The Strange, Frictionless World of Superfluids

  • Опубліковано 22 кві 2019
  • Imagine a cup of tea that doesn't obey the laws of physics, it pours out of the bottom of your cup while crawling up the sides to the top, and you'll have a pretty good picture of the ultracold phenomena of superfluids.

Wait if the superfluid never stops spinning does that mean there’s the potential for infinite energy?

Thanks! It's fascinating to me that helium(s) 3 & 4 can behave like superconductors & Bose-Einstein condensates (respectively.) I imagine that math is tangled & simple & fun! We're discovering how things are connected, & that's good! :) Rikki Tikki.

Superfluidity can be thought of as evidence that, assuming 42 is as good it gets, we should be able to observe everything metamorphosing into one another in nonsensical fashions, expressing phase transitions and metamorphic effects in the process. For example, just in the last ten years physicists finally established the first model of 500 states of matter according to quantum mechanics, however, since then they've discovered a variety of types of matter that are completely outside the model, including photonic-matter. Electrons have been studied more than other types of particles, and their particle-like manifestation is long believed to be indivisible, while their wave-like has proven to be infinitely divisible. A recent experiment discovered quasi particles in a sample they were studying, that had the identical properties of an electron, begging the question of which one is the real electron. Among other implications, it means that superfluidity can be considered a form of dimension squeezing, and only occurs around absolute zero because the context is so humble, with so little happening, that it can express emergent behavior more easily.

Just as a variety of superconductors have been discovered, we should find a variety of superfluids as well, and they should obey a complex multifractal equation that can express a sort of asymmetric-supersymmetry.

if what you said, they spin forever, then what if you could make that into a electrical current and gain energy from said forever spinning liquid? hydro electrical energy is similar since the rivers usually never stop flowing? I am waiting for someone to tell me i am wrong like always and i'll get back to mopping cleaning and yard work
