I have a feeling Graviton Forfeit was updated out of foresight by Bungie for Nightstalkers when Void 3.0 comes out. Looking forward to customizing my Gunslinger.
Jester Gemini can stop someone from regening shields, and works thru walls in the middle of the map. If they get away from your guns and grenades and are about to hide for shield regen, dash once and they have to wait more. They rule for chasing people down. double good for getting away as top tree void cuz your invisibility is actually pretty effective when their screen is all blurry. ALSO you can dodge under a roaming super and watch as they wander off to the wrong side of the map.
Infinite blade barrage in pve would be fun
Sixth coyote, regen dodge and bombardiers
Radiant dance are C
“If Wormhusk Wasnt So Ugly I Probably Would Never Take it Off” Lmao That’s Literally Exactly How I Feel
So glad I got the ornament for it
@Rous Rouslan nah man you just look like Loaderbot from BL2 and tales from the borderlands and it makes the item even better :D
@Nick Burton yea you ahve to make ypur whole hunter golden to match it
@Rous Rouslan nah it can look nice with the right gear and shaders easier now with Ada-1 making it able to make armour ornaments
As a Young Ahamkara Spine main for PvP I appreciate someone finally giving them the respect they deserve. Thank you, Castle
*enemies rush in mayhem*
*4 bodies fly into the air bc they didn't see my 4 trips I forgot I threw*
SAME. Thanks castle
@nobodie 999 now shaax can stop saying MORE GRENADES
@Deeran the one time I made our dude proud 🤣
One thing to be aware of with the Celestial Nighthawk is that it can destroy a ward of dawn and kill the titan inside the ward with a single shot, and do it from a safe distance; all you have to do is aim at the titan inside the bubble. It also breaks wells and behemoths very nicely, and I use it as a swap during trials if there is a bubble titan on the enemy team. Yes, I run Celestial Nighthawk in Trials; yes, I am a maniac.
Its really not a bad exotic for guaranteeing super shutdowns.
@Nerul Yeah I was just thinking this. It's essentially just an uno reverse for any super seeing as how it's it just instant death for any one thing. Plus the super regen is nice so you can shut down more supers than you would without.
@Payne Vess facts. Plus it doesn't look halfbad
it doesnt kill the titan, just breaks the bubble.
it's obvious how much work you put into these videos! S+ tier content
Thanks so much Kuts! Lots of help from Gjerda and Godin for sure.
graviton forfeit also has increased invisibility on top of the increase that it originally gave. also, if you're lucky and get 2 invisibilities one after the other (which is possible with GF), the invisibility can last up to 28 seconds.
I use them with top tree and travelers I literally run around invisible the entire match. They are for sure s tier
This with rat king and a bow
Castle Content is always S+ tier. So much thought and diligence into each upload. No clickbaits. I doff my hat to you sir!
Thank you Viking
Another thing about dragons shadow: once you put them on, it's very hard to take them off.
Besides situational stuff like celestial nighthawk for boss DPS I almost never take it off. I'm SO used to the huge handling and mobility buffs And automatically reloading everything for me that it's reached a point if I use any other exotic I become uncomfortable and out of my zone. I took them off once and went into a match and I was dodging after emptying my magazines and I was confused why nothing was reloaded. So yeah be aware you'll Crutch them hard.
For me its stompies, without them I feel like a slug
Same goes for Wormhusk.
I think it actually hinders your learning curve, because you don't get punished as harshly for bad positioning.
Yep. I use Dragon's Shadow in raids and everyone hates me for it.
I use dragon shadow on hyper aggressive cqc pvp builds. So usually smg, sidearms, and shotguns. Getting in quicker and getting the dodge back after an engagement to quickly reload my weapons and kill the next player. I like it on bottom tree strider as dodging and then sprinting gives my dodge back quicker and dodging makes it easier close the gap to avoid damage or disengage as it's harder to hit me.
@Shadow Destiny i started using Dragons Shadow because of you and now my went from 0.8 to 1.2
Bones of Eao made me main hunter for a bit, double strafe jump and shade step was one of the most fun ive had in crucible. Hope they bring it back one day
you mean double Better Control? xD
@iaxf ツ no he means double strafe jump,
bones of eao quite literally gave you an extra jump regardless of what jump you had equipped
Young Ahamkara's Spine has a special place in my heart. It was my first exotic in both Destiny 1 and Destiny 2.
The sealed ahamkara was so good when combined with the ikelos shotgun. The damage buff when close to enemies with the ikelos and the additional buff to damage after a melee combined with the instant reload of the sealed ahamkara made the hunter a close range monster.
I’ve been using the knuckle head radar with a box breathing hung jury in the crucible. Needless to say it’s a very strong combo allowing me to kill people across the map in 0.67 seconds while still retaining my radar to answer imminent threats. You should give it a try, it’s literally a turret build that rewards good aim.
That’s what I use as well, radar is the most important thing in this game and having it up during a gunfight is super powerful.
i have a friend that WILL NOT take off his box breathing hung jury. It gets annoying sometimes, but I understand why he won't use anything else.
I like exotics that in one way or another change an aspect of how your class functions and gives you a big buff when capitalizing on that change. Ashen Wake, Mask of Bakris, Boots of the Assembler etc.
I personally like it when exotics buff a very specific thing. It makes it feel more personal that you chose the exotic you are running
I would love to see another tier list with the changes coming this upcoming season.
11:54 this is exactly what I felt with not only Shards but also with the Warlock Skull exotic for Nova bomb. I either got a insultingly small amount for killing one or two, or half for killing like 5. There's no way it's percentage based, or if it is it's got some Bungie RNG jank in there.
Also Omnioculus’ perk procs anytime you go invisible, and if you use it with Rat King you will get 4 resist stacks. I basically only use them together because I feel pretty confident that I can always survive whatever is going to happen after I get the Rat King kill and I may be able to get another kill without dying. I also suppose it would work great with Travelers Chosen but I find that it works a whole lot better with Rat King
I think the best way to run Aeons in a 6-player activity might be to have only half of the team running one of each of the mods while the other half on the team are free to specialize their build. For example, there is a lot of potential synergy between Sect of Vigor and the Stag. Ooh, it didn't occur to me until just now, but you could also throw in a warlock with Boots of the Assembler and Lumina. A bottom tree void Hunter with Graviton Forfeit would fit in nicely with that when combined with 6 Rat Kings.
I'd love to see the Bones back. I don't think I took them off in D1 when I switched from Titan to Hunter. You could stay in the air from one side of a map to the other.
Quick reminder that utility kickstart now exists and rocking even the one means you will have 100% uptime on wraithmetal mail, same as what it was before it got stealth nerfed in beyond light. This also means you can get away with 50 mobility on hunters so you can focus your build elsewhere.
This is comprehensive. Thank you for putting this together. I personally can’t take off Wormhusk Crown in PvP.
Glad you enjoyed!
the words of a shttr
One thing that was missed with Young Ahamkara's Spine is that it also allows you to stick your trip mine grenades to teammates.
It wasn't mentioned in the video, but you can one shot a titan and their bubble with Celestial Nighthawk. Probably won't change the tier, just wanted that put out there.
Reminder that Wormhusk used to be borderline mandatory cause of how good it was when it first came out
with bombardiers the good thing with them is on stasis you can swap out winter shroud with another aspect that could potentially give you two extra fragments
Bone of Eao and Red Death were the only two exotics I was sad about losing when we transfered from D1 to D2. I really wish they would bring Bones back. Or even make it an added perk to st0mp335
I just came across your video, via recommended, and you are now my new main. Absolutely blown away, by your professionalism, knowledge, and ability to explain everything in a way everyone understands.
Thank you so much for the kind words; let me know if any other vids catch your eye - cheers!
I’ve seen Hunters run Revenant with Frosstees equipped, it’s actually a pretty great build to use.
I’ve been playing middle arcstrider since release and it has a big big problem: u can die from self dmg like antheus used to be. This bug never got fixed, and considered that middle arc is a super u can activate face to face to an enemy (the animation of the activation IS a deflect), sometimes happens to die from misadventure. When u die earlier, idk why but Raijus gives u back some super like u deactivate it. I’m not sure if it’s a bug but it’s really good.
I love these vids! Extremely thorough, well scripted and great visuals! Castle content going strong! You will get where you deserve to be - and I’ll be here for the ride 😁👍
I recently fell in love with young ahamkaras spine - I rarely play hunter, but these with the six shooter goldie, the new IB sidearm and the trials of the nine pulse is extremely fun. Nice placing for those!
Thanks you Again Pete!
Ophidia spathe is amazing with the blade barrage knives in PVE, if you keep getting kills you practically have instant unlimited knives.
Bones and Twilight should definitely come back, and 'Locks could use a Glide exotic. I had an idea before the Landfall buff called "Tribulation of Zeus" that enhanced Glide momentum and duration and proc'd Landfall when activating any Super, but I guess that would be pretty broken, since LF is insanely powerful now.
i run ophidia with blade barrage quite a bit, the fast recharge between kills from the fan of knives added to the double charge gives it an almost 100% up time as long as you have fodder- amazing in PvE, with red bar enemies, and after the final stage you can comfortably throw ~12 rounds of knives back to back without hitting anything before the buff goes away
6:15 “If it wasn’t so ugly, i wouldn’t take it off” this is relatable on a whole new level
I do agree - but I still never take it off. 😊 I've got an ornament on there though.
It looks good with abhorrent, but you can't get that armour anymore so... yeah.
I actually kinda like the look with certain cloaks, always liked the "boney" armors like in taken king, but without a cloak it's horrifying to a whole 'nother level
@Sleepy yeah, there's a couple cloaks that doesn't have a hood right? I put that on once and couldn't swap it out fast enough. My eyes!
For me that's Sixth Coyote. It would be my number one if it weren't so horrendous looking.
Ophidea Spathe also reduces the time it takes to ready another charged weighted knife if you land a head shot with your first one.
I think the recent hunter nerfs are going to make the sixth coyote an s-tier exotic, might go with those if they ever nerf stompees.
This was great! thanks for all the hard work that went into this.I can't wait for you to do Titan and warlock.
Glad you enjoyed it! I did Titan a couple months ago if you're interested!
That's right! I did watch that.
Raiju’s Harness and Graviton Forfeit are my favorites.
Graviton Forfeit: looks really cool and, paired with top tree Nightstalker, enables me to stay out of bad situations in both PvP and PvE after using my dodge to escape.
Raiju’s Harness: looks awesome and is just convenient, especially in things like Mayhem when I can cancel and get the super back that much faster. And did I mention it looks awesome?
Edit: oh yeah, and Oathkeepers. They look really cool, and they make Le Monarque an absolute nuisance to the enemy team.
Dude Geomag chaos meta was sick lol, but before there was geomag there were the original Shards, I remember getting back like 75%+ of my super energy when I popped when they first came out, it was sick! Of course this was in pve and I don' t think it was ever super crazy in pvp.
Oathkeepers do have an additional bonus to them that wasn't brought up. Bows have a gimmick where they will do additional damage for about half a second after being fully drawn. Oathkeepers essentially keep bows in that state when fully drawn, meaning you can pretty much always do max damage. This is very noticeable with the Le Monarque exotic, as headshots on a perfect draw cause an explosion. Furthermore, you will note that the purple glow that normally dims on it will remain lit. As mentioned though, these are less useful for people who are already good at bows. I think they need some sort of buff.
Bones/Strafe/Mida-Winters was soooo good. Literally hit a 2ish minute rumble game back in D1 with them
I personally think the wormhusk is one of the coolest looking exotics in the game
I found wedding veil useful with bottom tree gunslinger: several hopeless battles where it's me and two enemies in elimination that I either won with point blank knife headshot, or drew by healing from knife kill and then trading with the other enemy
I used to run Knucklehead Radar a lot when I first got it around the launch of D2 and it was great for me when I was but a blueberry. I'm still a little blue here and there, especially in pvp but I've now become adept to utilizing Dragon's Shadow with pve builds and Wormhusk Crown in pvp
Tbh i really want another gunslinger exotic that instead gives you alot more rounds and longer super time, but weakened damage. It would help aloT for farming solar + super
Assassin's cowl also procs with stasis stars and finishers on any class. Also when you do finishers, the invisibility lasts longer and can make your already invis last longer
I feel like Ophidia Spathe is a top tree exotic, not a bottom tree. Ideally, you should be landing your weighted knives most of the time, which gives you "infinite" knives. But on top tree, being able to just toss trap knives around is very nice, especially on some trials maps. On convergeance last weekend, for example, we ran into people that defaulted to waterfall every round. Our strategy ended up being rushing to bridge, and having me (our only hunter) spam top tree knives around the waterfall as I could gamblers dodge through the wall. It made for a tricky situation for the enemy team, and eventually they were forced to play mid with us. Even then, I could just knife their hallway to block any retreat they tried to make when we got a pick.
It's not the best exotic, but for top tree its quite a nice exotic. At the very least its better than Foe Tracer and Celestial Nighthawk
Graviton Forfeit, Rat King, 100 mobility, top tree Tether, double Utility kickstart mod. It’s a really fun and lethal build that makes Graviton low A tier, if not better.
Very detailed and concise video. I now feel like I know enough now to really reap the benefits of a hunter. Thanks for taking the time!
No problem! Thx for your feedback
Honestly man you out out such good content. Love your stuff, joy to watch.
Thank you! Please feel free to share with others :) haha
When I got omni, I actually used it in an aggressive way with a kickstart plug1and rat king. It was surprisingly effective
For me, Young Ahamakara Spines are S tier, actual play making grenades in Trials, plus they do have intrinsic fastball, making it to where i can run double grenade kickstart and bomber, with my triple 100 stats. I highly recommend them as they will be the new shatterdive after dive is nerfed.
Shinobu vows where my first exotics when I started playing crucible frequently while I ended up switching to wormhusk down the road but I still rock the skip grenades , like u said there great to either flush opponent out from hiding or even find out where they are by following the trackers
7:16 i believe these are either glitched or have been shadownerfed for this season. I use these on the regular for my pvp builds, and i usually run it with "the messenger" pulse rifle which used to proc the perk as long as i hit all three rounds of the burts, yet in this season it seems to require at least 4 bullets to hit for the perk to proc, which forces me to use vigilance wing or a different weapon in general just to be able to proc the perk. Very sad
4:40 they work really well with Thorn. It lets you two-tap so often
You can already two-tap with Thorn on anyone with less than 6 resilience as long as you've picked up a Remnant. I feel like this is what you're actually experiencing.
As someone who’s been running foe tracer for seasons ever since season four I find it invaluable in crucible. Especially since I run handcannons and Scouts. It’s a lot better than what it was portrayed as but it takes a little creativity to use. Information is power depending on its use.
Other than that this list is well done. Top tier content my guy.
Oathkeeper actually still buffs draw speed slightly even though it's not in the description.
Awesome video!!! Glad somebody finally gave sixth coyote some love. Very underrated exotic. Keep it up
I really want to try out all the other exotics - but any time I take off wormhusk I feel so powerless in tense situations. I've gotten way too used to the slipperyness they enable!
Haha yup - you should try stompees or dragons shadow for 1 week and see how you feel!
@Castle Content yeah - I've tried using stompees for some pve stuff that has a lot of jumps (presage, etc.) but then I keep launching myself past platforms. I'd have to get used to it!
I think you can get overly adjusted to any of these. I used to use ophidie spathe over a year ago, and I still try throwing a second knife.
It was a blast to work on this with you my friend :) thanks for the opportunity!
yooo your the guy, from that one discord server, with a great pfp, and awsome scrims! wowzers
Hahah thanks Fred!
What HC did you use at 0:09 gjerda?
I like niche exotics, but I almost never take off Dunemarchers. Looking forward to the Titan version.
Honestly I prefer neutral game exotics, usually things that buff movement/weapon handling. I don’t ever use the super boost exotics, as I prefer gun skill and positioning over relying on my super. To each their own though
As an average Blade Barrage enjoyer, I’m glad i’m not the only one who noticed how it feels like they actually got nerfed after the patch
Ophidia spathe is overlooked...it looks great with the right shader and double knives is great now for 3.0
I would honestly put the graviton in B tier, because you completely forgot about top tree. The amount of radar manipulation plays you can make with the soul fact that you are invisible longer basically every 11 seconds (if you running max mob) and get your smoke back faster.
Mask of Bakris is my favorite exotic. No one expects you to fly past then invisible and at light speed.
If I play goldy in trials I always keep Celestial Nighthawk on my character to swap on if need.
Comes in handy if the other team pops a bubble or well on the cap point
Relatively new to destiny so thank you ssooo much for the visual representations of how the armor pieces work !!!!
New subscriber. Video is well thought out and wonderfully done. Great job. I learned a lot
Welcome aboard! Thanks Ricky.
Foetracer increases thorns poison damage. Combine those 2 and it's amazing
This is a good list so far, but I think you massively underrate graviton forfeit w/top tree NS, it’s my go to combination this season
I will admit, every exotic in the game can be elevated with very specific, niche builds, like the one you mention. It then becomes tough to rank them all perfectly. I appreciate the feedback!
@Castle Content Yeah but the exotic is literally built for void hunter soooo. And idk when you tested them but they're basically exactly the same as 10 recovery now
Foetracer is waaay slept on. I can attribute a fair amount of kills each game with the tracking thanks to pairing with hawkmoon.
ive been rocking worm husk on my hunter with 100 mobility so i can dodge a bunch and heal often, also with the top tree (i think) void class you can go invisible too lol also reload your weapon or melee all at once!
As a Trick Sleeves enthusiast, I use two Sidearms so I can take advantage of the buff. Though I know it sucks in most other use cases...
Feels bad about the Tricksleeve ranking as a devil's ruin main, but i understand. If the perk proc'ed the moment you hit critical without having to swap to the sidearm it would be nasty ! IMO this would be the best change to this exotic without breaking the game
If you use young ahamkaras pair it with top tree goldie so opponents proc the knife and trip mine for free kills. If in control just rush the enemy objective and its a free like 3 kills if they're there
As a bow main, I love Oathkeepers. The fact that I can freely check my radar by holding the charge in hip fire and avoiding draw time completely is awesome. Also I was a Bones of Eao main in D1, you have good taste.
Yeah, he kinda downplayed Oathkeepers though I can see where he's coming from. If you only look at them as advertised in that they let you hold a perfect draw forever, they can seem pointless. The real strength is that they let you hold that draw while peeking, letting you have your bow ready as fast as everyone else using a normal gun. The bow's biggest problem is being caught flatfooted without having it drawn and Oathkeepers lets you avoid that entirely. The constant perfect draw is just a bonus that Le Monarque takes specific advantage of.
As another bow main, they personally offer me nothing; if I'm in a 1v1 situation with bow in hand, I always pre-draw before peeking and flick as I would with a sniper. Though it should be said that I play pretty aggressive even with a bow and Oathkeepers inherently employ a more passive approach to using them imo.
@LyfjaSSB Aye, I love OK but I use the bow more defensively and to lock down smaller zones or areas. If playing aggressively I'd just swap out to something like Stomp or Husk instead.
Fun Fact: Ophida Spathe stacks with Monte Carlo, which means you get more knives to spam
In mayhem one blade barrage kill with shards of galanor gave you 100% of your super and it was so fun to just spam it
Castle is the most slept on content creator in this community I swear
This video was extremely helpful and very well put together, so sincerely thank you very much.
I mainly only play Warlock, fairly exclusively for years, with only a dabble here and there on my other characters. But with the recent void 3.0 changes, I'm actually really loving my Hunter, so much so that I have been playing my Hunter as my main, and with Iron Banner this week, I am determined to crack some skulls with my Hunter. However, since my Hunter has collected a bit of dust, this video really helps explain each exotic, including what each exotic does as well as their individual strengths/weaknesses in the crucible. I also enjoyed the bit of humour sprinkled throughout, so thank you again.
Hey Michael! Thank you for the compliment and glad you found it helpful!
@Castle Content You're very welcome, thank you for the content. This video alone earned you a subscriber. 😊
Ahhh, Luck Raspberry. In D1 it used to be a HEAVY AMMO buff for Hunters. Paired this with Gjallarhorn for Raids
Celestial nighthawk also penetrates bubbles allowing you to humiliate the titan emoting inside
Just hit legend for my first time on Hunter.Raijus was very useful for getting multiple supers or baiting out others and canceling mine so if I did die I would get mine first next time around.
I kind of disagree about Shards Of Galanor. It's still a great exotic for PvE, with tier 5 intelect and builds focusig well mods, abilities replenish real fast at low cost. Also about Liar's Handshake, seems that it was a little bit nerfed since last year (I'm not sure, but I can feel it coz I use it a lot), but to compensate that it got an incredible boost with the mod that gives you a well for every charged melee together with the arc mod that boosts your melee after collecting a well. You can clear an entire room just dodging (to replenish melee) and hitting. Not everyone likes it, but for those ones that enjoys put weapons to a supporting role in a game entirely weapon driven, it's very satisfying, also because you can stagger most of the bosses with it giving a wide open window for the other team mates to finish them. In Gambit, if you choose a collector role, you can help fill the bank real quick, but that demands practice. Of course both exoctics are not the best for PvE if that is your focus, and I don't play PvE, so these 2 and Mask Of Bakris are my top exotics.
As much as radiant dance machine needed to be disabled i do feel like it needs more than what they offer. When would you ever need to dodge 6 times in either pvp or pve, since they removed the super gain theyll end up being in everyones vault never to be seen again because theyre useless
Would you be willing to do a Warlock exotic tier list? These are super helpful! Thank you!
Eventually yeah but I want to get a handle on all of those first so I’m confident
I have to say that out of all the exotics I use.
The placement for Sealed Ahamkaras is the lowest compared to what it can do.
Reloading is one of the biggest killers in PvP. So with melee that have an area of effect or can bounce, you have a high chance of getting a hit. So it's build dependant with needing to rely on melee to sustain dps. Even in close and long range playstyles.
Ps: I would definitely take Bones of Aeo over Stomp-33Z any day tbh.
I feel like for builds shinobus are easy S but over all like A imo. With high hits on nades you can junk i believe like 5-6 grenades IN 15 SECONDS. Criminally underrated and used
I miss bones of eao, but with stompies out there it kinda has its niche filled to a degree
one cool thing about the foetracer;
if ure rocking the thorn and have the perk active u can actually 2 head (I think any resilience?) so thats kinda cool :3
Shards were made worse in pve too. Used to be good against atheon with super spam, but now caps out at 50, so it doesn’t work.
It would be cool if they combined Sixth Coyote and Dragons Shadow
one thing ill say about celestial; can one shot and kill through titan bubble. can be swappable for trials if you know its coming
When I first got exotics I just chose whatever looked the coolest but now I'm using the frostees pretty much exclusively now since I got stasis just to be op in pve
Stasis hunter main here, ophidia is super amazing if you switch it to stasis, also bombadiers is hella fun with stasis
Liar's Handshake is op for gambit. You can stun lock the primeval when you are hitting with melee and the health regen keeps you alive and the primeval cant move or attack
A calça da sorte funciona no PvP?
Vc percebe diferença no canhão de mão?
I love Godin's stuff. I listen to his and Nomad's stuff on repeat.
As a celestial nighthawk main in pvp I can confirm D tier is a good spot for it.
