What I didn't expect is that I would be touched deeply and cry throughout the movie. Seeing true sisterhood, seeing the struggle of men, the struggle of women and hearing the message of truth at the end .... Just wow. Absolutely wonderful in it's extreme craziness, fun and depth.

I saw this movie today and let me just say this movie is more than just silly jokes and singing it actually provokes a lot of emotions and it was 10x better than I expected it to be.

This movie surpassed all my expectations. I literally could not stop laughing, then crying at the end. The humor, look and feel of this movie, the messages and satire, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are perfection.
And Ferrara, she also did a massive job with her brainwashing monologue, that could have ruined the feel of the movie, but she carried it wonderfully.
You get entertainment with very little let me tell you. The movie was not even funny. Let alone interesting. It was trash

I was skeptical of Ryan Gosling playing Ken (I'd never seen him in a comedic role before). I was pleasantly surprised. He was perfect in this!

This was so accurate to how it was playing with barbies when I was young. I was smiling the whole time and even cried some. I can't wait to see it again. My husband teared up at the end and he never played with barbies!

I loved this movie. Never had Barbies, although I particularly appreciated the references to the toys. Watched it with my girlfriend and we both cried at several points. Margot Robbie was very convincing and charming. I recommend this movie to everyone.

Not seen it, not interested in seeing it, but can you please explain something to me. What is it about this movie that is causing couples to break up? Apparently if boyfriends and partners don't want to see it, break-up. If they won't wear pink to go see it, break-up. If they don't extoll it as the greatest film they have ever seen, break-up. It's almost as if a lunatic gas is being pumped into the theaters causing girls and women to go completely insane... from what I am reading about the movie and it's after effects. I actually used the stairs EVERY single time.but then again i also used to say that mickey mouse was a liar and he wasnt really waiting for my answer(i used to write the correct answer on a register and hide it from the screen to show my family that mickey mouse isnt actually talking to me.) i was in kindergarten when i did this😂

I just watched this movie and I thought it was da bomb! Margot Robbie totally seemed like a doll come to life, you could not have cast an actress who more personified Barbie, and Ryan Gosling was really, really good as Ken (although I'm biased he always plays his characters with a lot of emotion and feeling), and Kate McKinnon was honestly the surprise jewel, she was so wacky and weird and I loved her character. Margot Robbie was both clueless about the dirty nasty real world as a plastic doll living in a perfect word but then super self aware and grows so much as a person (a doll? a human?) in the movie, and her character is suprisingly complex. I thought the aesthetics were incredible, the scenes really take your breath away, with so many vibrant colors. The set design was pretty spectacular. A lot of the jokes went over the head but the really basic ones ("I'm gonna beach you off") were so wacky and good. It was funny, beautiful, and the musical and dance scenes were awesome. I only wish there were more musical numbers. It was wacky, silly, fast-paced, witty, sharp, funny, philosophical, existentialist, it really makes you question who you are and whether the world you are living in is real or not.
Ken has always been much taller than Barbie, they did so much to make this movie like Barbie but then just kinda was like ahhh that's not important

I am actually happy that they didn't show headless Barbies 😂😂😂 no, but seriously, I saw the movie yesterday and it was so much more than a comedy. It touched me on a personal deep emotional level. I went with a friend. And when we came out of the cinema my bf would join us for a drink. I took out my phone to text him which bar we would meet and directly two entitled men felt it was appropriate to say like: "nowadays everyone has to walk around with a phone". I was too flabbergasted to respond sadly enough. But I wish I could have just told him to mind their own business. They don't know why I grab my phone. They just judge. And that's the whole point of the movie. If we could just stop judging each other and lifting each other up, the world would be a much better place.

I never thought a Barbie movie would lead to discussing existentialism. It was like watching the Matrix mixed with Pinocchio...
The way they added Midge and weird versions like Growing Up Skipper and Sugar Daddy Ken was so funny. My favorite part is the musical part with the Kens. It was so nice to watch Ryan and Simu. And don't forget Scott Evans!

the 1st time i watched it I found it weird. So to be more open minded, I watched it a 2nd time... and WOUAWWWWW what a MASTERPIECE!!!!!! it is so overloaded by millions of subtilities in each sentences, that I understand it much better and am able to totally appreciate it 🥰😍 It is either too advanced for older generations like mine who got brainwashed by those genders roles, either misunderstand by younger generations who never felt oppressed. This movie conclusion is what our futur should lead to :
NO genders (and no races neither) should ever be considered as less!!!!!! Equal doesn't mean similar. Equal just means you and me are just equally as important!! 🙏

Damn, saw this in the movies at a 3 p.m. session on a Monday. Girls in pink smiling at each other in the bathroom. Little boys having so much fun with their mothers, older ladies in groups laughing; dads alone with their daughters; my boyfriend laughing and hugging me while I cry at the end. Just a beautiful communion of people. What an unforgettable experience.

You have to be a Genius to name an emotional/spiritual movie with a commercial name just for the people to come! I never expected that. The whole movie is just a metaphor for life itself. In the beginning looks like yea, a topical American movie but in the end, all pieces come together and the big moment comes and it really makes all your emotions swim inside you, and then the reaction. It was in the end a real explosion of emotions.
I saw in an interview that Margot actually owned the rights to Barbie and approached Greta to write the script for a Barbie movie. So Greta and her husband actually had to come up with a storyline for a doll that didn’t really have one and they hit it out of the park. They wrote it together during COVID lockdown and then Margot helped to produce it. And the result was this brilliant work of art. 💖

The Barbie movie looks like my daughter's playroom. When she got to be the age to REALLY play with Barbie, she inherited ALL the Dreamhouses from my parent's attic. My mom's, my two, my sisters two, all the assorted vehicles and pools and stables and offices and salons and ice cream shoppe stands and restaurants, that had been carefully packed away from our childhoods. And then when my sister-in-law's mom downsized her house, we also got my sister-in-law's 2 dream houses, vet center, beach house, party bus, and RV camper. So basically, my kid didn't just get a dream house, she got a whole neighborhood! We ended up having to move all her other toys to the living room, because the playroom was entirely taken over by BarbieLand and also a legacy collection of Transformers. 🤣🤣🤣
