@Joseph Turk well it makes sense that they don’t win 7 playoff games in a row, so I said Denver in 5/6. Not to dis the heat but Miami just gets incredibly cold sometimes during entire games and no one steps up. Have not seen that on the Denver side in a while

Yeah me to being a Celtics fan I cannot lie I am enjoying these finals however I am cautioning people to realize it's the best of four games at first not a best of one that's the problem I got with heat fans a lot of them were quiet as a mouse on church running to pray and now everyone coming out of the woodworks those the fans I cannot stand now if they lose two straight and that's a big if now where will those fans be but other then that I'm pumped for that third game

Suns fired the coach that turned around their franchise and took them to the Finals. He was promptly hired by Detroit and given the highest salary in NBA history. As a Cavs fan I’m excited to see Kevin Love in the finals again! Both teams are special and I’m glad I’m not betting on who wins! This should be interesting! Its not him they are defending, its his teammates. He is still making the passes. But the pressure to jamal and company, thats what’s making the difference.
Even coach spo got off on a reporter for suggesting that they stopped jokic. Which in hindsight its an insult to the effort Miami had in preventing jamal, kcp or mpj getting clean shots.
Remember, its not jokic they are stopping, otherwise he wouldn’t have scored 41 points. And that’s easy to see to the naked eye

@Shelby Haiketic here's the difference that most casuals do not want to understand. The Heat are generating ALOT of great looks and even moreso against this Denver defense. It is a matter of executing the open looks. The Heat aren't necessarily relying on guys to shoot off the dribble fadeaway threes like the splash brothers. These are efficient shots being generated so they are going to fall at some point for an NBA team.

This isn't really complicated. MPJ is shooting 29% from the field and 18% from 3 in the series on almost entirely open looks. He's a 50/42/80 career shooter that for some reason can't make an open look right now. The moment seems a bit too big for him so far. The NBA has sadly become almost entirely about shot variance

It is all about adjustments. Miami made some very good adjustments. That's why they were able to tie the seies on Nuggets homecourt. Nuggets have advantage on size but Miami is not afraid of them.

True. Murray and the other never heated up. Didn't get much of a rhythm coz Heat just let Joker do what he can, and let the other stay cold. Great strategy by coach Spo. He is really proving he is so much better than Malone. Malone is just lucky he has Joker. He is not a good coach.
This what I said to my friend, let jokic be scorer and not distributor coz when jokic distributes and his teammates gets rhythm offensively getting ez layups and open 3s they going wild on defense them role players thinking they where a huge part on offense will push them to defend
Doing this also slows down Jokic. Notice close to the end he started missing quite a few shots you think he’d make.

Don't forget the genius of Spoelstra to come up with a game plan that wins games. Jokic's strength is not his scoring. it's his passing ability that makes everyone else on that team even better and right down unstoppable when they get going. Let the big guy score and keep the rest sub 15 pts and you have yourself a chance. Can't say enough good things about Gave Vincent, this dude has courage, and he is a cold-blooded sniper. Duncan Robinson has surprised me. the man has stepped up in big games.

@tree bro I haven't watched basketball since 98 when Jordan retired, so I haven't been keeping up with these new guys. I really enjoy watching the Nuggets play though. I'm an old school basketball fan, so it really irritated me watching Denver give Miami wide open looks all night at the 3 pt line. That's a lack of hustle and intensity. What stuck out about the Heat for me is how hard they played at the defensive end.

Great adjustment from Spo playing Kevin Love. Denver showed some terrible decision making tonight. If they can lock in and play disciplined in game 3, Denver takes it.
They needed a 3 so that made the defense easier. I like Jimmy Butler guarding Jamal Murray. But Gabe Vincent and Robinson stepped up and knocked shots down. They have to get Strauss going, Strauss left his jump shot in Miami/the Eastern Conference

Heat don't really have anyone that can guard Jokic so I believe the strategy is to play him one on one but contain everybody else. Jokic is the type of player even if you double him he will still score but if you do it opens the door for everyone else. So forget trying to double him an do the best you can one on one a hope you can keep the other players from scoring.
No one in the NBA has anyone who can guard him either…no big deal! His sorcery with every rim dangling shot that goes in is sheer wizardry and the difference between 111-108 and getting blown out!!!

So far I can conclude 2 things: Denvers offensive is a thing to recon, really powerfull and if you are not carefull they will blow you out. Miami is the better coached team all around. Denvers defense shows that spoe is much better than Malone. I think the momentum will carry to game 3, MIami will take game 3 also is my prediction.

To be brutally honest, the only way to stop Denver is to let Jokic score, and stop everybody else. But the problem with that is if you guard other players more physically you can get in foul trouble. Which is what I would do if I was Malone, let Heat draw fouls until they have to play softer defense. That can be the remedy.
For Denver, Porter and KCP were the weak links in this game. Porter missed shots. He has to stop taking 3s. He isn't making them. Pass it or drive to basket. Then KCP continually left his man open on Defense allowing Miami shooters to have open looks. Also, Coach Malone was out coached on last play. He didn't use his timeout to set up a better look on that last 3 pointer. Yet the shot still almost went in!

The Heat are going to win this series. Remember they were not supposed to beat Milwaukee or Boston and now they have home court advantage in this series now. They are for real people. And tonight they played with a chip on their shoulder and with something to prove.

Love the Heat, but Nuggests just have more talent. And they are also well coached and play good team basketball. I just can't see Heat being able to win 4 games here, this probably goes to 6 or 7 games though

Denver is a two-man team. Both Jokic and Jamal have to be on their A games and the supporting cast needs to do OK. This game Jamal got shut down by Butler. Jokic can score 50 but he cannot win it by himself. It did help that Miami shot well. It will be competitive every game I think unless Miami cannot shoot exceptionally as they have been doing thru out the playoffs. good series and both teams are at the top of their game. BTW Miami coaching staff must really be amazing as they are able to get this team with such a small size and limited talent to get to this point. If you compare Miami to some of the other high talent teams, they have no business being here. Players like Lowry, Spruce, Robinson and Martin are hitting well above their weights here. Kudos to those guys
