open win for him!!Denny played great..what a puttter he is... he'll win soon enough.. Scottie is so consistent..if he has decent putting week he wins by 3 or 4 easy....and finally Rory....to be expected now...needs to get rid caddy and toughen up mentally...so much talent but hes way off winning another major..nearly 10 yrs now... all in all great test for these guys for couple weeks at LA country club!

Oh the pain!! Having to show not one but two missed putts in violation of the tour's strict policy of only showing made putts. They tried to make up for it by not showing Victor's missed putt in the playoff. Still, someone will be fired.

Debatable whether he's the GOAT, and his judgement is severely lacking elsewhere. I wouldn't give his 'wisdom' too much credibility.
@Rene Jean here we go 😒..well.. nobody's won more major championships than him and can't see that beating in next 20/30yrs at least..the guys getting old...as we all are..but I'm sure he still speaks sense and these modern guys still listen...so he has the upmost credibility from the golfing world!!do really here anyone bad mouthing the guy do you?Class act...with 18 majors 😉

12 and 15 he made the par putts but when he needed that same putt on 18 to win the tournament he missed, the difference between playing for something and playing for nothing! Pressure reveals the slightest of flaws!😊❤❤

They really need to get the clubs and ball to fly the distances of the 80s and 90s! 170 yard pw?? This has ruined the game and made golf more expensive. Building a new golf course is almost out of the question because of the land it takes to accommodate the clubs and ball! The average pw loft and length in 2023 is 35.50 to 36.00, Cleveland has a pw that is 39 degrees, which is 4 degrees stronger than in the 90s!
