From the producers of Neighbors and the co-screenwriter of Crazy Rich Asians, JOY RIDE stars Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Oscar® nominee Stephanie Hsu, and Sabrina Wu. The hilarious and unapologetically explicit story of identity and self-discovery centers on four unlikely friends who embark on a once-in-a-lifetime international adventure. When Audrey’s (Ashley Park) business trip to Asia goes sideways, she enlists the aid of Lolo (Sherry Cola), her irreverent, childhood best friend who also happens to be a hot mess; Kat (Stephanie Hsu), her college friend turned Chinese soap star; and Deadeye (Sabrina Wu), Lolo’s eccentric cousin. Their no-holds-barred, epic experience becomes a journey of bonding, friendship, belonging, and wild debauchery that reveals the universal truth of what it means to know and love who you are.
Also starring Ronny Chieng (Crazy Rich Asians), Lori Tan Chinn (Awkwafina is Nora From Queens), David Denman (Greenland), Annie Mumolo (Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar), Desmond Chiam (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Alexander Hodge (Insecure), and Chris Pang (Crazy Rich Asians). Stephanie Hsu is very consistent, from Joy to Joy Ride.
Next up she’ll be in a remake of the “Joy” Luck Club. She has a lot of Joy being an actress. I’ll show myself out. 😂
If Stephanie is there, I'm watching
And she used to go for joy ride with Shang-Chi and Katie when they were young.
I'm willing bet the film was renamed "Joy Ride" following Hsu's breakout success. People will see this movie for her alone.
I can’t wait to see her in the third film of the saga
I see more American films with an Asian cast coming out in these recent years than all my years of living. This new rise of Asian representation just makes my heart so happy 😭❤️ I grew up on Chinese wuxia films so to see wuxia taking a comedic spin in an Asian American film is everything. I can’t wait for this movie. Ashley Park is incredible!
These are very very low budget films. Hollywood still isn't taking a bold chance with Asian folks.
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
@Elif You sound insecure.
i am enjoying it greatly. Just makes things feel more natural.
I watched this last night with my girls and we laughed, gasped, and cried! Such a good movie overall that covers a lot of asian representation, breaking stigmas, finding your identity, and the importance of friendships, all while keeping up with the comedy! Wish to see many more from the writers and directors!
YEAHHHH! Loved it. I saw it twice already. Seeing it a 3rd time today. Trying to find a show with a full-house. After seeing this, it made me realize I want a trilogy since we'll never have a sequel to Crazy Rich Asians.
This movie disappeared from theaters real fast…
@mikeh6084 I knowwwww. I couldn't believe it because I went back to see it for a 3rd time and it was GONE with a capital G. I can't believe it's available for streaming already in under 4 weeks at the cinemas. Oh, whataya think about my JOY RIDE drawings on my channel? Lemme know.
@ReviewJunkee on the four weeks, I wonder why… And yes you do have a nice artwork
This is one of the most fun films I've seen in a long time. Heart-warming, cute, sweet, sexy, hilarious, emotional, and powerful. INCREDIBLE cast. Thank you!!
I love how the little girl punched the bully in the beginning 😂
That's actually what asian parents need to teach to their kids 😁
Bullies talk tough until you punch them in the nose.
@Joe FeliceSo true
Not reality but cool for theatrics 😂😂😂
Saw it & loved it! Well-written, hilarious, touching, surprising... Gets all the Asian American and cross-cultural references down so well. I was so happy to see these actors/comedians get to go all out and do it well in this splashy movie. I plan to see it again!
Worst movie I walked out of
i agree, it was really funny, kinda sad and very gay so that’s a plus
This is exactly the movie I wanted Stephanie Hsu to star in next! Just be amazing and iconic! This movie looks hilarious 🎉
I clicked onto this trailer when I saw Stephanie Hsu's name involved in the title
She deserved the Oscar for EEAAO!
@Trell Gold ngl I love me some Jamie Lee Curtis but Stephanie Hsu was SOOOO much better and def should have won 🥰
Dang one more like and I hate them numbers 😂
Asian actors are really getting their moment these days. Well deserved.
2:28 from 4 producing white boys and Princess Leia's psycho drug dealing daughter from Booksmart, and Asian stereotypes sprinkled through out the movie. Can't wait to see it!
They've gotten from representation in the 90s than currently relatively speaking remember Margaret chos show
Asian is the new black.
@Mohd Khairul It appears so.
This looks hilarious. Picking up major Girls Trip vibes. Plus I'll see anything Stephanie Hsu's in at this point.
She's on fire. If they market this right this could have hangover potential
I was thinking the same! Hope it's really good when it's out ❤
This is more like The Hangover but we actually see them all dru/gged up leading to the hangover.
Haven't been this hyped for a movie in a long time! Stephanie Hsu is a star in the making.
I am absolutely loving these comedy movies in 2023! Also congrats to Doechii for having her song "Crazy" featured in this trailer!
No taste
Yesss love love love doechii
Not as edgy as in the 2000s
@repentandbelieveinJesusChrist2 repent to your moms house
This movie was such a fun experience in theaters, everyone was laughing! 😂
2:26 "It's not a bop it, it's my asshole." That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you follow up an Academy Award nomination
@Howard Longsden Honestly, both work.
@Gerritt Lighthart Ohhh, I heard bop it cause of the "push, pull, twist it" line preceding it lol
@Howard Longsden subtitles say Bop it
I thought she said “puppet” 😂
I was waiting to see what she did next, and she did not disappoint
I'll watch anything with Stephanie Hsu in it. I love her! Can't wait for this.
Can’t wait to see this! This female ensemble is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Love this cast already! Yes to more Asian American films and Asian American lead actors!!
As a Japanese-Brazilian, I feel more represented watching films by Asian-Americans than by native Asians. we have struggled with both cultures.
Did you see the movie yet? I didn't expect 2 enjoy it as much as I did. Saw it twice already and going back again today. I just need 2 see it in a full-house. These raunchy comedies are best enjoyed with strangers.
Wow, such a great comedy. Good timing with all kinds of oops, ouch, and very intense slap stick situations. The group gets into trouble a lot, i mean real big troubles, LoL! Ashley, Sherry Stephanie and Sabrina (very funny chic) got my and my friends laughing away. I was hoping for a sequel or Part 2... maybe, you never know. Maybe they can try to conquer Climate Change, or the Indigenous cause
I need this now, IT LOOKS HILARIOUS AF 😂 I love it already 👏❤
Just finished watching it. It's legitimately a great time. They left the best parts out of the trailer. Highly recommend it!
Good to hear, thanks!
Where did you see it?
@Blark Swanthe theater duh
Haha not sure if we’re on the same page but I was so surprised about the tattoo scene🤣🤣 it was unexpected
@jeroen9641 if you didn’t like hangover, bridesmaids, and the like then this movie isn’t for you 🤷♀️ b
Thought it looked good to check out, and then the bop it line happened, and I couldn't help myself. I busted out laughing uncontrollably. I'm definitely seeing this movie now 🤣👏🏼🤣
As an African American I so appreciated this movie. It was fuckin hilarious! I laughed the whole time. I'm here for an all Asian cast! They need to bring more of these - all Asian, All South Asian, All Indegenous casts. Here for it - it's not the same narrative all the time 👍🏾👍🏾
Love the fact that Asian movies and entertainment are becoming huge everywhere. I'm excited to see the representation. This movie is going to be hilarious. I'm excited 😊
Me too. I love how the scene portrayed the Anti-White Racist false assumption that white people think all Asians are not from the USA. The directors of course would never substitute the white family with a black family and portray them as racists and bigots, even though black on Asian crime is off the charts in America!
Me too, I'm so happy
Oh yeah, especially since the movie studios are owned by the Chinese, what's so surprising? 😂
Becoming? They always were. Ever hear of Bruce Lee? Jackie Chan? John Woo? Ang Lee?
Not huge everywhere.
Watched it last night at Cineworld's secret screening. This film is outrageous, and SO funny! Everyone in the room was laughing. I was worried it would just be full of 'haha Chinese people, haha white people' jokes and just overall cringe but it wasn't. The jokes were vulgar as hell but if you're into that stuff then go and see it because it was awesome.
I can’t wait to see this! I love that there is more Asian representation in films and media in America. I’m so excited for this! 💚
This movie is fantastic! So funny. Incredible writing and acting. Run to theaters to see it!
Holy heck this cast is GOLD!!! Ashley Park, Stephanie Hsu, Sherry Cola, comedic GOLD!
Everyone was fantastic, but I feel Stephanie Hsu stole the show. Her comedic facil expressions are priceless. She should just keep doing comedy. Did you watch it yet?❤
Just saw this and it was freaking AMAZING, I love every moment of it. Very emotional experience honestly, rolle coaster of emotions and I am just so glad that I watched it out of curiosity. I haven't even seen the trailer, I just pressed the movie cuz it the cover looks dope and I AM FREAKING GLAD I DID. Best choice I did this day, watch it y'all, totally recommend.
Ps. It would be better to watch it with friends who haven't seen the movie. I kept thinking how great of an experience it would be to watch this with my friends but sadly I couldn't, if u wanna watch it alone that's also great. I watched it alone and I had so much fun, I just think it would be double fun to watch it with loved ones who matches your vibe.
just came back from watching it and it was absolutely hilarious, so many laugh out loud moments man it was such an experience
I watched this today and loved it. It was funny and heartwarming all in one movie. I can’t wait to see it again soon
This looks AMAZING. Can not wait. I MEAN I DIDNT EXPECT THIS TO BE THIS GOOD
Just watched a preview here in the UK tonight, all I can say it's got everything that I can relate to as a South Asian, funny as hell, all the girls are super funny and super cute too 😊 love the representation of the South Asian in a very inclusive scene! ❤😂👍🏽
Wow, South Asian. That really says a lot considering all the women characters are East Asian. It shows how universal this experience is with people of Asian descent across the board.
This looks hilariously promising. I just hope I didn't see the best parts already. There's something to be said about not giving away everything in a trailer.
This movie is funny as hell. Got a chance to see a preview and I’m gonna go see it again. Had me out of the seat laughing 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Omg!!!! Yes!!!❤ Being an adoptee in an orphanage from Asia (never knowing my birth family)…and being in now in the United States, it is so amazing to see the Asian American and Pacific Islander Community represented! 😊
OMG! I totally agree. This movie was phenomenal. Did you like it? I feel the box office has been a letdown, and disappointed we'll never get the 2 Crazy Rich Asians sequel. Can u believe it's been over 5 years since the original?
No puedo esperar más tiempo ❤❤❤ hahahaha qué divertida será, me encanta todo el cast
Seeing this day one! Been waiting to see it a long time! Looks hilarious and an instant classic!
It's been a minute since we've had a really good comedy. Definitely looking forward to this 👍
saw it, funny, outrageous, but somehow made me cried for a bit. It's well written.
Me toooo! I didn't expect an emotional connection from the movie. I saw it in a packed house. A lot of people in the audience were crying during that 3rd act moment. I thought this was so well done. I want a trilogy and an Unrated/director's CUT 4 the blu-ray release. Oh, and a TRILOGY!
Just saw this movie at home... wished I would've saw it in theaters. Movie was too funny, hope they make another!
I love this can't wait to watch
with Academy Awards nominee Stephanie Hsu.. incredible
The white kid’s entrance out of nowhere, the unconvincing delivery of his lines, and the look on his face had me dying.
This and the new Jennifer Lawrence movie. We need more stuff like this. I literally laughed throughout the trailer
Stephanie Hsu on her way to becoming a Hollywood legend.
This movie is hands down the most entertaining of the year. Brilliantly written! It’s the most millennial modern day movie!
This looks so FREAKING AWESOME!!!! I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE IT!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Can’t wait to watch! Glad to see more Asian movies, it’s about time 🎉😊
I love Ashley Park... She's takin' more serious action post Emily in Paris.. Good for her!! You go gurrrrlll!!
I feel so happy Asian actors getting opportunities... Much love ❤ and Stephanie hsu is a diva ❤
Just saw it, it lived up to the trailer! So funny and unexpectedly touching too
audrey's birth mother, should be given an nominee award in her 2 minute appearance. that right there was authentic.
I would have liked to see the film re-edited into a short film by just staring the scene with Audrey at the cemetery until the end of the mother's video message. That would definitely get Oscar nominated for short film.
I enjoyed this movie so much. Definitely worth it 😂
I cannot wait to see this. This trailer has me dying of laughter.
i watched this movie like 5 times i love it and just noticed a plot hole how the parents look the same when they were kids to when they were adults ahaha
It's funny because the actors are old enough to be parents to Ashley Park and Sherry Cola. They did a great job with the makeup to look younger.
I watch the trailer for this like once a week, and I’m ready for it.
0:55 - 0:58 Stephanie Hsu plays a fierce character so well. Look at her eyes after the slap
This looks really funny but also looks like it has a heartwarming story.
I can’t wait to see this! I miss those raunchy kind of comedies. 😁
Besides from the asshole joke that imho is a bit too much, it looks very interesting !
A fun and absurd plot that can easily create lot of different situations, with the right touch of introspection and search of identity, and the cast seems to have the good energy and chemistry to work well together.
And as everybody already said, sooo happy with these new wave of Asian representation post EEAAO ♥
Don't know if you ended up seeing it already, but without giving anything away, you might want to skip this one if that bothered you.
Just watched the movie IT'S HILARIOUS! And I cried omg
"F-CK YOU!" "You wanna be best friends?" Best interaction ever
Two Broadway stars in one movie?! Hell yes!
Besides Park, who is the other?
@rowelle Stephanie Hsu. She gained mainstream fame with Everything Everywhere All At Once but was on Broadway before that. She originated the roles of Christine in "Be More Chill" and was the voice for Karen the computer in the "SpongeBob Musical".
Daaamn ! Stephanie Hsu's on fire right now !!!
Love it ! Great timing to drop that trailer, hot on EEAAO's meteoric Oscars trail.
I've seen this trailer god knows how Many times attached to Damn near every movie other then Mario and I'm still in stitches every single time and laughing harder then I've laughed in awhile at comedies and it's always the Trailer outside of The Little Mermaid that gets the biggest Pop from my audiences.
This looks like it’s gonna be sooo funny and original!!
Ummm, I don’t know how this is the first I’m hearing of this. I am 1000% in for this. Can’t wait.
Lol, I read the title and initially thought it’s a multi dimensional verse with happy Joy / Jubu Tupaki.
The casts seem to have chemistry. Excited to see Stephanie Hsu in theater again 😆
I was looking for this comment! Thought the same thing lol
This movie would have came out last year under a different title but EEAAO was winning awards like mad that they moved it to summer 2023
FINALLY! a fresh female-led ensemble comedy!!
Stephanie in the movie is already comedy gold
I watched this and it was so funny lol. It was a great time watching it with my siblings HAHA
just watched it. that train scene was so funny, got me laughing so hard 😭
As an Asian American, I am appalled and shocked at how accurate they got life as an Asian American like in sticky situations😮
This looks incredible 😂 I can't wait to see it
A life with more Stephanie Hsu is a good life.
We should see more movies where Asians dont take themselves too seriously.. we are normal ppl too like every other folk.. look forward to it!!
This movie was fantastic 🔥
I'm so happy for Ashley Park
Kkkkkkkk amei❤❤❤❤ que tudoooo obrigada gente
So good--- laughed for DAYS!!
I’m absolutely gonna watch this. It looks so hilarious
LMAO, I was fully expecting a cheesy, feel-good movie abt finding yourself and all that, and then it took SUCH a turn. 0 to 100 real quick. I’m not mad tho, this looks like so much fun
That lil girl punching that bully kid in the face won me over. I'll go watch it!
❤🎉 love Ashley Park, can't wait for this film 🎉 looks really good 👍
I was smiling throughout the whole film 😃😃😃
That 5 seconds from 0:19 to 0:24 is going to be the great single scene in any movie in 2023.
Looks amazing!!! Can’t wait to see it.
My sister and I watched this and it was so funny! The humor was kind of like Bridesmaids but less cringey and more empowered. Don’t watch this with kids though, it gets really raunchy.
Movie is hilarious. Great actresses and story is funny and heartwarming. ❤❤❤❤❤
Hilarious! I want to see it on streaming now.
Stephanie Hsu getting an Oscar nomination for this movie.
Me before: Im pretty sure that this is gonna be one of thoses dramatic
Me after :Oh the creator of crazy rich asians made this
