He is the reason that I started watching the show, Skip is a blessed man to have him. He can't carry a show by himself.

I understand Stephen A’s position on having a roster of guys but Shannon is too great to be on “at least once a week.” He definitely needs his own show set up like Undisputed was. The reason I prefer Undisputed over First Take is first of all Shannon, second reason being, I know what I’m getting every single day. If I like Stephen A and JJ Redick for example, and they only come on on Tuesday, I’m only watching First Take on Tuesday.
Good analysis. I now see his skillset much better. Ferguson jumped up as a rookie, but I see Hendershot having a really good ceiling to push towards. I'm looking forward to seeing Schoon settle in opposite both of them.

This issue got me for surprise because I use to see them a lot during my break time on my job .and I like the way they analyze every single sport. But I think the chemistry with both of them is over.i feel so bad that this situation ended with Shannon leaving. 😮😢

I never miss a First Take!! I record it everyday. It’s the only sports show I’ve committed to learning my sports knowledge. Although Stephan A. comes across as facetious, I recognize it’s all in fun, but recognize him as a very knowledgeable brother who isn’t afraid to stand for black equality and tackles racial injustices frequently. I don’t always agree with his takes, but he can be somewhat convincing when he lays down facts. You either love him or hate him, but he is unapologetically black and makes no question about it. Gotta respect him for this & the fact that he’s taken the high road with Skip & Max!! Keep winning HBCU brother. BTW…you failed to mention Big Perk when naming your brothers.😂😂 I’m sure he’s texted you by now.😂😂😂
Shannon is our hometown hero here in Savannah and has earned the respect of the world. He is as real as it gets. Props to Stephen A for his honesty.

Fr, I love how the reports made it sound like Shannon left on his own. Nah, FSN bought him out and said thank you for your services. Skip Bayless, love or hate him.. is a good dude. He used his leverage to help SAS, and Shannon build their careers in media up to where they are now. Shannon lost sight of that and humiliated skip on national TV over a damn tweet. You don't air out behind the scenes stuff with the bosses for the audience to misinterpret, that was low. I like Shannon, but he was tripping. I think he should just do his own show, idk if it's ESPN or whatever. But yeah, Skip is going to be just fine. He'll lock down another great talent and keep this thing rolling. He pretty much invented this style of sports commentary, people forget that or just don't know it. Skip hasn't missed a day of TV in over a decade, he'll show up after drama and do the shit by himself if he has to. Sure they've done a couple weeks of vacation over the past 8 years here and there, but those were planned absences following the NBA finals when there is little to nothing to talk about. He's about as committed to this as it gets. Looking forward to the change up, the show was getting a bit stale anyway. But I am thankful for the years of entertainment undisputed provided me, skip and Shannon were great TV. Just like Skip and SAS were. That said, I'm sure you can only work with a guy like Skip for so long before you start to low-key hate him lol

Have always thought well of Stephen A. But his discussion with Clay Travis raised Stephen A to a another level in my book. He’s open to another’s opinions and will offer his own. He speaks very well. That used to be how it was done. That art is damn near gone in 2023. GO BRONCOS….would love to see Stephen and Shannon do a show.
I’m truly surprised he stood up for skip. Thought this was going to go the complete opposite way. Everyone gives skip his praises and respect he just stepped outside of hisself ruining the overall dynamic they had on FS1. It was over since that segment.

I actually think Shannon was a better fit on undisputed and that’s because espn and first take pick and choose and have 4 minute segments and let Molly do whatever she want. It be 10 minute segments with 5 people around the table while Molly trying to make her point also. This is why I liked the undisputed route

Stephen A. Smith wants Shannon Sharpe to come to his show for a few reasons. First is he knows the value Shannon Sharpe could potentially bring for any show just like Shannon did for Skip Bayless Undisputed. Second is he needs someone fresh with a really great deal of insights and knowledge of the NBA to debate with on the show and third, Stephen A. Smith knows he’s been spewing nonsense most of the time on ESPN and he just can’t stand himself at times so he needs someone who has a strong and commanding voice and presence to put him in his place every time he gets uncontrollably stupid on any show.
Not always a fan of Stephen A but I have to say he is always honest in his opinions.
The only reason Stephen A vouchers for a skip is because he left the museum for his knowledge of sports and talent for speaking. Make no mistake about it. Steven A is a talented brother and very knowledgeable. And those people at ESPN know this... Steven A draws a lot of people With this professionalism and articulation in sports.
I'm pretty gutted about Skip and Shannon being no more. I loved their on screen chemistry and I'll miss the Dew bets a lot. But I hope ESPN picks up Shannon because then I'd still get to see him on TV a lot, he's too entertaining to not be on every week day. I'll still watch Undisputed though, I'm still a Skip fan.

I think Shannon has too much drawing power to be on First Take and be beneath somebody like yourself, showing up once or twice a week when you feel like having him on. Not when there will be thousands of new people watching whatever show he's on ONLY to watch him. Wherever he ends up will have to be a daily thing and he'll demand to be as respected as well as yourself, because the root of his issues stem from Skips disrespect. Shannon isn't going to leave Undisputed due to being disrespected and go somewhere he doesn't feel he's on equal footing. He doesn't need to be on TV. He doesn't need any of it. He could just continue his podcast and be fine until the right opportunity comes around. That right opportunity won't be him coming on someone else's show once or twice a week and having no respect or freedom though

No tv personality gets more respect from me than Shannon Sharpe. The way he handled this situation is a class 99% of us don't have. He didn't go off. He didn't have an outburst live on tv. He didn't strike Skip and lord knows he could have done serious damage. He did it the right way, quietly and behind the season. Bought himself out and closed the door behind him. His mother would be proud.
I felt the same way around you but the one thing that sucks is he’s out there liking tweets talking down on skip. Just keep it classy man. We all know why it didn’t workout, no need to talk down on the dude who gave you your shot. No matter what happened. Don’t be a diva.
And yet he was extremely unprofessional in boycotting and not showing up to work a day after Skip tweeted about Hamlin. I've reread those tweets many time and they come across a little insensitive but they weren't egregious. Even if they were you have to show up to work and do your job. He made the situation 1000x worse and left Skip out to dry. Then the next day, if the agreement pre show was that they weren't going to bring it up, Skip had every right to interrupt him if Shannon blindsided him with "and I hoped he was going to take it down". Then he proceeds to act like a child and make the next moments insanely awkward. And now after he announces he's leaving he likes multiple tweets that are extremely disrespectful to Skip which is nothing short of a betrayal, and now they have to deal with that awkwardness for the remainder of the shows? Shannon is completely in the wrong here. Shannon himself has blatantly said many times that he wouldn't be the huge media personality he is today if it wasn't for Skip sticking up for him and giving him this opportunity when FS1 executes strongly wanted to go in another direction. That doesn't mean that Skip can treat him however he wants, and Skip does interrupt him too much, and Shannon has every right to look for new opportunities and doesn't owe it to Skip to do this forever, but the way he's leaving is completely unwarranted. It sucks because I love the two of them together. It's been my go to sports debate show for the past 5 years. I agree that Shannon is a classy and a good dude, but this is 100% not an example of this.
@David Hutchison and these “situations” truly only became situations based on Shannon’s histrionic outbursts, which could have been contrived by him as well to use as leverage to be bought out by fox and maybe help bolster his own branding as well. I feel there was a volitional component to his “reactions.” If those differences were debated within the context of the show-I don’t believe there would be a ground-swelling of outrage by pundits and fans alike. The controversy only became one based on Shannon’s dramatic reactions, which again I viewed as,manipulative especially with him being paid not to work aka bought out.

I’m just gonna share my opinion on this matter. When you have two people with totally different personalities things like this can occur. I seen this coming ever since they had that disagreement on the Damar Hamlin situation a while back. Skip Bayless can be a complete ahole when he wants to be. Shannon looks like the type of person who does not tolerate being disrespected, or when people show little concern about the well being of others. As people grow, you either grow together or you grow apart.
Shannon needs his own show he's paid his dues let him shine by himself.
