That's not a fix, this is one of the stock SFM sessions that uses the modern HWM models. Anyone can re-render the original animation without changing a thing.
apparently i screwed up the titlecard it's missing for 1 frame before it fades out EDIT: I AM CURRENTLY REDOING THIS ENTIRELY FROM SCRATCH. IT WILL BE AN ACTUAL IMPROVEMENT THIS TIME, AND NOT THE GARBAGE THAT THIS VIDEO IS. It would actually have been done sooner had I not hit a roadblock with the map itself. I was using giant lights (really bright lights that shine really far) and discovered that they have a max amount of visleaves they will render in at a time. *Valve didn't optimize the map,* so there's hundreds if not thousands of visleaves broken scattered everywhere. I was in the middle of fixing it in Hammer and just ended up forgetting about it. I'll fix it and get the better video rendered soon. EDIT2: uaclips.com/video/XGZ2sJD9jUw/відео.html
Valve rendered this at its original framerate intentionally. 3D movement typically looks very stilted at a constant 60 FPS. This is acceptable in games because of the gain in responsiveness. Not so much in video. EDIT: I also think the lighting looks too studio-ish for what should be a dingy warehouse. It looks like a professional lighting setup with uncolored / white 3 point lighting, which goes against the original.
I rendered it at 30fps instead of the original 24 so it'd fit into 60hz displays perfectly. What you're seeing is probably the motion blur. As for the lighting, I was doing another one of these (a huge improvement and not whatever this video is) and hit a roadblock with the map itself. I *was* editing the map in hammer to fix it and forgot. (I tend to jump around projects because of burnout, but it WILL get done soon-ish.) EDIT: I always render at 30fps in SFM. Never 60, not even for memes.
@ZeroFusion28 huh, i didn't realize 30 was that much smoother than 24. If you were editing the map's lighting u probably could have just used one of the nolights programs and done it all in SFM. It probably would look more consistent.
@naii_ Recorded the bug while I had the time. The map isn't properly optimized. (Which I can fix in hammer, just didn't get around to actually doing it.) uaclips.com/video/XGZ2sJD9jUw/відео.html (Video was still being uploaded and processed when this comment was sent.)
IMO, the original seems too bright for what should be a dark warehouse. I did go too far with lowering the tonemap on this. I'll eventually do another one of these, because since making this I've figured out how to do large lights, so I can fake sunlight shadows across a large area. TLDR I can do better.
@ZeroFusion28 i also noticed that Heavys Teeth seem off in this duo to the better lighting, since at least ingame way and in the animation the teeth don't seem well too good but the lighting it has hides it a bit and makes it less noticable where here it seems more noticable duo to the improved lighting
@Leobaker - TF2 and Music That's probably a case of me forgetting to set the depth bias to something that isn't default. It'll be fixed when I'm done redoing this whole video from scratch.
You even fixed the whole skull on his arm where there should have been a fist! Props to you

this is how i remember watching it 14 years ago
0:28 “It costs 400k to fire this weapon… for 12 seconds.” THATS the most American thing I’ve ever heard
Good ol Murica
Heavy isnt American
@HylianRo ik
@HylianRo I know that, but as far as I'm aware TF2 takes place within the USA, so wouldn't he be spending it in USD?
@HylianRo not quite, if you think about it
apparently i screwed up the titlecard

I am Heavy Weapons Guy and this, is my gun...
she weighs 150 kilograms and fires 200 dollar custom tool cartridges at 10 thousand rounds per minute...
@Anonymous Fish it costs $400,000 to fire this weapon for 12 seconds.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA HOHOHO
Ohmygod who touched sasha! *whisphers alright* WHO TOUCHED MY GUN!?
Some people think that they can outsmart me
this honestly looks better than the original. :D
it's supposed to

It dissapoints me that he says 12 seconds, but in the video he fires it for 11 seconds, and now you realize that too
Now that is beautiful lighting. You did good mate
Why is this so underrated
This is under rated
It's good but a bit too shiny, other than that you did a good job
I’ll never forget that one
I needed this
Lighting is very good.
0:28 Free to Play Games moment
Peole then in future we Will have flying cars!
People now:
It does look good but it feels kind of off.

@General Heavy Some people think they can outsmart me.
Maybe.....maybe.....
@Arnie OcfemiaI've yet to meet one that can outsmart *boolet.*
unrelated, why does he have so many teeth??
Can you please please tell how you did it
I opened up Valve's project file in Source Filmmaker (comes with it) and added custom lights and cameras.
@ZeroFusion28 thankuuuuu
@ZeroFusion28 😅😅😅
Tf2 in source 2
POV: americans
Idk man it looks uglier than the original

@ZeroFusion28 thats what i like, building from criticism. You're a true inspiration.
