Madeline khan was absolutely gorgeous. And she killed the part she played in History part 1

I am like a five year old on Christmas. That is how excited I am for this movie. My father showed me all of Brook's great works growing up, which is where my love for this brilliant director and comedian comes from.

It's going to be heavy handed going by the cast and this isn't a Mel Brooks series. They just gave him money for the brand name and that is it.
My dad loved Mel Brooks and we watched pretty much all of his movies together. He passed away at 46 in September of last year less than a week after his birthday. I wish I could watch this with him so much. I miss you dad

I know that feeling. I grew up with my dad watching Brooks' movies as well. He passed away 7 years ago in January just 6 days after MY birthday.
42-year-old here. I rewatched part 1 just yesterday with my mom, and explained to her how there wasn't a part 2, nor would there ever be one. Dying.
My siblings and I watched part one so much back in the day that the buttons literally fell off of our cable box, lol. I am ALL IN for part 2, been waiting over 40 years!
I don't know about this film, BUT I'm just beyond glad that the great Mel Brooks is still with us!!😁😁😁😁

I used to go over every year and sit with my dad during the holidays and we would watch the Original History Of The World Part 1, (while everyone else argued over football) and seeing my dad laugh so hard and quote those one-liners was such a good time! Dad, you always said that we needed more of this and you would wait forever…you’re 86 now and I’m coming over tomorrow and we are going to sit down and start watching the show. It’s time to create more memories! 😍
@sueque 63 honestly, watch the original ....the laughs are better by far. There were none in this one. Wanda Sykes is the ex. Producer. She kills everything.

Love history of the world part 1. That being said, this looks terrible. Looks like a bad parody of a Mel Brook's film. I guarantee you it will stay far away from actual edgy jokes too. I hate to say this, but I doubt Mel is able to be there during the writing

love that "everyone and their mother" is featured- across comedy spectrum - it's a tribute to Mel and hit or miss it fulfills his legacy: laugh at this heartbreaking insane world or else! this also satisfies a touch of my missing Kroll Show- maybe Bobby Bottleservice in SEASON 2?

I think he Darn well knows that the Calibre of this installment is NOT gonna be as Hysterical Dynamite as compared to some (most.. ...all ..) of his output from say.. ... Spaceballs and (richard) prior. But he's gonna do it anyway. Because the Conductor still has that touch. Even if some of his musicians cant read music or are off key. Lol
He's (often) off key too,. I might add. If not for Completely Different Reasons.
He (still) knows how to fight in the trenches. .. Even if the trenches are laughing. Or covered in blood.

I'm really looking forward to this. The trailer looks hilarious. I grew up going to see his movies in the theater. I saw Young Frankenstein, High Anxiet, Silent Movie, and Spaceballs when they came out. I'd watched The Producers numerous times at home with my family.

I hope they will do an edit of that first movie and take out the parts that are a bit... outdated and offensive to modern audiences. I would like to show it to my kids someday, but not as it existed back then
I remember the commercials for the original from when I was a kid and it wasn't until I was about 20 that I finally saw it.
Cautiously optimistic but I don't think Mr. Brooks is going to get the same creative license needed today

He's not. This is a man that worked with Richard Pryor, back when raunchy & slightly racist was deemed funny (and those movies still are funny). It's Mel, Wanda Sykes, Nick Kroll, & Ike Barinholtz writing. Never found Kroll funny, Sykes hasn't been funny in years, & the last time I laughed at Barinholtz he was still a cast member on MadTV. I've seen both trailers for this & found both unfunny. Not even a snort or chuckle. I hate being pessimistic especially about anything Brooks makes, but this... I feel like this is going to fall very flat.
I hope for this movie he keeps it just as raunchy as the first.

I so wish they did this 35 years ago. You just can't capture the vibe of that movie with today's style and cast.
