That's Barry Hearn's vision - to turn this gentlemen's game into Ally-Pally style darts, full of drunk morons shouting out, putting the players off. Unfotunately, audience "participation" is becoming more and more a part of certain sports that perhaps wouldn't otherwise draw a crowd. People just don't have the patience to sit quietly and watch something these days, unless it's a crap movie/TV show on S**tFlix

Got to feel for Wilson in a way, it was a lose lose situation for him he wins and people will say “oh well you should have won he’s only 14” he losses and people say “you really lost to a 14 year old” still a great performance from Riley

The fact at 14 he’s winning under 18 tournaments show his levels. He’s beating those 4 years older than him which is a big deal as a kid

@If I was 1 yeah maybe, but they would have more experience than him. He also came from behind, with 10 second shots, played perfectly and under pressure with the lack of beeps for the time. Can't be certain of world champ, of course

@Joulu Pukki it’s one frame of speed snooker literally anyone who’s capable of making a 30 break can win. It’s a great achievement for the young lad and being Welsh under 18’s champ at 14 is fantastic. He will be a good pro for sure but to say he will be world champion is a bit of a stretch

Two players 6 feet apart, taking turns at smacking each other in the head with snooker cues until one is knocked completely unconscious. It's like slap fighting only with Snooker cues.

I get impression by sound of the crowd, they’re acting out for having to be quiet in other tournaments. It’s pathetic and annoying! I couldn’t watch Allen vs Lisowski without having mute on. The studio sound is awful also, the woman laugh sounds like a group of drunken louts.

Shootout format is great opportunity for the young players. They can play against the best players and gain courage on the live tv. I don’t understand why some people are against the shootout format. Its good to see new talents playing. Old pals are always around.
The crowd and the fact that it's a ranking event make it stupid.
I don’t mind the quick format, maybe needs a few adjustments, but feels like luck is hugely important in this format rather than skill, hence no reoccurring winner

Let's face it ok and be honest here, as good as these are. They are nothing compared to the top pros like Hendry and so on, who at that age were quite literally insane on the table. I mean didn't miss by much? His attempt at that long red was miles away. Nah to get to the top, these guys have to be far better, total commitment. Are they good players? Sure, but good isn't good enough
As for this format and the crowd? Its a disgrace
I was in watching Davis u fraggle and don't backtrack it was almost in fuck me has every shot gotta be dead in the centre of a pocket he pulled off some great shots no one's saying he is the next hendry one of my fav ever players or an o Sullivan but give him a chance ffs
