  • With more than 100 credits to his name, actor Willem Dafoe is known for his versatility. He's portrayed a soldier in "Platoon," the Green Goblin in "Spider-Man," and a hitman in "The Grand Budapest Hotel." Now, he plays Vincent Van Gogh during his final years in the new movie "At Eternity's Gate," distributed by CBS Films, a division of CBS. Dafoe joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss how learning to paint transformed the way he sees the world and the tumultuous period of Van Gogh's life that the film focuses on.

Willem DaFoe is Jesus. That’s why they didn’t need to mention anything.

Van Gogh did not cut off his ear. It was sheared off by a piece of sheet metal in a fight with Paul Goguin in Goguin's apartment.

+NephilimFree If you art professor answers either one of them did it, they're lying. They weren't there and there's no one who can tell you what really happened because neither Van Gogh nor Gauguin ever mentioned this incident in a way that clearly states who was responsible. It doesn't even matter, they will never mention he got killed for being an artist and instead will make you believe he killed himself or starved to death because they don't want you to reach such greatness and don't believe they will ever reach his toes. Art school is where the poison ends up. Don't listen to your teachers, just get some good books, go to musea, practice, learn how to think in disattachment of the ways the world has been lying to you and learn that these lies only hurt because you have taught yourself they were true. Once you can, make a map and others might end up on a road you drew.

Please stop. When I lived in Europe people pronounced my name all different ways depending on their native tongue. With words/terms pronunciation matters to meaning, with names there is no meaning lost.

Previous month I managed to receive my first five figure check ever!!! I've been working for this provider on the internet for 24 months now and I never been happier... They are paying me $95 per hour, and the most important thing about it is that I am not really that tech-savvy, they just asked for basic idea of internet and plain typing skill...The best thing about this job is that I have more time for my loved ones. I am in a position to devote quality time with my friends and family and take care of my babies and also going on holiday vacation along with them very routinely. Don't miss this chance and make sure to respond fast. This is what I do... *newsuperb71.com*

So sad how marvel has warped the minds of an entire generation. Never take a roll in a Marvel movie, it will take forever to wipe that fesces off your shoe. Thankfully Dafoe is powerful enough as an actor to do just that.
