Would love to hear your thoughts on the trade. And please subscribe if you haven't!
@Curtis Behnke Yes I agree, Nets sounds like a toxic organization or else at least 1 star out of the big 3 would have wanted to stay. We don't know what happening behind the scenes, but I favor Kyrie just from own personal business experiences.
Hard to say because we don't know what's happening behind the scenes. Yes, Kyrie is the common denominator, but this is a business and he needs to do what is best for himself.
If Brunson made sense going to NY, it's ridiculous why Kyrie didn't work in Brooklyn.
@dscott Yeah it is a genius FINANCIAL move, but I'm still concerned and I know I should try to be more confident, but either way they aren't probably going to make the finals, and they most definitely aren't winning it. They need one more person which is why I think the brunson thing was so detrimental to them.
JJ the only NBA player that is still connected, giving it to them raw, and I respect it
Was he raw with Ben Simmons?

Kyrie Irving becomes Basketball's MEL GIBSON. Google what happen to mel gibson. He was number 1 star and they never let him act in big movies.I support Kyrie Irving now. Never heard of him until now. Yes i dont watch basketball after 1998.
A lot of people love JJ. He speaks nothing but truth and plays no sides. And he’s a DUKE.. loves him when I was in HS every time we shoot the 3 we would say Redick🔥🔥🔥💯💯
Let's go Cavs!!!
As a Mavs fan, I’m really excited to see how this plays out. Only thing is I want the franchise to prioritize Luka, which they seem to be doing.
@Wayne tables what team has he ruined cause ironically every team he has left has gotten better since he left
lmao kyrie will cause Cuban to sell the Mavs within 6 months of stepping foot on the floor and he will stop at nothing less. the greatest team obliterator to ever lace em' up
Good luck bro. From a Nets fan, good luck. Pretty sure Kyrie walks to either the Lakers or Suns in a few months
You do understand Kyrie is a nut.
They are mark cuban is never gonna turn his back on him imo
Tommy is the man. His ownership on this podcast over the years has really earned my respect to where i value his opinion
We need a lebron interview jj
@TheNeutralizer27 Lebron is too big for JJs podcast lmao
@JJ Redick get on it ! Please! We need this

Love this pod always had so much respect for JJ , but Tommy the more i listen to you the more I realize what a treasure you are ! Great job , I loved the line most guys just wanna hoop !!!
Tommy has come from being a basketbal fan to a basketball analyst. That takes dedication and a lot of study. Respect!
@Henry damn, kinda thought Tommy used to play college ball or something. So he's just JJ's homie?
True tommy is a gem. His job is harder than it seems, to be basically a normal dude in a convo between 2 NBA players is not easy
I understand the Boston point but as a fan of the Celtics there was a 4 year gap where they were mediocre to good, and it's not like they've won a title yet. Yes, now they're better than they ever were with Kyrie but it was looking realll iffy for a minute. Overall I'm extremely happy with where the Celtics are obvi, but subtracting Kyrie did not immediately make us a contender or anything.
@Ike Jon-Ubabuco if hayward and kyrie didnt get injured that first year, that team wouldve functioned way different from the next year.
Hayward is gonna feel some type about his role because he was an all star, kyrie is gonna feel some type of way because he was there to be the first option and leader and now JT and JB feel some type of way because they were 1 game away from the finals. They were all competing against eachother instead of competing with eachother.
Let's talk about it. Like you said it's not like they won a chip. Are they better without KY?
@James Worthy yeah no. The celtics with IT were just as much of a title contender as the 2015 hawks. Youre never gonna win anything with IT as your first option.
@baller0724 The situation is too nuanced to only look at results. They were one of the best teams without hayward untill kyrie got injured and had season ending surgery. The young guys had 0 pressure. No one would care if the celtics didnt make the playoffs, because they lost hayward and kyrie. Pressure is hugely underestimated what influence it has on players, its what seperates great players from the rest. The 2nd year was a recipe for disaster. Kyrie played like he wanted to be the leader and first option while JB and JT played like they didnt need kyrie and hayward.
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ ok joe mazzulla
NETS are still in good shape, getting back 2 guys who can start on a lot of teams, hopefully they makes some moves before the deadline
I could see them win a playoff round this year
I'm here from the future and you won't believe this
@Judgedsafe195 lmao, my main point was they didn’t have to but yeah ig they decided to
@Josh yeah you’re right…no way they are trading away KD 😂
When it’s all said and done Kyrie is gonna have a hell of a story to tell
He is to incompetent to tell it.
@Mark Williams RIGHT! He doesn’t post himself and ask to be a headline. The media does it to him! He just doesn’t believe in being a sheep
@Banksy 🚫🧢
@brownX_KMD 🧢🧢🧢
Love theses types of vids. Hearing actual level headed nba oldheads give there opinions is great.
JJ isn't a oldhead lol. What would you call KG or Barkley then? JJ should still be playing if it wasn't for his achilles
*their
Old heads? Is this a joke? 🤣
@Plus Sign bruh Lebron is the definition of an old head what you talking about
Who said people need to be shouting at each other to make sports debates entertaining? Absolutely enjoyed this incredibly calm and insightful conversation.
Good post like always but another issue is really interesting that so far was not really addressed much by anybody: Would be good to hear how they will make it work. What plays do they run? How do they share the ball? 2 guys that need the ball and have the ball a lot and penetrate and are not used to catch and shoot etc. Obviously Doncic is a hell smart player that played under different circumstances and in different roles with different sytems and co-players in Europe so guess he can adjust but it will still take Kyrie to also adjust. Not sure the egos work, not sure 2 ball--dominat guys work. SD and Powell worked in combination with Luka. The off-court stuff ill leave aside with Kyrie and also if its worth it considering the risk that Kyrie will not sign an extension with Dallas - in that case Dallas is fukced. I think actually a great catch and shoot guy or big man would have made much more sense for Dallas but yeah if it works like LBJ and Kyrie then thats a an ingenius move but LBJ and what he was then is still different from Luka and also Kyrie now is different personality and maybe so to say authoritywise. Anyways would be glad if you could go a bit in depth how you think it will work and play out on the court
On the Mavs not paying Brunson, obviously no idea what went on internally for the Mavs and how much they wanted or may have undervalued him...but the Knicks literally broke the rules to get him so not sure it is entirely fair to blame the Mavs for losing him.
@Ryan Muller tldr. I already know the details around the brunson situation quite well, so there's not point trying to convince me that the mavs did not bungle that situation. And this move to get kyrie is an act of desperation by the mavs to keep luka somewhat content, because we all know he's frustrated with this team rightfully so. Could it work out? Sure but I am skeptical. And unfortunately it does seem like a rental, a really short rental at that.
@Baltej Bains My apologies - I did get something slightly off there. I was recalling from an article I read at the time that presented it as though Brunson couldn't be traded if he got extended. Having done some more reading now, there was no rule prohibiting the trade. However, there was the so-called "poison pill" clause the kicks in when you have a player who signs an extension to their rookie contract but hasn't yet started the extension. When trading such a player, the team receiving the player treats their salary as being the average of the current and extended salaries. The team sending the player, however, just treats the player as worth their current salary. That means that the receiving team basically has to have cap space or a sufficiently large trade exception for the trade to proceed, or a third team with one of those needs to get involved. So, extending Brunson wouldn't have made it impossible to trade him, but it would have dramatically narrowed the number of potential trade partners. In the end, extending Brunson would have made it nearly impossible to use him as a trade asset, hence justifying delaying signing him to an extension until after the deadline if you didn't think the team was already good enough to contend.
The Mavs did offer him an extension after the deadline, but by that point Brunson decided to go to free agency and not sign the extension. Can I understand him being annoyed with the team not committing to him and exploring trading him? Sure. But, had he still wanted the same extension available before the deadline after the deadline, the extension was there. Brunson changed his mind about the extension, and ultimately then decided to sign with the Knicks before even talking to the Mavs in free agency.
I'm not saying I like the outcome. That said, I can imagine the world where, if I'm sitting in Dallas' front office, I make the same decisions they do around Brunson. I look at my roster going into the trade deadline, I see the possibility of packaging a great young asset with some salary (e.g. THJ) to swing a major upgrade, and I don't want to dramatically restrict my trade options for that package until I explore what's on offer. Then, after the deadline, when said player no longer wants that deal, the only option left is to try to convince him in free agency. Free agency arrives, the player leaves without even having a meeting with you, and there's not much else you can do but try to pick up the pieces.
Now, to be clear, I don't think this front office is faultless. The McGee signing was atrocious - maybe I could have understood it as a 1 year + team option or partially guaranteed second year, but 3 years for a guy his age filling a role that the NBA has been drifting away from is a terrible move. But, when it comes to Brunson, unless they had some sense that he might not want an extension after the deadline if he wasn't offered it beforehand, I think they made reasonable moves that just ended badly (similar to Brooklyn's current situation - it was worth a shot, it just didn't work).
I also think Mavs respected the fact that Brunson wanted to be in NYC with his Dad.
I mean yeah the Knicks talked to him a little early and broke the rules. But I think its clear as day he wanted to go to the Knicks. So I don't think the tampering really made a difference.
@Ryan Muller Yes he could be traded after signing an extension. No rules prohibit this. Also, they coulda gave him the extension after the trade deadline last season. No rules prohibit that either. A 4 year 55 mil contract made sense for a rookie guard that showed he could play next to luka, and was one of the most efficient guards from the field in his last 2 seasons with the mavs. The upside was clearly there, and the risk was negligible for such a cheap contract extension. They bungled that situation. Now they made a desperate move to get kyrie cuz luka is frustrated with this team.
Look back to 2022, with Brunson Luka was able to post up. That was what he added last year with Brunson gone he couldn’t do that. With Kyrie that variety is back on the table.
We also has DFS and spencer last year
@PingPing true i think he meant he was getting more post entry passes with Brunson rather than post ups in general
But the thing is when the help defense comes, he could not pass it to someone who can make their own shots. Brunson and kyrie are bucket getters. As long that luka draw the defense from those post-ups, kyrie would find a way to score much easier than luka’s teammates right now who could not make their own shots even if their life is depending on it lol.
Luka has been posting up mote this season. High efficiency too
actually statistocally luka posts up way more this season than last year
Man,when i look at Dinwiddie i remember that game 7 vs Suns in Phoenix,, Mavs should've show more love to that man, he always plays at his best
@YungChumpagne sus af
He’s good but he was really inconsistent man
Totally agree.
To your point, I think it says a lot that Nets had other deals on the table and chose to get Dinwiddie back.
He was a big piece of the culture that they were trying to build and they know what they are getting with him.
@Akshay Kumar Honestly they will probably give it to J Green, but they are going to have to get someone else as backup
Loving the podcast lately. The quality of your analysis has been 🤌
@Lionel Grisbane prob chef kisses
Hand looks like ball cup, was that your intention?
A buddy of mine told me about your podcast and that I need to listen to the Joakim interview (I did, it was amazing!) and I gotta say, your commentary is amazing. I'm very impressed, a little surprised. You're better at interviewing athletes and discussing sports than most main stream sports media. You also seem to be able to humanize these athletes in ways where we know they feel comfortable talking to you. Amazing work sir, you were a great shooter, but possibly an even better journalist/podcaster.
as a European Mavericks fan, this trade is absolutely amazing.
Luka finally gets some help.
Yes we lost DSF but we still can go get a defensive player.
Kyrie > Dinwiddie (Dinwiddie will be missed tho)
And I believe the Kyrie drama is going down, plus I know about the flight risk but honestly who would want to play with Ben Simmons when he is making the same money as you with 7ppg? damn
I want a JJ jersey
@Jay PPP I hope so. I hate globalists.
@The Average Man he literally demanding trades, idk why y’all acting like teams just getting rid of Kyrie because they want to lmao
@Jay PPP We'll see. These guys are totally incentivised by the NBA to be as hateful to the anti global agenda as they wish.
On the other side, this Cam Thomas guy looks like a future superstar.
@aron gortman pretty sure he'll be told to drop that right quick lol
I’m excited to see what happens. Luka has never had a player that draws as much defensive attention as Kyrie. He will feast.
Always nice that to hear (besides the overall topic) that Maxi gets some praise. He's so underrated especially on the defensive part of the floor.
Harden and Kyrie did work when they moved Kyrie to SG
It's not working
It didnt work as they didnt win anything you guys think stats mean everything its about chips not stats numbers get u into the hof but its about chips not stats
@Banksy harden left Brooklyn last year what are you 12
@Ryan lex This is a coach's decision, where each one starts. My comment on that filth Cuban was about the moves he has to make until September, independently from Kyrie, to surround Luka with a championship roster. Enough is enough!! Luka-Wood ended up a poor man's Fox-Sabonis duo...
JJ's insight is so refreshing. Definitely the greatest player to analyst transition ever... I think the on court product for Dallas will be absolutely beautiful for the rest of the season with Kyrie and Luka but it's unlikely it'll last long enough given Kyrie's history of Kamakazing every organization he's been on to last beyond this year...
Always have had much respect for JJ. He’s a class act all the way around.
I think it worked with Bron because he likes to defer. Bron is a great cutter, he likes to pass and play off ball, but he can also be ball dominant when he wants to and get into some iso situations. If that’s not a guy’s game or he doesn’t want to be in that role, I think it’s going to be tough for Kyrie to play with them.
Luka learned to play ball in europe, he definitly knows how to play Team Basketball. It was just not asked of him in Dallas so far.. Up untill now their offensive gameplan was solely centred around him just doing his thing.
Exactly 💯
You know ball
The Lakers offered Brooklyn a trade package containing Russell Westbrook and two first-round picks in 2027 and ’29 for Irving. However, the Nets informed the Lakers that in order for a trade to be consummated, Brooklyn wanted Austin Reaves and Max Christie, as well as pick swaps on top of the original trade compensation package of Westbrook and two first-round picks. The trade we could made in summer. They didn't make abs price went up. This time they didn't make trade because of Austin Reeves and Max Christie. Rob Pelinka didn't want to make the trade for real
Great point on Maxi's importance on defense, JJ.
As a Mavs fan, I will miss the hell out of Doe Doe though. I thought he had a chance to finish his career as a Mav.
Great video, love your insight/opinion guys 🏀🙏🏼 Keep it up !!
I think nets made this trade so quick so they can make another move (as well as wanting to be done w him). Last year we were unable to make another move after harden and simmons deal as there was far less time between deal and deadline
As of now. Can make serious argument nets have best defensive starting 5 in NBA.
Ben, royce, DFS, kd, clax
This season been such a rollercoaster and we haven't even touched the All-Star break yet.
For some reason, I wasn't expecting JJ to take the stance that he did on Kyrie as vehemently as he did, but I'm glad he did.
i think this will work short term because kyrie is a scorer, and luca is a great passer so luca number smight go down but it might work..luca just has to pull it back a bit, but just defensively they might be really bad
JJ is right in terms of guys being devoted to basketball and being disappointed. however, i’m not sure the broken relationship between Kyrie and the organization applies here. Kyrie loves hoops, we know that, but Kyrie felt slighted for whatever reason. hard to only care about just hoops when there’s so many politics that are involved as well.
It's so hard to know how to feel as a Mavericks fan we just got a top-15 player to help Luka Doncic try to win a title but is this the one we wanted. I understand that he's physically the best player available in this year's and from just a winning losing perspective he'll probably end up helping the team but for how long? I know that it clears up a ton of cap space if he walks next year but tons of teams have had cap space and nothing to spend it on. In the player empowerment era there's no way to know that just having the money will get a guy to come to your town this could go from Lucca with a pretty good team to Luka having to be like Steph Curry was when everybody was injured 1 star in a bunch of Mid or worse players. That's if he walks and they have all that money but there's nobody who wants to come to Dallas. It's not necessarily an easy thing to get somebody to come and play on a team where one guy dominates the ball so much I think the Mavericks will have a rough week or two and then they'll be as good as anybody in the league for a while. But unless there's more moves coming this is a pretty thin team. It was already a pretty and now they've lost Dorian finney-smith and some draft I don't count Spencer has lost because Kyrie makes up for that. I just would rather have any other top 20 guy than Kyrie besides maybe James harden who has the same attitude about team basketball with less politics.
Yea our team is currently a glass cannon, now quite literally all offense and no defense. Which means Luka and Kyrie have to work 100% of the time because teams will be able to get whatever they want.
Offensively Luka can play very unselfishly and both can play catch and shoot. I think with their offensive skill set they can figure it out. Will definitely miss Dorian Finney-Smith locking up the best player we’re facing.
Luka and Kyrie will be crazy offensively, I don't even worry about the ball dominant thing. The thing they'll have to figure out is defense
@ThickRick can they switch 1-5? i'm new to mavs I watched their highlight. it looks like they are quick and can gaurd 1-5. if they can copy brooklyn switching defense they will be good defensively.
@Leoreo Ibardo kleber been out and will be out for the forseeable future
@leoreoibardo9294 depends which version you get of both players really
@ThickRick is powell and kleber bad?
They will avg about 125 PPG but give up bout 127 PPG
But it's gonna be amazing to watch but painful to be a fan
I honestly think most Texans won’t have a problem with the issues that Kyrie speaks about. We’ll see how Luka and Kyrie mesh on the court.
@Tommy, Harden and Kyrie actually played really well together. Nets went 26-9 when both of them played. Their issues were not on the court.
Not a basketball fan but i love the breakdown n how simple it is u speak about basketball.
The problem with jalen Brunson is Mavs never used him right and a lot of it is with luka and having the ball so much ,but I been said if he’s used right that’s the co star and you keep those role players
I think the trade is an absolute win for brooklyn. They get 2 players that can replace kyrie’s scoring output together, improve perimeter defense, open up $7 million, get 3 picks, and they have an open roster spot to bring someone else in, all while getting rid of a head case
Harden n Kyrie actually fit really well on the court
@Terrence Brantley so what ? Lol that’s one game and you were depending on kyrie who’s literally been hurt every postseason run since he left Cleveland ?
@ninerempire well then one of the worst defenses of all time was up 50 in vs the champion bucks so I guess you choose what you want to care about
This isn't really as bad a fit as people are trying to make it out to be, everyone's been complaining about Dallas not having a legit 2nd option for so long, and they now have that with Kyrie who is legit one of the best shotcreators in basketball. The real problem lies on the defensive end, Dallas just lost Finney Smith who's prolly the only guy on their team playing good defense, they gotta address their defensive issues if they are really serious about contending.
@Terrence Brantleyand one of the worst defenses of all time as well
Brunson and Luka worked well, so it is a fit.
Good trade for the Nets. Especially if they aren't done. If they could flip Joe Harris for a younger combo guard that fits what they want to do defensively it could be a great for them. If they move Joe and Ben for a #2 scoring option...even better.
It happened quickly because Sean Marks have done his job. This trade did not happen in just 48 hrs. The process probably started last summer., reaching out to teams which players are available, etc. Don’t be surprised if he has something in the event KD push for another request.
Correct me if I am wrong but why Kyrie should not ask for max contract?! He is the closer in the team, top 5 clutch players in NBA, top 5 pg ever, best handler ever, best finisher off the glass ever, a champion and a real FMVP. Is it because he missed some games this year and last year with NO FAULT on his behalf?! Banning him from games for comments on a documentary and being unvaxed is NOT a basketball issue and it's on the Nets. It's sad that 99% of media (including jj) and many (stupid) fans don't want to admit it.
I think it's time for those 15 points in 22 minutes every Tuesday on the Mavs, JJ
@Josh Rankert I know, he's still washed.
@4800 Washington he’s making a reference from the Darius Garland episode lol
he washed.
I actually am surprised he didn't try to complete a title run with Brooklyn this season and just request for a trade after then, I feel like that would've negated the backlash and even further his trade value.
But maybe I'm missing a detail about why the trade had to happen now. If so, let me know why 👇
i think the mavs realized they really missed brunson and were looking for a brunson upgrade but it's hard to know if they truly got that with kyrie
i keep seeing people being pessimistic saying it won’t work cause luka is too ball dominant.. yall forgot that he’s their only savior that’s why he has the ball so much (mavs are 0-7 without him and 28-19 when playing)
and luka plays for the slovenia squad, he’s a great off ball player
having kai as a ball handler is actually a + for luka
@Gregor Drizzle wing spot on 😀
@Wendigo sdfgwsedrfbecause he’s white and European bro. Luka had critics in the nba before he was even born 😂😂
People always talk about Luka being so ball dominant when Giannis leads NBA in usage rate with 38.6 Luka is 2nd with 38.3 Embiid is 3rd with 37.7 and Embiid is a center and has Harden Giannis PF and have Jrue... Nobody ever talks about Embiid and Giannis being so ball dominant only about Luka. And Embiid last season had higher usage than Luka for most of the season but finished close 2nd in usage rate
We need a Kyrie interview. Too much blogs speaking on him it’s time for him to speak for himself now
Even if Kyrie does speak on his behalf people still gone bash and blame him.
Facts
@Subramanian JakulparatiHe don’t do interviews because he ain’t got to explain his self
He doesn't have interview cause he got no excuses bout his behaviour
thanks guys. this was the best objective discussion in the media about ky and the trade so far.
Respectfully, as a rockets fan i couldn’t be happier. Can’t wait for those pick swaps.
@Parrit last thing I was expecting at midnight lmao
Those swaps are gonna be useless considering the rockets will be in the lottery for the next 10 years
@Sports EntertainerYou saying that like he isn’t on the books for another 4 years 😂
@Caamm he gonna leave
Anyone who ever had a problem with player empowerment was not really angry about the LBJ-Wade-Bosh Heat teams. We were all really just jealous of that!
What people were dreading was the Brooklyn Nets- an organization held hostage by three all-stars who play when they want and will demand a trade at anytime. Look at the “firepower” and talent this team had!! Look at what it got them!
Thanks JJ for the show.... Is funny how some former players they go to sports channels and ignore that fact. Kyrie doesn't want to play he wants to get paid.
As a Kyrie fan (OF HIS BASKETBALL SKILLS) The dude is a Diva... LeBron was literally perfect for him. Kept him on a leash and they had such a bond. Hopefully Luka can keep KY reeled in...
Lol
Him and Luke the Don will be alright. The West isn’t to strong
I love ur interviews .. fun entertaining and very intellectual about the sport and the men behind the game
his teammates love him and ride with him no matter what picture the media tries to paint.
The reaction I was waiting for all day😆
I would say the harden and Kyrie connection worked out well. The played well together tbh
JJ the Legend🔥
@JJ Redick Nah JJ. We all know the truth. You're transforming the media from within. Keep calling people out for their cold takes. Never stop keeping it real.
@JJ Redick lol
@JJ Redick who on the Toronto raptors do you you think moves on and for what great vid 👍
You are the legend, Kenyon
Kyrie and Harden were actually really great together in 2020 when KD was injured - probably the best part of the Nets season. I wish the hosts would do a little research...
In this situation only one question is relevant, what if those who don't believe in Kyrie and Luka are very wrong. What if Kyrie surprises all of basketball fans who are pessimistic and doubtful, what if Kyrie finally found the right teammate for himself who is humble enough to play with him, what if he found in Luka a real teammate who will never ask, who is the number one, or who is the number two, and together they will solve everything that time brings them. Maybe Kyrie founded someone who really listens to him and understands what he's saying. Doubts about the defense are not necessarily a problem because the trade is still happening, so not everything is finished. I sincerely hope that there is at least some truth in what I wrote, I really want it immensely, because at first, when I heard about the trade, I had mixed feelings, part of me was sad and the other part of me was very happy, so I hope that the side which makes me happy will win.
Hmm I highly doubt the real issue is finding a player humble enough to play with kyrie. I disagree, you have it backwards. Kyrie need to humble himself so he can fit with luka, or anyone for that matter.
JJ is by FAR the smartest and most competent analyst on TV. Thank god he's on ESPN now. He's one of the few on there with actual intelligent, reasonable takes.
“Most guys wanna hoop and take that responsibility very seriously”, but Kyrie hoops better than every teammate JJ has ever been with 😂 Kyrie balls out every time he’s on the court.
Harden and kyrie played amazing together you could argue that was kyries best season. His avg 27ppg on 50/40/90 splits
I find it interesting that No one ever questions Leonard for missing more games then Kyrie. Makes you wonder.
Jj w another great breakdown as always expect nothing less thank you as always 🫡🔥
Ky looks happy in Dallas. If him and Luka figure out how to play together it could be dangerous.
BTW, nothing has been announced that the trade is official by either team. Some are speculating it will end up being a three way deal
Done
Lol....
Im at work right now on lunch and these podcasts including yours make my day 100x better 🔥🔥
I believe that Jason Kidd is the right coach for Kyrie… let’s you play your game but assertive when need to be. But definitely, Mark Cuban is THE perfect owner for him to play for. He doesn’t care about the noise and is close w his players. And Carrie’s such a refreshing and energizing attitude. I think Kyrie just may of found his home here.
This will lead to the next, and possibly biggest rule change we've ever seen...
2 balls on the court at the same time. 🏀🏀
I hope Kyrie wins a chip with Dallas this year.
This is a positive conversation.
As a fan alot of us are feeling bad
Thanks for putting this content out boys 🤙
People forget Porzingis nickname was " the unicorn" the Dallas trade at the time made a lot of sense he was like second or third in MVP runners up, unstoppable until the injury in NY
literally everyone remembers that. also, that is years and years ago. even at the time before the trade to Dallas, people were aware that he was injury ridden and a lot of people were also aware that the fact NY traded the "unicorn" for basically 2 feature first round picks was a telltale. It was a 7 player swap, but outside Porzingis it was pretty much a wash, nothing spectacular. So yeah, if someone trades the unicorn for 2 picks (where you dont know what that even does for you) you know something is wrong.
I've never seen a more famous person have less critical thinking skills than Kyrie. He has absolutely no idea what evidence means, be it in a scientific context or a basketball context. Like JJ said, him expecting a 4-year contract is just proof of a guy disconnected from reality.
What happens to his all star spot since he is moving from east to west? Has this situation ever happened before?
I felt his emotion in this one, we need lebron on here
Thanks JJ for your views and player commentary.
Joe Tsi wanted not to satisfy Kyrie by not sending him to LA as reported today. So this could very well be a 3 month loan after losing those assets
Even if this doesn't work for the Mavs, they'll end up with loads of cap space.
6:39 exactly my thought…and this sets the tone on how trades will be done in the future.
With Kyrie it's not a matter of "if" he becomes a distraction it's a matter of "when". He has wrecking balled three, three!, franchises in seven years. It'll be four at some point.
OG Anunoby is the player that Dallas need. If they manage to make a deal for him, that would make them a true contender.

Not gonna lie, we have all these B.S. sports analysts......J.J. is what the sports media needs. He teaches the sport and gives analysis from a perspective that can capture both causal/long-term fans interests.
I LOVE THIS TRADE! ONE LESS TEAM TO WORRY ABOUT IN THE EAST! #SixersNation 💙❤️
I agree with this message. Until the hashtag. #HeatNation🔥
i like kyrie because i think he's setting a good example by showing younger players textbook "bad cases" (e.g. vaccination situation, "anti-Semitic" post) and examples and by not being afraid to stir up controversy. he stands up for what he believes and pays the cost for it. it's like two great lessons for the young players: if you stand up, this is what may happen; this is the cost, so you can get a sense of what the price of integrity is these days.
a lot of young men, especially athletes, don't really get much of training or support when it comes to navigating organizations or media or situations. if you continue to only examine him through an individual or athletic lens, you fail to appreciate how he's giving a lot of useful lessons throughout the league and to also black men handling a largely white male dominated media system.
i also think he's like one of the only three players in the league that other players wish they could do the moves that he pulls off. im not anywhere close to that level of hooping but i bet u, once you take away all that talk of nba, organizations, politics, career---almost every hooper out there looks forward to playing against/with him just to see what crazy combos and moves he'll pull out of his bag.
doncic plus kyrie is going to be a lot of fun to watch, sadly, most of the best moments will be contained in the practice facility. so let's just hope we can get a few awesome highlights before he bounces again lol
Every time I see JJ now I just hear him saying “Steph better” 😂
If there are other suitors ready to give Kyrie the money then BK Nets needed to protect themselves by giving Kyrie a contract so that when he does leave they can demand top dollar for him
Interested to see jj thoughts on this. I know there will be no emotions in the analysis unlike others
I was wrong emotions all over this
So, question for anyone with a little more insight. Will Irving be able to play along side someone who is as ball dominating as Dončić? I mean is Irving able to take on secondary roll? Because I don't see Dončić to change much about his gameplay at this point.
JJ talking real about "not being a distraction".
Idk why I had not subscribed to this channel. Great content JJ. Keep at it.
