I love how Marcus is enjoying himself while trying to explain the entire movie at the same time.
Nah the first 3 seasons of the show which are pretty wacky
This movie is a lot of camp and a lot of fun
Yes with all the heavy critiques of modern movies sometimes you need to just sit back watch a 90s movie and enjoy yourself for a change
@AndreNitro X1000 That's what I have been doing recently I have been watching a lot of 90's or 2000's movies/shows that objectively would get like a 3 - 4/10 but are hilarious & fun to watch with friends.
Whos the other guy? Hes super funny and i feel bad for not.knowing his name haha
"There is a hidden quality to movies that people always overlook and it's called humility"
Man, that quote was awesome.
All modern movies lack humility, that’s why I only watch older movies now
@AndreNitro X1000 guardians 3, john wick 4 and creed 3 had humanity
@Madman Jones Those are all sequels, pretty indicative of the fact they lack humility.
@Jason Royer i heard m3gan was good
This world used to be a place to learn to suffer, but that has to change. Make this world heaven!
I ashamedly admit that I’ve made everyone of my exes watch this with me at some point
You are a god among men
@Konan Game Dev this is the benchmark test to see if she’s the one
based
Did your relationships, by chance, always seem to end shortly after showing them this film?
After they broke up with you for revenge?
Fun Fact: The "I'm a frog" line was improvised by Johnny Yong Bosch, the actor who plays Adam. He thought that having a frog as a spirit animal was too lame so he suggested to the director that he make a joke about his character not liking it in the movie. the director basically said "Okay we'll let you do one take, but no guarantees it'll be in the movie". Well, it turns out it did make it in the movie.
And my man got a kiss out of it, sweet deal
dude i hate how the actor had to be like “let’s add some personality to this movie”
JYB is a bro
@ethan bailey lol I would say Adam was usually the ranger who had the most personality in the shows and the movies.
@WorkedShoots4Sale And the actor is also a voice actor that voices Artemis from Sailor Moon and Ichigo from Bleach.
My favorite part of this movie as a kid is how they press the big red Emergency Button and all that does is kick Ivan Ooze in the balls and that's how they beat him
lmao I thought maybe it was the thing that blew him up
Lmao
@Meit was but they had to kick him to the meteor
That's one of my fave things too
If all else fails, kick em in the nads
“The sword pulls out a pair of scissors and cuts it” I almost laughed my burger up
Watching Cosmonaut Variety Hour to feel something again
Real
Real asf.
Fr
real. :( 😢
Watching people watch Cosmonaut Variety Hour to watch them feel something again
8:56 There are 100 levels of comedy to this one dagger throw.
So fuckin funny
Literally had to pause the video because I could not stop laughing
Rest in peace Jason David Frank. You brought so much joy to kids everywhere. I watched this movie hundreds of times when I was a kid. I introduced my 8-year old son to this movie just last week, and it was so awesome to see his reactions to everything. The whole thing was surreal, honestly, and I couldn't help but get emotional. You may be no longer here, Tommy, but your performance lives on forever.
"Now that's what I call a splitting headache!" right into the camera always gets me.
Marcus's laughter in these always kills me. Its infectious.
Being 5 and seeing this in theaters was like Star Wars to me. Tommy being just the coolest guy. The ninja rangers being a thing. Ivan ooze being fun to just hate as a villain. The ending always kept me on the edge of my seat.
THIS movie really was everything you wanted it to be and more as a child. Me explaining and reinacting all the fights on the couch for my dad. Only for mom to go "it was a piece of shit. Waste of money."
Shout out to the parents who took their kids the the theaters.
Idk why parents have to be such dicks about taking their kids to this sort of thing. I got so much grief for the Pokemon movie.
@Sam Grady I also never understood that. You took your child to have fun, your child had fun, what are you gaining from trying to undermine that fun??
Let's watch it quickly guys before it gets taken down or something.
Question is WHO would be to blame? Viacom, Bandai, or Hasbro?
Really hoping this doesn’t get taken down. Combining Cosmonaut Variety Hour and Power Rangers is all I need in life.
@Rhyperior Rangerthere’s always something
Cosmonaut this video must remain uploaded, MAY THE POWER PROTECT YOU
@Rhyperior Ranger I think it'd be Saban or Toei
I honestly love how sometimes, he’ll just put out the most random video possible and it’s still highly enjoyable
He most likely did this cuz there was a netflix (i think) reboot movie with old power rangers somewhat recently and it was pretty bad
@Pyramanager
It was a reunion episode
5:22
"I can't believe they got Awkwafina for this."
After my recent anger and hatred for 'the Scuttlebut' I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciated that joke, it gave me a really good giggle 😂
God that song almost single-handedly ruined that movie.
As someone who also grew up with Power Rangers...
I had the biggest smile on my face throughout this entire video.
That splat effect of the Ooze guy hitting the wall was pretty damn seamless
6:35 I can't believe this movie predicted "It's Morbin' Time" decades ahead. This really is the greatest movie of all time.
im pretty sure its the other way around and this quote from the series got used for the meme but changed to morbin because of morbius
@Customizable Milk
🤓
"That special someone you like to call daddy". That line killed lmao
funny cause manscaped is completely ok with it
Beep bop... I'm the Philosophy Bot. Here, have a quote:
"If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us shall we not revenge?"
~ Shakespeare
This and the ninja turtle movie were my absolute favorites as a kid, what a nostalgia trip
But Ninja Turtles was actually good
@LJK401Literally
@The Good Reylo Yeah, stronger cinema.
@BlueFox94 Yeah this is good in a cheesy dumb way but TMNT 90 has legitimately good character and story moments and actually good fight choreography and effects work.
This was literally my childhood, it HOLDS UP, I STAND BY IT!!!
My poor granddad took me to see this no fewer than six times in the cinema. God bless that man and may he RIP.
I got to meet Bulk and Skull at C2E2 one year and they were the nicest dudes. Incredibly funny too. I couldn’t tell if they were in character or not.
This has to be said but a collab video between friendly space ninja and cosmonaut variety hour would be legendary. One of you guys has to make this happen.
“The movies just being war crimes this and characters dying that” that’s gotta be the most accurate description of the Transformers movies 🤣 props to Dan
“Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie is the food of movies”
Fun Fact: Barbara Goodson (English voice of Rita Repulsa) also provided the voice of Unico the Unicorn in the English dub of "The Fantastic Adventures of Unico" and "Unico in the Island of Magic" based on the Osamu Tezuka manga of the same name. Cheryl Chase (best-known as Angelica in Rugrats) also voiced Beezle in the first Unico Movie and one of the crying demon children in the second film.
Also Enya the Witch in the JoJo dub
and Naota, the main character in FLCL!
@sherbies Shit yeah, thought that was Mona Marshall lol
I really love how Markus and his friend are enjoying this timeless classic, while having fun and crying with tears of joy.
Truly the best line in this movie "How could I forget, I never knew!"
I'm like a huge Power Rangers fan, so you can imagine the smile on my face when I got this notification. Also I've never related to Marcus more than when he starts explaining the backstory behind Tommy.
Like he just like me FR!! 😂
Same bro, one of my favorite videos Cosmonaut has made 🙏🏽
When Marcus said he watched this when he was 6; but he watched it like 600 hundred times, I felt that. There was a time I had this on VHS and watched it every day. Even seeing these clips, I can envision the whole movie again.
My fun fact about this movie is that the actor who plays the black ranger is actually the famous va Johnny Yong Bosch who plays Ichigo, Vash the stampede, Lelouch, Nero, and other famous characters 😁
He’s also Izaya from Durarara, Giyu from Demon Slayer and Kaneda from Akira!
It's always so wild that he starred in power rangers now he's one of the biggest voice actors.
I know him best as the Persona 4 protagonist, he does a phenomenal job.
Fun fact, Reuben Langdon who is Dante's VA said that people who can do stuff like Power Rangers and whatnot are also good voice actors so he pushed for Capcom to use them in DMC games. They hired Johnny because of that, coincidentally around the time that he was one of the biggest VAs
@ultrayoshi100that actually makes so much sense. These guys gotta sound so over the top in power rangers lol they all prob really could be good voice actors
I watched this movie so many times as a kid. This video unlocked so many memories, especially some of the lines and sound effects. Power Rangers is so timeless I genuinely thought the cgi was the coolest thing ever when I watched it
Literally have been waiting for YEARS for anyone to review this LOL...I had never consumed any Power Rangers content until I was about 17 when I watched this film and since then it's been one of my favorite guilty pleasure movies. So cheesy but so fun
Marcus being a Power Rangers fan is a phenomenal achievement in character development
Oh god I remember watching this movie on a beach vacation as a little kid and the Ivan Ooze unearthing scene scared me so badly that I cried and cried as my dad metal detected on the beach thinking he was going to unearth that egg monstrosity 🤣
That's genuinely wholesome af haha
I need more Cosmonaut Ranger content please. I could watch you for 6 hours explaining PR lore 😂😂
This was genuinely one of my favorite movies when I was like 5 years old. Glad to see that others experienced this life-changing film as a kid.
I heard the song in class and awakened the memory of watching the movie.
I friggin’ loved this film as a kid. As an adult it isn’t bad either… I still watch it from time to time 😊
yeah, watching this on DVD almost everyday made me who I am
you have no idea how much normal i felt about this movie when i was a kid
i must've watched it over a million times
Interesting fact: The actress that plays Dulcea, the woman in the green bikini, ended up having to back out from the role in the early stages of production causing it to go to someone else who had all her scenes filmed before the original actress became available again and they just used her instead.
The actress that got cut out? Mariska fucking Hargitay.
You're telling me we could've had Oliva Benson in this movie?!!😂
@wuraola olagunju yup, if you look it up you can find pictures of her in costume
I didn't need to know this. Because now I know what could've been 😔
Mariska Hargitay talks on Seth meyers if anyone knows and oh Catherine Sutherland played who second pink ranger auditions for Dulcea we All it didn’t work out but it’s how she was discovered and the ask to be on the show when Amy Jo want leave
This might be the first time I've seen someone accurately use the "and boy, are my arms tired" bit. Bravo
This hit me with the biggest wave of nostalgia... I rewatched this so many times when I was a kid on VHS
This should be a separate channel of just this series, I would subscribe immediately, I love everything else from this channel but I think a separate channel of this series would have the same amount of subscribers if not more
Always nice to see these guys in a good mood instead of existential dread
Exactly sometimes you just need a paler cleanser
This movie truly is a work of art. One of the movies of all time!
Damn, ya missed pink ranger saying "have a nice trip, see you next fall" in the construction fight
You're a real one for giving us this masterpiece 😭🙏🔥
I can genuinely say this is the greatest crossover ever
im coming out of one of the worst depressive episodes right now and this is exacly what i needed marcus thank you man your videos make me laugh so fuckin hard
it’s crazy how relevant this title is. 14:11 fun fact, this is Ichigo’s english VA, and that line was ad-lib. her reaction was genuine and they kept it in the movie.
that makes a lot of sense lol
It wasn't so much an ad-lib, JYB came up with the idea of being bummed out with being a frog while on set and suggested it to the producers, they thought it was funny so they quickly rewrote the script and threw it in.
What may be funnier is that he tried to get them to let him do the same thing again in the Turbo movie when he noticed his vehicle was a mini-van, but that time they didn't go for it.
It wasn't an ad lib, but it was improvised. Johnny Yong Bosch told the producers he wanted to make a joke about his character being a frog and they let him do one take. There's no way the actress would come up with an appropriate in-character response if it was an ad lib because she wouldn't be prepared for it.
WHY DO YOU GUYS KNOW THIS
@shmalts1a bunch of interviews and stories from the actor himself, its pretty common knowledge in the PR communuty
Any day there’s more Cosmonaut Picture Show is a good day
Dude, I'm only a little over halfway through the video and this is one of the best times I've had on UAclips in forever. This movie is like a fever dream. I'm the same way though. I watched it about a million times when I was little and haven't seen it since so it's really weird to re-experience it.
god i loved this movie as a kid and still do i have so many fond memories of watching it thanks for the trip down memory lane
This is one of my favorite movies, because my god do I feel like a little kid again. I’ve talked about the needless back handsprings so much and I love them.
I am so glad you finally covered this movie. Hands down one of my favorite movies growing up and I still got it on VHS
Also, RIP my childhood hero… Jason David Frank. Mental health awareness, homies. Hugs for y’all in case you need it 🫂
Thank you
When Marcus said ‘it’s not too late to get into Kamen Rider, it’s like this but good’ that hit cause I too didn’t watch power rangers as a kid but am getting into kamen rider as an adult
i watched this so many times as a kid and im glad it still holds up lmaooo
Dude, I wore out the VHS of this thing and needed to replace it with a DVD copy. To this day, I don't care how cheesy it is or how bad that ending CG is, this has a special place in my heart
I am in exactly the right mood to enjoy the power rangers vicariously.
6:29 As somebody who's done parkour for over a decade I can confirm it actually takes less effort. Doing a bunch of handsprings feel similar to a light jog or doing some jumping jacks. Flips are surprisingly easy and conservation of momentum makes chaining them easy as well. In fact you can usually take the momentum from a first flip and transfer it into something to get even greater power
I’ve been waiting for Cosmo to watch power rangers for ages, THANK YOU COSMONAUT! May the power protect you 👍🏻
He should revisit in space, lost galaxy, Lightspeed rescue and time force
@AndreNitro X1000All GOATed Power Ranger shows
@Danny Chefalo yes the most well made in my opinion
@AndreNitro X1000 In Space has always been my favourite season of power rangers, Dino Thunder being as close of a second as it gets.
My least favourite seasons being Megaforce/Super Megaforce and Operation Overdrive.
@The Jamie Carney you have good taste
This was my favourite movie growing up and it’s inclusion of rhcp’s higher ground is one of the main reasons they’re one of my favourite bands to this day. I rewatched it for probably the 20th time after the passing of JDF and it still holds up as a dumb fun movie for me.
I saw this in theatres when I was a kid. Best movie.
That dagger scene is funny because if it had a laser he could just have pointed it to the wire.
This is crazy haha I rewatched the show (mostly in the background) recently and have been wanting to watch the movie that made me fall in love with the series. Might morhpin man, watching the Cosmonauts to feel something again
Bruh this just screams the same energy as the thunderbirds life action movie, would love to see you guys do that at some point!
RIP Jason David Frank. This brings back memories
May the power protect you my friend :)
i wish i had 3 first names
Just... whyyyyyyy 😭😭
Taken WAY too soon
I’ve watched this movie to honor his death. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen this movie.
I actually went to go see this at a drive end that used to be near my home, it's great. Not as a movie, but as a piece of nostalgia.
I really needed a cosmonaut picture show this week and oh my god this really delivered it brought up my mood so quickly I can’t wait for another one (in 9 months) 😂
I'm so glad that you guys were having fun watching this. It's one of my favorites. It's so silly and fun. This is making me happy. Thank you
I DESPERATELY need Marcus to do an episode about Kamen Rider and whatever other tokusatsu he's into because he just occasionally mentions he's watching KR and never elaborates beyond saying it's good.
I wanna know how deep in there he is. Like he clearly knows shit about Sentai since he was able to detail the reasons for Tommy going from Green Ranger to White Ranger, but has he, say, watched the Super Hero Taisen movies?
Maybe he'll catch a showing of Shin Kamen Rider and we'll get a video on that...
Yo, this review hits more than usual. The nostalgia part of my brain has me laughing uncontrollably at basic observations.
Still crazy to me how Adam was my favorite ranger and now his actor voices so many of my fav characters
Adam lowkey is one of my favorite legacy rangers. Especially in that episode when he morphs with the broken morpher to save his friends.
@VanillaMarky fr and how he was the leader of the overdrive episode
the purple safety vests on the workers is a touch you'd never get in a movie nowadays
As a fellow skydiver, I ran into Tommy at Chicago Skydive Center - my life became complete at this moment by realizing my path naturally crossed that of my childhood idol.
Didn't know I needed that hit of nostalgia. The Power Rangers Turbo movie is also a glorious mess, would be hilarious to see you guys cover it.
bro i have never laughed this hard before, why did i not know this was a thing? this is so good
Was not expecting this. This movie was my childhood. Super stoked to see Marcus was into it too 😂
10:04 I would actually LOVE a video about Kamen Rider, there’s so much to love about that series, as well as tokusatsu as a whole
literally started watching kamen rider geats because of this shoutout and it fucking bangs
Its pretty hard to make content about Kamen Rider because several YTbers have came out about how difficult it can be cuz Toei gets trigger happy with Copyright strikes consisting of ANY Kamen Rider footage
I been interested in watching that but..where do I start?
@BallerSwagBro9K There ara a lot of videos regarding this on UAclips. I personally recommend watching "How and where to watch kamen rider" by hawkilles. I think it's a good video for people who want to start watching.
Over 20 years later and this movie is still amazing to me
This has to be one of the best picture shows. And I can't tell if it's because I used to love this movie as a kid or not
After 30 years of shame, realizing that I'm not the only person that told my friends I could do a ninjetti corkscrew kick finally gives me some solace
Have this on VHS still, classic, love that this got a watch from you two.
There are only a select few youtubers who give me a dopamine rush when I see that they uploaded a video. Cosmonaut is one of them.
Yooooo this genuinely made me happy. I was born in 95 but I was never a power rangers kid, but just recently (roughly right before covid) I started my journey in watching ALL of power rangers. Every series, special, and movie. It took damn near two years but I've caught up to where power rangers currently is (and yes new episodes are indeed still coming out to this day!) And God it's been a beautiful journey. Even as an adult power rangers is something special, and it was so fun to watch it evolve through the decades.
I'm about ten years younger than you, and was a power rangers kid (initially watched Samurai and then jumped around to earlier seasons like RPM, Mystic Force, Wild Force, and In Space) but I'm doing the same thing! I've been wanting to watch all of the seasons and movies for the last few years now and finally started last August in my binge. I'm about halfway through (Operation Overdrive) and it's so fun. I love seeing how it changes both from the decade standpoint as well as who owned the franchise at the time, it's very interesting. Glad to find another person with a similar level of dedication lol.
@Eclipse Awesome to hear another person going through the long journey! You'll have to come back to this comment and let me know your favorites when you're done! I think my top 3 are Mystic Force (for being magical, unique, ans silly), RPM (for being post-apocalyptic and genuinely hilarious at times), and Time Force (in my opinion the villain of that season Ransik has the best arc and development of all main villains he's great). Most of the original Saban and Disney seasons are pretty great.
@BlindBananaBandit I'll definitely update you when I'm done! But I'll give you my current top 3 in the meantime, which are (in no particular order) Time Force, Ninja Storm, and then either In Space or Mystic Force, I can't really decide lol. I loved Ninja Storm for being very light-hearted and fun, and also for having one of my favorite sixth rangers, and I loved In Space for its interesting tone shift from the previous season as well as its Star Trek vibe. So happy to hear someone else is also fond of Mystic Force! I agree that it's very unique, and I loved how it leaned so hard into the magical side of power rangers, I think it's one of the quirkiest seasons. I'm 90% certain RPM will make my top 3 when I'm done because I remember really digging the post-apocalytpic setting, but it's been a long time since I've seen it. I ADORE Time Force and was completely blown away by the pacing and story in that season! (Minus the finale which I thought was a bit rushed). I also think Ransik was excellent and probably one of my top villains, but the villain that I personally think has the best arc and development (so far anyway) has to be Trakeena from Lost Galaxy (although she wasn't the main villain initially), I just thought her psychotic downward turn was amazing, and she was by far my favorite part of that season. Totally agree with you on most of the OG Saban and Disney seasons being great!
Great video. Then again I’d literally watch anything you put out so keep up the good work.
This movie is a repressed memory. I'm so glad it's back.
"we're back" "and boy are our arms tired" had me rolling
Loved that Geats callout, Donbrothers was pretty great too!
Until they kinda ruined the ending with the movie imo...
@Ima Hoaré the donbrothers movie came out somewhere in the 30s when the show was airing i believe, so it’s not supposed to be after the series
I AM SO HAPPY YOU DID THIS!!! OMG MY DAY HAS BEEN MADE! I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!
You two are a comedy duo. I can't stop watching this video
I remember seeing this movie in the theater with other members from my karate class. It was epic! The same nostalgia goggles you have for this movie is the same Nostalgia goggles I have for Super Mario Brothers.
Literally watching my childhood. So excited for this
I remember my mom taking me to the movies to see this as a kid because I begged her. As an adult, I feel really bad that she had to sit through this. Lol.
This movie and the show in general was my childhood, this was one of the few movies I owned and watched on repeat as a kid
I have been waiting!!! Thanks for everything you guys do 😂😂
OMG, I knew the Power Ragners song was good, but playing it so slow in the credits (21:50) is brutal!
Marcus been waiting for a long time. Good to see you guys again Watch Party is my favorite UAclips series❤🎉
Loved this movie as a kid, really doesn't hold up as an adult, except from the first 20 minutes which is actually sick. The soundtrack is so badass tbf
